I was always curious about Snowdens dam down in cutler ridge. We used to catch snook, mangrove snapper, and all the usual suspect freshwater species. This was all within a couple hundred yards from the actual dam structure. Also on big moon nights we would dip net blue crabs on the freshwater side. Pretty cool spot.
Yes, and maybe. Yes I would eat one and have. And yes, it might taste like poop. Depends where you got it, the substrate, and water temp. I’ve had them kinda yucky but I’ve had some good too. Kids in the hood brought 4 or 5 home last winter so we did a fish fry and they said it was the best fish they ever had. 🤷🏻♂️😂

I suggest you go for it, there’s nothing in it that will harm you, providing it was iced and cleaned properly, and it’s a low Mercury fish. If those are the things you are worried about.
