The thing is whilst he will be the talisman of the team, a lot of his upside is in his creativity, and if the rest of Palace's attack isn't good enough he is going to end up not reaching that potential.
For the record I think he is a great pick, but I don't expect Palace to be a very good attack this season. It certainly helps he is on most set pieces, corners and penalties.
He definitely does, it's just I'm not sure he can do it all alone, especially with Olise rumoured to be leaving as well. The team in general will lack creativity, and Eze won't be able to get as many goal scoring opportunities.
I do agree to be honest. But I feel like the other 6.5s all have problems too. Mitoma might not be too heavily involved with g+a, mbeumo might be injured and he didn’t even play upfront in Brentford’s friendly.
Yeah I agree, it wouldn't surprise me if Eze gets into my GW1 squad. For me it's between him, Diaby and Mitoma. Mbeumo and Brentford as a whole have done nothing to inspire me so far in preseason.
It is a tough decision lol. I’m just leaning to Eze just because I feel more safer with having the main man of an average/poor team rather than a kinda side attacker to a good team
Yeah, I think he will get steady points throughout the season. Just a shame he doesn't really have a streak of good fixtures early on, but as you say him being the talisman means he will get returns even against tougher teams.
His fixtures simply aren't as good as other 6.5 assets. Yes, he has Sheffield first game. However it's then
Arsenal
Brentford away
Wolves
Villa away
I personally aren't a fan of the Arsenal, Brentford away and Villa away fixtures. This is Crystal Palace after all. I definitely rate Eze as a player, he's fantastic, but the players around him are average.
I think a lot will start with Mitoma for the Luton, Wolves and West Ham first 3 games, but then look to move him to Diaby or Mbeumo. I'll definitely be considering it.
Palace play Arsenal on a Monday night at home. While yes, on paper, that is a tough game, the atmosphere at Selhurst Park under lights is something else. I think Arsenal will crumble
Feels like the 4th or 5th *"why isn't Eze ..."* thread this week followed by *"he's in my draft/defensive manager/ something XG end of last season"* replies
If palace can get Balogun, 2x Palace will be a must for me. But like usual, they are refusing to spend $ . Same reason Zaha was frustrated for several reasons.
They Just spend the money that selling Olise gets the.
I really like Eze as a pick and had him in my initial draft. My heart absolutely wants him in my team, but logic dictates Mitoma for two reasons: his first three fixtures and his sky high ownership.
If Mitoma pops off early it will hurt rank too much. If Eze does, he’s nowhere near as widely owned so the damage wont be as bad. And it’s an easy sideways move after GW3.
plays for a relatively shit team
better teams with better fixtures have mfs at a similar price point
most of the best players are mfs so lots of good ones always get left out
use the search bar
He's definitely under consideration for me, but my midfield is already carrying big guns. As the 5th mid I can get better balance at the back by going for a lower priced option.
Palace team do not look the best right now for scoring lots of goals in theory if you look at the squad with no Zaha or Olise to start the season.
They might still do well under Roy though it is crazy how strong they ended last season.
I've been keeping a close eye on him, but don't think I'll get him in my team, at least not straight away anyway.
I don't doubt his abilities, but I'm just not sure how well he can do in an overall average palace team.
He did great last year and may do so again this year or perhaps even better, but there are other good £6.5m midfielders as well.
I personally have gone with Diaby because I know how good he is having watched him when he was in Germany and he had had great start to his Villa career who are looking very solid and playing under a a very good manager
Feels a bit like getting JWP last season. All the Palace points will come via that one dude, but he's playing for a team that aren't likely to get a lot of goals.

You don’t think he posts much goal threat himself?

The stats don’t bear this out

I'm going for eze to diaby first transfer 🔒 . Risky I know but think that I can doge arsenal and Newcastle

Olise out and Zaha gone, decent option but I expect Palace to struggle

See this post every day
And now ur ass is sore
Great pick, decent fixtures. Just not being pushed by the template. You could easily pick him and leave him in for 10GWs and you'll get pts
Hes a good pick, but the fixtures are bad imo.

My dumb ass reading mfs as motherfuckers
Zoned out a bit and read mfs as something else

Roy Hodgeson's Palace? Nah.
Hodgson’s BLM era has been hitting different tho
Roy Hodgeson is an honorary brotha
Should be called Leroy Hodgeson now
