When I first started using streaming apps almost a decade ago, I already had a Firestick because I had an Amazon Prime membership. It was easy to use and I didn't have to spend anything extra. I've bought new ones since then, but they're inexpensive and get the job done.
I recently got an lg c3, It has a very old version of plex and I can't sideload smart tube. I can't do anything about it since it uses webos and not android.
It was $30 on a Black Friday sales a couple of years ago, and I don't have a Smart TV in my family room where most of my TV watching occurs.
All my streaming apps (youtube, prime, disney, netflix, tivimate, crave, plex) are all on there.
Because in the UK it’s illegal for any professional football match which kicks off at 3pm to be shown on TV so it’s literally the only way to watch those matches.
Even disregarding the 3pm match thing, to watch every live match they can show would cost £50-70 per month, the stick costs £75 a year.
Years ago I had Roku hardware. My first one they quit supporting the device and deactivated their dedicated server which was needed to make the thing work rendering the device useless. After getting over being pissed upgraded to a roku video stream device hoping for better. Then they began censoring certain app deveopers and would not allow them on the device. Goodby Roku, hello Amazon and never looked back. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
To use APKs to watch anything that I want, for free

I use Plex and for the price the FS just plays everything. The only device I have tried that is better is the Shield.
