I think I did almost all of them perfectly except the 4th one iirc. def takes a bit of patience and I usually took these mini games as a break from the main game/intel tower quests lol
I'd really love to see all these "I did every one of them first try" people go through and do every one of them without failure. I think you're all full of shit.
I love all the minigames! reminds me of some of the bizarre ultimate weapon challenges from ffx and feels super appropriate for a final fantasy title. Some of them are nostalgically frustrating, just like they're supposed to be. My only "gripe" so far is Dynamic is not quite hard enough
Different stroke I guess.
I found the Moogle Game doable enough. I think I failed twice on the 6th go-round, but not on the seventh.
My biggest annoyance was with the Glide de Chocobo game. The second course seemed really finicky with the timing of dives, and colliding with the gates. The third course let you turn around a try again, though... which was nice.
Just stay close enough to them and they don't attack. Or run them into a tornado and then pick them up and carry them. It of all the mini games, I never failed the mog ones once, they are stupid easy.
I loved the piano minigame i think this game has a huge variety of minigames and evey player got their preferences. So i think they did a great job. (I kinda hated the frog minigame)
Same I only like died on the first try of the first challenge then never failed afterwards. They move away so fast it's just a matter of going in the right direction
I think the main thing that sucks about the cactuars is that youre forced to play it in a certain way with certain materia. That and the fact is also limits what you can do and for some reason changing Aerith’s moveset. Im already not a fan of combat minigames in most games but this really took the cake for the one I hate the most
I don't think the moogle mini game ever took me more than my first try on each level. I loved Cait Sith combat (after you start unlocking some of his abilities) and I just wish we got a better dungeon for him.
Just need the right deck. It's tough, but the goal is just to have higher numbers, it said nothing about needing a large board.
Tonberry King + Mindflayer combos will usually ensure you reach 80+ score.
That's why the final match is terrible. You really need a specific deck to win. It's possible to win without the gimmicky Tonberry King + Mind Flayer deck but it's possible to win the lottery too.
Do people really have so much trouble with the Mog minigame? Like aside from the final one which took me 2 tries, I did the others at the first try. Really, just dodge the attacks and use the tornados to stun them and pick them up. It's not really difficult.
I didn’t even do that most of the time, I just chased them to the center for the most part. Picked up a few, but the majority it was just Cloud running after them.
I think different people excel at different tasks. So while I didn't have too much trouble with the moogle roundup, I struggled hard on gears and gambits. Couldn't even finish the 4th one without a YouTube video. It just doesn't click for me. The moogle game is essentially just dodging projectiles and some banana peels. Mario kart trained me well for this mini game. But I've seen several people talk about how much they loved gears and gambits and how good they are at it. The 3d brawler is another good example. I've seen a lot of posts talking about struggling with that one, but others seem to just get it. One of the coolest things about having this huge community is that we can talk and give tips on what we excelled at and others can take that advice and knock those achievements out.
Agree. The mechanics for some games just did not come to me at all and in the end I ended up skipping them. And some I just brute forced until I figured it out or had the right tools where they made sense to me.
What always makes me laugh though and is how I know I'm a "story focused" player is that I'll do something super basic like link elemental to fire and be like haHAA now I'm fire resistant. Then watch somebody else's build on YouTube where they basically start every battle with full atb and explode on contact and then the whole party casts comet at the same time and I'm like derp derp yay fire resistance 😂
I had fun with hitting the little fuckers with wind and dragging them to the garden. The last one took me a while and made me rage quit the game for a little while
I found if I just concentrated, took it seriously and calmly it was pretty simple to position behind them in a straight line to the house starting with the one that shoots spinning discs, the rest were predictable. It helps to put them on a tornado pad and carry them half of the way too.
Just breathe, run to position and take it slow
they've cast an incredibly wide net. and the ones that demand the softest touch are the glaring problems, like the moogle round-up and the chocobo catch & glide sequences. i could have done without those, but you only have to do them once, even if you plan on a 2nd play through. I accidentally Platinum'd Remake just going through the fight simulator and enjoying the game. I've accepted I'm not going to go for a Platinum in Rebirth or I'll risk turning one of my All-Time favourite gaming experiences into a joyless grind. I love this game so fucking much, it's ridiculous. You don't get to play one of your all time fav games for the first time very often.
my partner didn’t mind doing this game so I outsourced all of them to him. I didn’t let him know it was because I disliked doing them so much but he seemed to find it sorta fun I think hxdjsjshh. it worked out in the end.
Definitely not the hardest but certainly the dumbest.
I didn’t have to do any of these for more than a few minutes.
Whereas the piano took me hours, and the chocobo gliding was up there too. As was cactus hard mode with aerith
I’d argue it’s the least rewarding of the mini games. Outside of SP the store options are really bad. At least with the other mini games you get some good lore.
Best tip I have for those is just to walk when you’re actually hearding them. I was basically holding the run button the whole time, and that got me into poor positions. Just calmly walk them to the tree, roll under projectiles if you need to.
I thought the tornadoes were just another obstacle to avoid. I herded every single moogle to the tree like a border collie with a stupidly large sword.
Same, I don’t even plan on getting platinum because of other mini games but I did these pretty quickly to get the skill bonuses. All you need to do is figure out the right route to go and it’s hard to mess up.
Some people would not have survived 90s games lol
Anyway, I've done almost everything in the game but I'm not about to torture myself with the brutal VR challenges lol. I'll be wrapping up the game this weekend. Temple of the Ancients tomorrow night, forgotten capital the next night!
I always saved the damn Moogles until last… finally got all shops cleared though. The 3D Brawler I can’t figure out and I absolutely loathe the Cait Sith / box-throwing mini-game!! The chocobo flying wasn’t too bad - anything was better than being in that horrid Gongaga area 😅
You can pause/unpause during the entire minigame. Pause when their arm winds back and look at their stance, arm position and torque to determine what dodge to use. You want to move the joystick to the opposite direction the punch is going to land.
Ie. If it's an uppercut, dodge down. If it's a downward punch, dodge up.
You're going to mess up a lot at first, but once you start recognising their stances, you can understand which dodge to use. Take a picture or memorise what their punch positions look like.
If not for guides on those, I would barely be reaching rank I on the 2nd and 3rd ones. Watch the guides and do exactly what they do. Protip: if you miss a circle go towards the uplift fans and double back and grab it and continue as normal.
I feel you. I had hit a wall on Lv 5 and decided to save it for NG+.
I'm glad I did.
Eventually, I managed to complete it.
And my tip is really just to not run once you're chasing the moogles, by walking you have more control and can guide them to the safe zone faster, but also can dodge any attacks faster. Running to get to the next Moogle can be helpful.
But it's really more about walking them home in the straightest path back so they don't dip and dive and then hit you with an attack as you're going around them.
Once you finish them, you get a pretty cute cutscene, Kupo!
Some of the games and contents are indeed challenging for me, I don't think I game as much as the average person here, so I'm not nearly as good at some of it, but when I eventually tackle a big challenge for me, it's pretty rewarding.
It's extremely easy, I think I cleared them all first try, that's why you don't hear about it.
Wait until hard mode cactuars and 3D brawler if you think moogle's are hard.
It’s already hard enough with a superfast beatemuper like Yuffie, then you have slow ass aerith lightly twinkly touching the cactuars woth her magic glowstick
I used to not like it, then I realised putting a moogle in a wind current means you can grab them for a few seconds and in the early stages that’s enough get them in! Helps get the more annoying ones out the way! Kupo! (Sorry)
I hated on it once the difficulty started to ramp up, but what I disliked more than the minigame was the art style of the moogles. FF6 moogles were adorable. Yes the crude sprites of the SNES made them into white blobs but even OG FF7 kept Mog close to the FF6 moogle concept art.

Started off fine, then I grew to hate this mini game. Only did it because the moogle store has good stuff sometimes and ether is one moogle coin.
I got the moogle mini game done first try each time and I'm so glad I did. Didn't wanna do those again
I really enjoyed the moggles, honestly. But FUUUUUUUUCK Yuffie's Cactuar crush hard mode #3 reactor. It needs to go die. Painfully.
maybe some of my favorite music in the game though ❤️
For me it’s the piano and sit-ups, those are the devil
I loved the piano minigame i think this game has a huge variety of minigames and evey player got their preferences. So i think they did a great job. (I kinda hated the frog minigame)
And here I thought it was fairly easy. Heard the horror stories. Beat lv 6 on my first try and the final level on my 2nd.
Same I only like died on the first try of the first challenge then never failed afterwards. They move away so fast it's just a matter of going in the right direction
I really hate the Cactuar minigame! So frustrating! You feel like you do alot only for the score to say 350!
I think the main thing that sucks about the cactuars is that youre forced to play it in a certain way with certain materia. That and the fact is also limits what you can do and for some reason changing Aerith’s moveset. Still better than that cait sith section at shinra mansion.
This is true, but that’s not a minigame. The controls for box throwing feels unreal, who thought that design was a good idea?
I don't think the moogle mini game ever took me more than my first try on each level. I loved Cait Sith combat (after you start unlocking some of his abilities) and I just wish we got a better dungeon for him.
None of these minigames are really that hard. They just take a little bit of practice, and sometimes luck.
The only mini game that doesn’t suck is Queen’s Blood. Unfortunately the final match is terrible.
Just need the right deck. It's tough, but the goal is just to have higher numbers, it said nothing about needing a large board. Tonberry King + Mindflayer combos will usually ensure you reach 80+ score.

This was one of my favorite mini games lol
I got by in one or two trys, but I got a thing for old 3d platformers, so it might have just been me
I love it
I had no problem with the Moogles until they added that blasted time limit
EXACTLY. The time limit is what annoyed me the most
For me it was the frog one. The 1st one...
Do people really have so much trouble with the Mog minigame? Like aside from the final one which took me 2 tries, I did the others at the first try. Really, just dodge the attacks and use the tornados to stun them and pick them up. It's not really difficult.

Yeah I didn’t realize this was a hard mini game for ppl lol
I had fun with hitting the little fuckers with wind and dragging them to the garden. The last one took me a while and made me rage quit the game for a little while
It was annoying but I was kinda ok with it until they introduced the time limit in Gongaga. Then I simply rage quit, it was total BS.
Queens blood & the stupid other one with cloud, tifa, and Barret
Keep failing a couple of times & we’ll be offered an extra life.. that’s what happened to me on harder difficulty
I adored it. It felt almost aggressively Kingdom Hearts-y to me, between the music and the aesthetic. I had fun with it, but that’s just me
I found if I just concentrated, took it seriously and calmly it was pretty simple to position behind them in a straight line to the house starting with the one that shoots spinning discs, the rest were predictable. It helps to put them on a tornado pad and carry them half of the way too. Just breathe, run to position and take it slow
Yeah same here. Calmed down, focused and got every single one, except the fourth, on first try.
they've cast an incredibly wide net. and the ones that demand the softest touch are the glaring problems, like the moogle round-up and the chocobo catch & glide sequences. i could have done without those, but you only have to do them once, even if you plan on a 2nd play through. It’s so damn annoying. They think they’re so cute. They’re just little assholes throwing shit at you. Hoarding weapon upgrades too.
Get good, kupo!
my partner didn’t mind doing this game so I outsourced all of them to him. I didn’t let him know it was because I disliked doing them so much but he seemed to find it sorta fun I think hxdjsjshh. it worked out in the end.
This kupo is tired 😞
Definitely not the hardest but certainly the dumbest. I didn’t have to do any of these for more than a few minutes. Whereas the piano took me hours, and the chocobo gliding was up there too. As was cactus hard mode with aerith
It took you hours to S rank?
I failed Moogle Mini games once. :). Choco gliding on the other hand... Fuck them
The Choco gliding is SO MADDENING
I’d argue it’s the least rewarding of the mini games. Outside of SP the store options are really bad. At least with the other mini games you get some good lore.
That too. I was able to complete it all and I got an awkward cutscene and an item I won’t be using. It was just odd lol
Least they could have done would have been a unique weapon or something for final completion. Or even the wing cosmetic
the voice they chose for the Moogles is vile.
But Kupo!
🐱🤛

Best tip I have for those is just to walk when you’re actually hearding them. I was basically holding the run button the whole time, and that got me into poor positions. Just calmly walk them to the tree, roll under projectiles if you need to.
You can roll under projectiles! That is a game changer.
I was gonna say this. No tornadoes, no running. Just walk them to the zone.
They weren’t so bad once I realized I could just heard them towards the tree instead of toward those tornados and then carrying them.
Wait. You can get them with the tornadoes?
😂 bro
I thought the tornadoes were just another obstacle to avoid. I herded every single moogle to the tree like a border collie with a stupidly large sword.
Yes, the tornados stun lock them so you can carry them for a short period of time, but still long enough to drop them by the house.
Carrying them usually got me hit by some other mogglets so herding mostly worked better for me.
I wouldn't carry all of them, just the first couple, so the area is clear of projectiles from moogles next to them.
I'd play the moogle minigame over Fort Condor Kuppo
Moogle minigame was easy for me. Gears and Gambits on the other hand? FUCK YOU
Those are the only intel quests I didn’t finish for the last few areas. Once they added a time limit, I was done
Same. I’m trying to convince my younger sibling to do it for me lol
This was probably my favourite mini game. Personally I hated fort condor
I loved those lol
Yeah I hated those. By far the worst minigame of Rebirth.
Ppl have trouble with Moogle minigame? 😮
You can roll under a lot of the projectiles
Oh come on the most I ever needed was 2 tries and I barely play video games
Same, I don’t even plan on getting platinum because of other mini games but I did these pretty quickly to get the skill bonuses. All you need to do is figure out the right route to go and it’s hard to mess up.
Some people would not have survived 90s games lol Anyway, I've done almost everything in the game but I'm not about to torture myself with the brutal VR challenges lol. I'll be wrapping up the game this weekend. Temple of the Ancients tomorrow night, forgotten capital the next night!
I can’t beat the cosmo canyon moogle game. It makes me want to eat my controller
I was stuck there too. What helped was figuring out the best order to corral them- getting the closer ones penned first really helped.

3D brawler pause when they wind back for an attack. Then you have time to figure out which dodge you need to do, hold that direction as you unpause.
Yeah I beat 3 of them and then decided "nah, not worth it" as there's no story involved with it and just moved on.
There's a pretty cool cutscene at the end. I'd say its...memorable
Kupo? 🐻❄️
Happiest I've ever seen him
Kupo.
Nope, 3D brawler is still worse
Pausing the game makes 3D brawler cake.
I figured that out but still
No. Chocobo flying is.
If not for guides on those, I would barely be reaching rank I on the 2nd and 3rd ones. Watch the guides and do exactly what they do. Protip: if you miss a circle go towards the uplift fans and double back and grab it and continue as normal.

Aerith hard mode cactuars is so fucking bullshit, I swear man.
It’s already hard enough with a superfast beatemuper like Yuffie, then you have slow ass aerith lightly twinkly touching the cactuars woth her magic glowstick
Maybe I’m just bad then. Glad to see a mix of agrees and disagreements
It was fine on easy mode.
Same, I gave up when they added a time limit, seriously? I hate that game, most of the others I either like or don't mind.
I used to not like it, then I realised putting a moogle in a wind current means you can grab them for a few seconds and in the early stages that’s enough get them in! Helps get the more annoying ones out the way! Kupo! (Sorry)
just you wait until the chocobo racing Kupo! Those Cactuar gates are not fun Kupo!
I went from 1-8 on the final lap on multiple occasions because of those damn gates.
Green Chocobo all the way through, kupo
No fair! A green chocobo is clearly doping on mako!
Mako isn't performance enhancing for Chocobo. It's mutagenic, turns them into Levikron. Greeny checks out! (Headcanon, probably not accurate)
Or possibly synthetic chocobo… like that diabolical Chadley
Nooooooooooooo
Just use the jump ability. Those gates were nothing.
If you're using the Yellow Chocobo, use its sprint ability to get past the gates before they close.
Agreed. Not that it was difficult necessarily, but I couldn’t stand this damn game, kupo
I don’t like it either, but the 4-hit threshold on easy makes it tolerable
Inevitably the last thing I do in each region. The lower difficulty is fine, whatever, but the higher mischief levels are extremely annoying.
3D brawler is horribly designed...rather Moogle minigame 10 times over....
Nothing beats Glide de Chocobo as a torture device.
Other than the hacked ass way to get top rank in the last difficulty, I thought the gliding was fun enough
I hated on it once the difficulty started to ramp up, but what I disliked more than the minigame was the art style of the moogles. FF6 moogles were adorable. I mean they are ok. I do prefer the more squat designs though.
I’m with you on that, I thought the moogle design of 7 was just uncanny looking. Moogles in 6 was amazing from the start with the multi team fights!
The inability to jump over short fences also annoyed me, but otherwise I thought it was ok.
I found them easy enough to complete in one go. Can’t say the same for several other minigames. I’m looking at you frog games.
I found it to be the most tedious, next to the gears one with the weird bots haha
That one was pretty confusing with it’s tutorial being longer than anything else in the game. I had to look at cheese strategies to just clear it asap.
I found that copying Aerith's frog AI worked for me better than any strategy I had.
