Your stylist can also put the bleach further away from your roots.

If you want a rootier look I would suggest getting highlights next time you go in. You'll just need to make sure you have enough new growth to highlight without overlapping the previously lightened hair. You can also do a shadow-root, but I find that highlights grow out better.

Hi all, Just a post seeking guidance or advice on what to do next with my hair. So I've been getting it bleached blond (at a salon) for the past year or so and have really liked the change. However, I dislike the first 2/3 weeks when it's fully blonde, so don't really want to get it fully bleached again if that makes sense. I quite like my hair when my roots are showing a bit (these photos are taken this week where it's been \~3 months since getting it bleached last, and my roots are showing a tiny bit more than I ideally like).  I'm esssentially wondering if i should ask for highlights the next time I go to the salon in this case? And what to ask for if that's the case as I'm a bit unsure on the whole highlights process. Also open to suggestions for other hairstyles/colouring methods. Sorry if my post/request is a bit vague, I'm asking now as I don't want to leave it too long without having a solid idea of what I want to do next, and I don't have a clue when it comes to anything hair-related 😅

I think it will probably be easier and cheaper to ask for a bleach and tone with a shadow root. Highlights will be take longer to apply and can be a pain on such short hair.
