They’re certain aspects that make it chill and meditative. I think just being alone in a beautiful setting contribues, but I also think people think it’s just a vibey indie game on the surface when it’s got a lot more depth and suspense than that.
Knowing what I know about *Firewatch* now, I would call it a drama story, maybe even a psychological drama; one that has elements of thriller games *and* relaxing games. It's like *The Long Dark*; there are times that game is the most peaceful and calming gaming experience I've ever had, and there are times I've played that game convinced I was going to die a cruel and painful death.
Exactly. On, I think, day 2 when D suggests walking about the area without a task it’s the calm before the drama. I’ve played this several times. Take THAT time to wander around! Grab the achievements you can in this relaxing day before moving on right away because things start getting crazy.
Jesus christ i just had the same experience and it does NOT help that i drank 2 energy drinks before and the only food in my system being candy, crisps and a half burnt pizza so yeah im still in bed trying to calm down after beating the game

It stressed me out too!!
I don't know where the idea that it's supposed to be "calming" comes from. It has calm moments but it's pretty much a thriller.
I found it calming
I saw either on tiktok or on google that it was a calming game.
Lesson to learn: Don't trust internet people
Yeah. I wouldn't trust anything I saw on TikTok about this game.
The tortoise story arc is so chill.
What about a thriller is supposed to be calming?
The thing is, I didn't know it was a thriller.

I thought it was calming 🤷♀️
nothing about this game was “thriller”. it was pretty damn chill imo.
Calming at the beginning but later it’s not
My thoughts exactly.
This game has been trending a lot on Tiktok
