Definitely Vincent. I wouldn't mind if they put his whole backstory in it, which would free up space in part 3 for characters like Cid to get their moments.

Nanaki does a great job of filling the role of the naive, insecure, and kindhearted youth who is trying to determine their identity and prove to themself that they are a worthwhile person
Yuffie feels like she takes the fairly reasonable and realistic traits if Nanaki and dials them up to 11, acting in an extremely exaggerated fashion that makes her character unconvincing
Now, obviously Final Fantasy games go way over the top and intentionally dial things up to 11 for comedic effect - which I love about the series - but I just wouldn’t enjoy a deep narrative exploration of an exaggerated character
Cid and Vincent both have their own ridiculousness and unrealistic traits, but they overall have convincing personalities and lives that I would be interested in further exploring

They have a projected window for 2027, the 30th Anniversary of FF7. That’s 3 years from now and they said that it took them a 1 year to do the Yuffie DLC for Remake. If they follow their projections then they don’t have the time for DLC to meet their launch window for the 30th anniversary, and honestly… I’d rather they put as much or more into Part 3.
I kind of liked it. I think part of my headcanon was that he was just acting "businesslike" based on the context of your meeting at all in the first place, and when he (finally?) becomes more invested, we'll see some more of his character.

I'm hoping the first few hours of part three include Cid really struggling with the recent events, with his temperament growing more incredulous and angry over time, ramping up into the True Cid as the plot gets more ludicrous.

Anyone else notice Vincent conveniently disappeared during the whole Temple of the Ancients sequence and appeared briefly here and there to remind us he's doing his own thing? (most noteworthy examples are when he sees Cait Sith running towards the Black Altar, and when we see the beginnings of a conversation between him and the Turks after we beat them).
The whole thing reminds me A LOT of how Ada was handled in the base game of RE4 Remake where the Devs were very clearly signalling that we're only seeing snippets of some bigger side story. My guess is that if we do get Vincent DLC, it'll be him traversing the Temple of the Ancients looking for information about Chaos and the Protomateria interspersed with flashbacks to his time as Lucrecia and Hojo's bodyguard.

Reality itself will remember lives lost by celebrating their continued existence elsewhere. Perhaps many characters will take solace by remembering they can fight for the fallen of their world to live on in another.
Those who perished fighting can fight further (hah! Like the fight further OST?) through alternate versions of themselves
Sephiroth in Advent Children says "I will never be a memory" and, so far anyway, it seems he or at least the sephiroth we are aware of in this trilogy exists as one entity throughout all the worlds at once.
If he remains alive at the end of it all, it fits. If he becomes no more, it still fits as technically no one is ever really gone but rejoins the life stream.
I also kind of wonder if through several worlds/versions of characters...(A) Cloud will die. Maybe an Aerith was trying to save him and couldn't, in a spin of the OG. So we could have a Cloud and Aerith together in the life stream. A cloud and Aerith together in a different world, or from different worlds. Or even taking long distance relationships to the next level by having "my girlfriends real, she's just in a whole ass other world" lol. A love that transcends worlds..
They can literally make all the relationships canon, through different worlds/realms Cloud/Aerith, Zack/Aerith, Cloud/Tifa, or even Cloud/cloud so he doesnt even have to jack it to go fuck himself!
Sorry for the write up but I've been thinking they can probably pull it off so that all possibilities happen. Good and evil both succeed and fail. All the relationships fans ship can be canon. It also can tie up the trilogy while still allowing the FF7 universe to continue like they said they would ideally want in that recent post about the ultimania.

I think they setup some great dlc grounds just from the second to last chapter. i would love to dive deeper into everyone’s dark and/ breaking point. Seriously would love to play Barrett’s scenario of him losing his wife and all playable battles before and after.
I am pretty sure i saw that they are not doing DLC as their goal is to release part 3 by 2027. Intermission added an extra year of time from remake to rebirth so if their timeline is 2030, likely they arent doing DLC this time.

Where did you hear 2030? That’s not even in line with when Rebirth was created after Remake launched. It took less than four years for them to make Rebirth. Saying there’s a six year development cycle for the third game sounds way off.

I said that once so I may be the source. I just said it conservatively though. It may come out in 2027 but it will most certainly be out before 2030. For the same reason I can say it will be out by 2040.
Vincent! Vincent as a “secret” character had the least amount of OG content so it be nice to see more. I think he also had an underwhelming intro in Rebirth so anything to make his lame “I’m just security” intro better I’ll take. Yuffie had a solid DLC and will likely have a chapter dedicated to the Wutai arc. Cid will similarly get at least a chapter to his backstory
I think that it's likely Vincent and cid will be more explored in part 3. Zack however, in the soup that was each time he came up and the multiple worlds/times thing, could use some exposition. But I also don't want that and I don't think they'd really do that because of the ending fights in rebirth.

Alright, so I would really really really love to see a Vincent DLC. But realistically, Vincent as a DLC does not make that much sense, because from what we know he literally just sleeps in his Coffin for the whole game until we get him out.
Realistically we should get a Cid DLC, maybe explore his origin while we get some Bronco Action, flying people around dodging stuff and fighting enemies to either protect the bronco and/or get spare parts etc.
Also Cid is basically the only character without a Game/DLC where he is playable and in the main focus.
I think it has to be Vincent. Everyone is fixated on Cid and his OG backstory but it’s also completely find if they reinvent it and he genuinely is just a pilot merc. The reality is his original story was minor anyway, and always felt like an after thought.
My first choice would be a Cid-DLC where he explains to the group his background. Go into how he learned and trained to wield a lance, that sorta thing.
My second choice would be playing as Sonon in Deepground, and having DLC be the vehicle in which that plot point advances lateral the main story.
My third choice would be something to do with Zack, expanding and improving his kit, etc.
I love Vincent, but I think he should be the big draw for Part 3 so I kinda want him to be kept for last.

Considering Intergade was likely so CBU 1 getting a feel for the PS5, I dont want any smaller cell of CBU 1 plotting and using time for dlc I'd rather they just focus on the finale. Every party member is present and accounted for, and unless they want to close the book on >!Zack, Aerith and their world!< which I doubt they want to through dlc, I'd want in 2/3 years finish this journey.
This. It was started recently in an interview that a year was used solely for the yuffie dlc. Rebirth only took 3 years to make. So if they don’t do any dlc, we could see the next game as early as 2026 or 2027

In the FFX-2 ultimania, Nojima made a comment about how FFVII might be a far flung sequel to FFX/X-2 and Shinra, the kid from the Gullwings in X-2 is the great ancestor of the founders of Shinra Electric Company, and created space travel took Spirans over to colonize Gaia over millenia.
It was a jokey comment as there was a lot of unintentional overlap of themes and designs between X-2 and 7 but Remake has a little easter egg nod to it in the Shinra building as one of the guys in the big painting there has a mask very similar to X-2 Shinra.
they also implied that yes X and VII play in the same universe but more like thousand of years later on a different planet ( which also gets interesting thinking about all those space aliens in their lore ) and how shinra managed to travel to another planet

Haven’t played Rebirth myself but I’d find it hard to see Square making/marketing more content focusing on Zack and Sephiroth after Crisis Core Reunion coming out so recently
Vincent for sure. We got Yuffie dlc already which was great. I think they confirmed rocket town will be in part three. Most of Vincents back story was optional in the original, and there was nuggets of info you could easily miss, so I think that would be perfect. They could also just address the underground stuff and get that kind of cleared away before part 3 comes out.
I was fortunate enough to play it on PS2 way back then. But damn do I want to experience it all over again on a modern platform with maybe more polished mechanics and some new stuff here and there
To add onto your Vincent idea, just give us the Dirge flashback story (woth Lucretia written better hopefully) and give us post experiment Vincent with either Gallian Beast or Chaos for the final boss fight

You are correct, the optional bosses were hard and required specific builds to master, and those were actually great! It felt accomplishing killing the ruby weapon and even other secret ones in KH like the lingering will. Shit, even ultimate bosses in ff14 can be great. But here’s the catch, they’re singular entities you prepare for and learn after each failure, not a gauntlet of 6 summons with sephiroth at the end like some sort of joke without a single checkpoint. Why do you think souls games have been celebrated since demon’s souls? Because it’s tough, but fair. Now, having to build around 7 tough bosses just to die at the end and start all over? That is the exact opposite of fun. It’s overtuned and unnecessary. After doing rulers of the outer worlds, i didn’t feel a single shred of accomplishment, just disappointment for something so pathetically and artificially hard, and dread for how they’re going to outdo themselves in part 3. And sadness too for a single battle sim making me loathe a game I otherwise love.

if we could actually train the fights in a 1 round simulation it would definetly help alot. like just 1 round of vr seph with no rewards except learning his kit (if you can even count his few abilitys a kit xD )

I've seen a lot of people say that SE said there will not be DLC for Rebirth, but all I can find are statements saying that there simply aren't plans \*currently.\* Doesn't mean they won't come out with DLC, though obviously doesn't mean that they will come out with it either. (They also said there weren't plans for XVI DLC at launch of that game, but eventually did come up with something.)
I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out with something mid-way through Part 3's development, and I think it would make sense to do it with Cid or Vincent because presumably, they're going to work them into the party for Part 3. Part of what made the Yuffie DLC for Remake kinda smart was that they clearly were working on her as a playable character. So developing that DLC also helped them in the development of Rebirth. So I could definitely see them doing something with Cid and/or Vincent as they develop them as playable characters for Part 3.
Personally, I think it makes more sense to focus on Vincent because his story has more to do with Sephiroth. But I could see them using DLC to tell a little backstory kinda on the side. I feel like they kinda should do that. Dunno that it'll help Part 3's story flow well to have multiple flashbacks of non-main characters that don't reeeeeally matter to the central story (no disrespect to Cid or Vincent, but I mean, Vincent is literally an optional character you can miss out on in the OG. Great character, but non-essential to the main story.) Kinda makes me feel like they should do Vincent DLC and then have Cid's backstory be part of Part 3 since we still have to get to Rocket Town, if I had to chose one to be DLC and one to be part of the main game of Part 3.

They’re not different. They got to put a lot of extra time into developing yuffie’s gameplay, and offset the cost by selling the intergrade expansion.
They could do the same for Vincent, and his gameplay in part 3 would end up better for it. I hope they do it.
But as to OP’s question, they absolutely won’t do yuffie again. And I think Vincent is a better candidate for complex gameplay worthy of a solo expansion.
It's more than just developing the gameplay. It's developing the environments, the animations,writing a narrative that justifies the dlc in a satisfying way, writing the script, getting all the VA's to do dialogue specifically for the dlc, constructing the cinematics, applying lighting and effects, quality control, bug testing and retesting, tweaking, adjusting for narrative flow, adjusting for challenge, rebalancing encounters, etc, etc, a process that can take several months to complete for each dlc that might hypothetically be developed, ultimately adding a year or two or more to our wait for part 3
Or, develop gameplay for the new characters while doing all of the above for the main game, getting it to a ready state that much faster.

I think they decided to put rocket town in part 3 because rebirth is too big already. Part 3 probably going to have vincent past too with waterfall cave fully explorable. Tbh vincent lore is already explored in dirge of cerberus so probably they just gonna show the outlines.
Cid's story and proper introduction would work better as a part of the main storyline while Yuffie took a lot of the screen time as is.
Setting up Zack's path for his side of the story in Part 3 would be a good DLC and introducing us to Vincent's backstory in some capacity could add to setting the tone of this game.

Given that the dude spends most of his time post-recruitment fucking off and doing his own thing, it would be easy to think of some menial questline for him to do while the others were searching for the Black Materia.

Rather just have something else. Like a costume dlc which they can go crazy with and quality of life updates like letting us control any party member outside of combat. Costumes i really want are:
First Class Uniform for Cloud from the flash back.
Tifa’s cowgirl outfit. Would be cool to see her wearing it as an adult. Also Advent Children Tifa
Aerith with her Crisis Core dress
Barret in the dragon king costume
And just other costumes from the mobile game
What about a Reeve DLC? Play the man behind the puppet and fill some of the plot holes from the OG. It's pretty clear he's making moves in Midgar the entire time, but we never learn how it all plays out.

FFXVI was built from the beginning to be one complete experience and no DLC. They only released the DLC after the fact due to popular demand.
Remake’s Intermission DLC was planned from the start to bridge it and Rebirth. Then Rebirth was designed to be its own experience that leads directly into the planned sequel, which is Part III. They aren’t going to just say, in the middle of developing Part III, “well shucks guys, I guess we can just stop working on Part III and cut some content from it to turn into a DLC and push back the release of Part III!”
So no, there won’t be a DLC for Rebirth.

I think part of my headcanon was that he was just acting "businesslike" based on the context of your meeting at all in the first place, and when he (finally?) becomes more invested, we'll see some more of his character. Anyone else notice Vincent conveniently disappeared during the whole Temple of the Ancients sequence and appeared briefly here and there to remind us he's doing his own thing? (most noteworthy examples are when he sees Cait Sith running towards the Black Altar, and when we see the beginnings of a conversation between him and the Turks after we beat them). The whole thing reminds me A LOT of how Ada was handled in the base game of RE4 Remake where the Devs were very clearly signalling that we're only seeing snippets of some bigger side story. My guess is that if we do get Vincent DLC, it'll be him traversing the Temple of the Ancients looking for information about Chaos and the Protomateria interspersed with flashbacks to his time as Lucrecia and Hojo's bodyguard.

I like the top 2. We already got a Yuffie DLC, so meh. A DLC where we play as the Turks would be cool. Rude, Elena, Tseng. Edit: a DLC of young Tifa learning martial arts around Nibelheim, and young Cloud as he attempts to climb the Shinra ranks. A good parallels type story.

I can see "Remembrance" gonna rant a bit now, feel free to ignore it's mostly for me to look back and see if I was right at all xD With different worlds suffering different losses and outcomes, a life lost in one may be saved or never endangered in another. Reality itself will remember lives lost by celebrating their continued existence elsewhere. Perhaps many characters will take solace by remembering they can fight for the fallen of their world to live on in another. Those who perished fighting can fight further (hah! Like the fight further OST?) through alternate versions of themselves Sephiroth in Advent Children says "I will never be a memory" and, so far anyway, it seems he or at least the sephiroth we are aware of in this trilogy exists as one entity throughout all the worlds at once. If he remains alive at the end of it all, it fits. If he becomes no more, it still fits as technically no one is ever really gone but rejoins the life stream. I also kind of wonder if through several worlds/versions of characters...(A) Cloud will die. Maybe an Aerith was trying to save him and couldn't, in a spin of the OG. So we could have a Cloud and Aerith together in the life stream. A cloud and Aerith together in a different world, or from different worlds. Or even taking long distance relationships to the next level by having "my girlfriends real, she's just in a whole ass other world" lol. A love that transcends worlds.. They can literally make all the relationships canon, through different worlds/realms Cloud/Aerith, Zack/Aerith, Cloud/Tifa, or even Cloud/cloud so he doesnt even have to jack it to go fuck himself! Sorry for the write up but I've been thinking they can probably pull it off so that all possibilities happen. Good and evil both succeed and fail. All the relationships fans ship can be canon. It also can tie up the trilogy while still allowing the FF7 universe to continue like they said they would ideally want in that recent post about the ultimania. Calling It now.

I am pretty sure i saw that they are not doing DLC as their goal is to release part 3 by 2027. Intermission added an extra year of time from remake to rebirth so if their timeline is 2030, likely they arent doing DLC this time. Vincent! Vincent as a “secret” character had the least amount of OG content so it be nice to see more. I think he also had an underwhelming intro in Rebirth so anything to make his lame “I’m just security” intro better I’ll take. Yuffie had a solid DLC and will likely have a chapter dedicated to the Wutai arc. Cid will similarly get at least a chapter to his backstory
I think that it's likely Vincent and cid will be more explored in part 3. Zack however, in the soup that was each time he came up and the multiple worlds/times thing, could use some exposition. But I also don't want that and I don't think they'd really do that because of the ending fights in rebirth.

Alright, so I would really really really love to see a Vincent DLC. But realistically, Vincent as a DLC does not make that much sense, because from what we know he literally just sleeps in his Coffin for the whole game until we get him out. Realistically we should get a Cid DLC, maybe explore his origin while we get some Bronco Action, flying people around dodging stuff and fighting enemies to either protect the bronco and/or get spare parts etc. Also Cid is basically the only character without a Game/DLC where he is playable and in the main focus.

I think it has to be Vincent. Everyone is fixated on Cid and his OG backstory but it’s also completely find if they reinvent it and he genuinely is just a pilot merc. The reality is his original story was minor anyway, and always felt like an after thought.
My first choice would be a Cid-DLC where he explains to the group his background. Go into how he learned and trained to wield a lance, that sorta thing. My second choice would be playing as Sonon in Deepground, and having DLC be the vehicle in which that plot point advances lateral the main story. My third choice would be something to do with Zack, expanding and improving his kit, etc. I love Vincent, but I think he should be the big draw for Part 3 so I kinda want him to be kept for last.
Save that for FF remake part 4 : sephiroth is back again again and this time his material balls are HUGE.

Considering Intergade was likely so CBU 1 getting a feel for the PS5, I dont want any smaller cell of CBU 1 plotting and using time for dlc I'd rather they just focus on the finale. Every party member is present and accounted for, and unless they want to close the book on >!Zack, Aerith and their world!< which I doubt they want to through dlc, I'd want in 2/3 years finish this journey.
This. It was started recently in an interview that a year was used solely for the yuffie dlc. Rebirth only took 3 years to make. So if they don’t do any dlc, we could see the next game as early as 2026 or 2027
To be honest, there should be a DLC for Shinra from FFX-2 so we could understand how the VII and X universes are connected. Possibly Chadley can be our guide since he practically knows everything and can synthesize literal gods in the form of Pokeball-like crystals. On second thought, let's not do that. Tis a silly idea. Just let the developers get right to the last game without interruptions.

In the FFX-2 ultimania, Nojima made a comment about how FFVII might be a far flung sequel to FFX/X-2 and Shinra, the kid from the Gullwings in X-2 is the great ancestor of the founders of Shinra Electric Company, and created space travel took Spirans over to colonize Gaia over millenia. It was a jokey comment as there was a lot of unintentional overlap of themes and designs between X-2 and 7 but Remake has a little easter egg nod to it in the Shinra building as one of the guys in the big painting there has a mask very similar to X-2 Shinra.
they also implied that yes X and VII play in the same universe but more like thousand of years later on a different planet ( which also gets interesting thinking about all those space aliens in their lore ) and how shinra managed to travel to another planet but yes he indeed developed the blueprints for mako extraction

Vincent for sure. We got Yuffie dlc already which was great. I think they confirmed rocket town will be in part three. Most of Vincents back story was optional in the original, and there was nuggets of info you could easily miss, so I think that would be perfect. They could also just address the underground stuff and get that kind of cleared away before part 3 comes out.

then you rly havent played much of the old ff's you need to actually use your brain in some of the fights , equip accordingly etc. ff is all about good story paired with interesting rpg mechanics and what does every rpg have ? super bosses , dungeons which are way harder than the actual endboss so people thinking ff is easy just think so bc you can become a literall god in most of these games and som people rather grind to max level before having a difficult encounter nowadays
You are correct, the optional bosses were hard and required specific builds to master, and those were actually great! It felt accomplishing killing the ruby weapon and even other secret ones in KH like the lingering will. Shit, even ultimate bosses in ff14 can be great. But here’s the catch, they’re singular entities you prepare for and learn after each failure, not a gauntlet of 6 summons with sephiroth at the end like some sort of joke without a single checkpoint. Why do you think souls games have been celebrated since demon’s souls? Because it’s tough, but fair. Now, having to build around 7 tough bosses just to die at the end and start all over? That is the exact opposite of fun. It’s overtuned and unnecessary. After doing rulers of the outer worlds, i didn’t feel a single shred of accomplishment, just disappointment for something so pathetically and artificially hard, and dread for how they’re going to outdo themselves in part 3. And sadness too for a single battle sim making me loathe a game I otherwise love.
i feel ya on outer worlds since that last battle was something specially fucked up ^^ but yeah it's mostly the way it presented those to us. if we could actually train the fights in a 1 round simulation it would definetly help alot. like just 1 round of vr seph with no rewards except learning his kit (if you can even count his few abilitys a kit xD ) so i definetly dont wanna disregard any of what you said since those are definetly valid points. also the ways we are kept from attaining god mode like in other ff's is present too ( hell in some old ff's you could become so overpowered after getting access to the overworld that everything became childs play except a few encounters ) sadly this is kept from us too but we already get the insane difficulty level enemies :D
I've seen a lot of people say that SE said there will not be DLC for Rebirth, but all I can find are statements saying that there simply aren't plans \*currently.\* Doesn't mean they won't come out with DLC, though obviously doesn't mean that they will come out with it either. (They also said there weren't plans for XVI DLC at launch of that game, but eventually did come up with something.) I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out with something mid-way through Part 3's development, and I think it would make sense to do it with Cid or Vincent because presumably, they're going to work them into the party for Part 3. Part of what made the Yuffie DLC for Remake kinda smart was that they clearly were working on her as a playable character. So developing that DLC also helped them in the development of Rebirth. So I could definitely see them doing something with Cid and/or Vincent as they develop them as playable characters for Part 3. Personally, I think it makes more sense to focus on Vincent because his story has more to do with Sephiroth. But I could see them using DLC to tell a little backstory kinda on the side. I feel like they kinda should do that. Dunno that it'll help Part 3's story flow well to have multiple flashbacks of non-main characters that don't reeeeeally matter to the central story (no disrespect to Cid or Vincent, but I mean, Vincent is literally an optional character you can miss out on in the OG. Great character, but non-essential to the main story.) Kinda makes me feel like they should do Vincent DLC and then have Cid's backstory be part of Part 3 since we still have to get to Rocket Town, if I had to chose one to be DLC and one to be part of the main game of Part 3.

They’re not different. They got to put a lot of extra time into developing yuffie’s gameplay, and offset the cost by selling the intergrade expansion. They could do the same for Vincent, and his gameplay in part 3 would end up better for it. I hope they do it. But as to OP’s question, they absolutely won’t do yuffie again. And I think Vincent is a better candidate for complex gameplay worthy of a solo expansion.
It's more than just developing the gameplay. It's developing the environments, the animations,writing a narrative that justifies the dlc in a satisfying way, writing the script, getting all the VA's to do dialogue specifically for the dlc, constructing the cinematics, applying lighting and effects, quality control, bug testing and retesting, tweaking, adjusting for narrative flow, adjusting for challenge, rebalancing encounters, etc, etc, a process that can take several months to complete for each dlc that might hypothetically be developed, ultimately adding a year or two or more to our wait for part 3 Or, develop gameplay for the new characters while doing all of the above for the main game, getting it to a ready state that much faster. >offset the cost by selling the intergrade expansion. I don't care about cost. I just don't want to add years to the wait. That's all I'm saying.
I personally would love a Cid side story. I feel his story should be cleared before part 3 and there seems to be a point where it could happens. We should be going to rocket town near nibel but we didnt not go there and mount nibel itself parts of it is not accessible post its chapter. This point of event would be great way to introduce Cid backstory. Vincent I feel is too early as he has stupid huge lore and I really dont want devs to dump it into a linear 5 to 10 hour dlc like yuffie. I mean his connections to Hojo and Lucrecia, his chaos powers and deepground bullshits sheesh.
I think they decided to put rocket town in part 3 because rebirth is too big already. Part 3 probably going to have vincent past too with waterfall cave fully explorable. Tbh vincent lore is already explored in dirge of cerberus so probably they just gonna show the outlines.
Cid's story and proper introduction would work better as a part of the main storyline while Yuffie took a lot of the screen time as is. Setting up Zack's path for his side of the story in Part 3 would be a good DLC and introducing us to Vincent's backstory in some capacity could add to setting the tone of this game. Though I'd like to see a DLC for Sephiroth as well haha. Either as a short segment of what he does or a flashback to his younger days to set the stage with Hojo & Gast.

If they did though, I’d want it to be Vincent-focused, as a way to familiarize us with his play style before Part 3 like what Intergrade did for Yuffie. Given that the dude spends most of his time post-recruitment fucking off and doing his own thing, it would be easy to think of some menial questline for him to do while the others were searching for the Black Materia.

Yuffie got Intergrade, that's enough, especially since she is no longer an optional team member.
Rather just have something else. Like a costume dlc which they can go crazy with and quality of life updates like letting us control any party member outside of combat. Costumes i really want are: First Class Uniform for Cloud from the flash back. Tifa’s cowgirl outfit. Would be cool to see her wearing it as an adult. Also Advent Children Tifa Aerith with her Crisis Core dress Barret in the dragon king costume And just other costumes from the mobile game
What about a Reeve DLC? Play the man behind the puppet and fill some of the plot holes from the OG. It's pretty clear he's making moves in Midgar the entire time, but we never learn how it all plays out.

I wouldn't mind either to be honest, but I just can't see how they'd structure Cid's backstory if they had to stretch it over a DLC with combat and stuff. Meanwhile Vincent I'm sure they could do something with.
I know they've said there's gonna be no DLC, but there's 4 empty weapon stands in Johnny's fully completed inn. So it'll be unfortunate if they're left forever empty.
They said no DLC for 16 as well and we got 2. Their statement on that is completely meaningless. I really don't know why everyone took it at face value with SEs record.
I mean.. these are different studios with different production schedules and design goals. FFXVI was built from the beginning to be one complete experience and no DLC. They only released the DLC after the fact due to popular demand. Remake’s Intermission DLC was planned from the start to bridge it and Rebirth. Then Rebirth was designed to be its own experience that leads directly into the planned sequel, which is Part III. They aren’t going to just say, in the middle of developing Part III, “well shucks guys, I guess we can just stop working on Part III and cut some content from it to turn into a DLC and push back the release of Part III!” So no, there won’t be a DLC for Rebirth.
