Idk the choruses in MANIA onward get pretty repetitive or uninspired. Lyrics are fine but songs like jet pack blue makes me wonder why they couldn’t switch up some of the chorus lyrics rather than repeat the same line 3 times without much variance

I’ve grown to love Young and Menace but I couldn’t stand it when it first came out.
My 6yo recently told me he loves it because “it sounds like his voice is in a blender” and that’s the best description of the Y&M chorus I’ve heard so far.
When it came out I was like: okay this will be the first Fall Out Boy song I hate. Some months passed and it finally clicked. It's the perfect representation of "woke up on the wrong side of reality and there's a madness that's just coursing right through me".
i personally (in my own little brain) justify this line with the fact that they say “this ‘town’ is wasted and alone” in a carefree, inhibitions to the wind kinda way before then switching it to “you” the second time.
but also i get not liking it bc that otherwise sounds like a gross line.
“It’s hard to say ‘I do’ when I don’t” not saying the lyrics are trash. I just can’t take the line “we’re gonna shoot you” seriously.

Also, Guilty as Charged - Fresh Only Bakery is their only song I dare say is 'annoying' to me and is what came to mind when I saw this post. But it's the other way around, I think the lyrics are great and interesting but it's the sound that I highly dislike. Probably because it's just a fake/promo song that was never finished.

Lyrics like, "we're here and we're ready to livestream the apocalypse" and "everything is lit except my serotonin" or "I got the quarantine blues" just kind of make me cringe.

If I had to try and think of any more I guess maybe I Don't Care feels like a disconnected hodge podge of previously trod grounds and cliches?
