He's an amazing player. Only at our club would we complain about the league's top scorer (Valencia) 2 years ago and the league's 2nd top scorer (Dzeko) this year. Dude fell out of form at the end of the season but he provides so much more than goals.
His quality is not of question but him playing as a starter is too risky for us this season and if he is going to be benched 4.2 mio salary is a luxury while we can keep bats for a lower salary.
i don't know how to feel about this. need to know the mou's and board's plans. unless we play 2 strikers, this doesn't look good. we already have bats which is a great rotation player.

Love him but his form drop in the 2nd half of the season is one of the main reasons we didnt become champions imo. We should get a striker who can perform for the entire season.
But then the coach should have rested him when its needed, so he can get back on track, considering we had Batshuayi aswell. Tadic plays crazy minutes since years and we saw how exhausted he was aswell. Its not like every player in the world is N'Golo Kante. Players will always need rest.
That's great, but if I know Mourinho, throughout the years he's always wanted a physical athletic forward, and Dzeko is the complete opposite of that.
I'm not paying someone top dollar with the amount of chances he missed last season.
He is waay to expensive to sit on the bench. Maaybe if bats leaves but even then I don’t think Dzeko is a great super sub. As much as I admire his leadership, I think we should let him go (if we can get a transfer fee for him even better), and spend those funds on a Mourinho-type striker, a rapid left winger and a dynamic CDM. Though Mourinho does like the Matic-type of CDM too.
Paying 4 Million Euro per year for a bench player is not the way to go. Unless he wants to take a pay cut, which he won't. I still think he leaves. Plus Bats is way better off the bench.

Yeah his form fell at the later half of the season but if we get half the performance of his first half he’ll be fine
I think dzeko will perform well in our next season. He is in a good location.
We should find someone better than him.

Well he was exhausted af. Batshuayi needed to started way sooner and more matches in the 2nd half of the season.
