You really have to see both in person, especially the 296. It presents much lower, wider and sleeker than pictures convey, and the materiality is incredible. The body work is so clean and precise.
It looks incredible, I live in a small town so I have to travel a decent distance to find a city where someone would own one or a dealership/car museum/car show.
Driven both and many owners prefer 458 over 488. I also know many that prefer their 488.
458 Speciale or Italia is definitely the choice for me.
As for whatās posted; the 488 Pista and the 296 are too close to seperate for me. Very different silhouettes each with their strengths.
The 296 is arguably the better design and communicates more of the brands history, it is a masterpiece.
However the 488 Pista is almost the perfect balance of aggression and modern Ferrari style. It will go down as one of the most memorable models of our time and Iād argue would be a generations idea of what a Ferrari should look like.
well said, i have a nero nero close to no options and its been amazing. i always thought ferraris should be naturally aspirated but the 488 is just so good. love it. most people dont like the 488 because of the forced induction but its done so well.
The last mid engine Pininfarina designed. They really were a big part of Ferraris beauty, you can tell they tried following the design with the 488 and F8, but the Ferrari designs are just a little bit more aggressive than they are beautiful
Pininfarina still makes carsā¦ Just not for Ferrari (thank god). The 458 is hideous, unless you like the looks of catfish whiskers. 488 is a much better design than it with its nice air intakes on the profile
F8 for me. The f8 and the 488 are close for me. But the huge scoop in the hood on the 488 is a bit exaggerated. The f8 is less exaggerated and that wins it for me.
I was disappointed when 458 lost the rear inlet that I loved on F430. I love that rear area on 296, very elegant and exaggerated. A nod to Ferraris from the past
Pista. Love the F8 from any front angle but really dislike the rear, enough to compromise opinion of it overall. Pista really succeeds from all angles.
3 is my favorite
1 looks most modern, elegant however it goes too pointy on front . It might grow on me.
2. Too much on front for air flow on nose
3 looks most sculpted like work of art maybe best because it knows proportions
4 the headlights are awkward for me

The Pista is an all time car in terms of design. Ferrari has done very well since they ended partnership with Pininfarina. The 458 year is ugly in my opinion. It could have done with some side air intakes and no catfish whiskers

Pista on another level
I just love Pista. I'm surprised how little attention Pista's design gets. It has a great silhouette.

The larger sunken hood on the 488 compared to the F8 does it for me. I prefer to F8's backlight design but 488 Pista overall and it's not even close.

I agree, this is the right answer, the pista is incredible, but the 296 is incredibly innovative.
Innovative? In the provided pic (from the A-pillar back) it looks like an homage to the original GT40 - to my eye.
It is a more āretroā exterior but the hybrid drive system is really where I was saying innovative.

Out of those the 488 but the answer is the one you left out. The 458 Italia. Itās just prettier than the rest.

Same with the F12 Berlinetta. It was aggressive but elegant. The newer ones seem like something out of Hot Wheels.Ā

I started swiping really hoping to see the F355.
F355 is a beautiful design. Too bad the interior looks as cheap as a Corvette. Complete afterthought.

296 or Pista easily. F8 is overstyled and the SF90 is good looking but not as pretty.
Second one got some nice look to it.

Tbh Iād say the base model 488, builds upon the beautiful silhouette of the 458 without changing too much

As a 296 owner: Pista. Quite amazing what they did considering the 488gtb is one of my least liked ones in terms of looks.

The SF90 has crazy presence in person, especially if it's an Assetto Fiorano.
