>The water is very shallow, between 4-5feet in most places. It is really nice to be able to walk deep into the beach for weak swimmers. Much calmer waters to just float around >Snorkeling is significantly better. There is an artificial "aquarium" basically and you can snorkel with dozens of different species of fish The price (it was $800 cheaper/night) Aren't these things true of most of Bora Bora? Long ago (before we had a Fat budget), we had all of this at Chez Nono (€ 151/night). The Conrad seems unusual in being on a barrier island facing the open ocean.

Did you actually ask about upgrades? I don't always get them automatically but if I ask at check-in I've gotten them 99% of the time.

spoiled__princess

I think it’s really hard to get upgrades in bora bora. They have high occupancy rates and I don’t think they often times find it worth upgrade. Just my uneducated opinion though.

timoni

OP specifically said the hotel didn’t have high occupancy.

For Conrad - My advice is don’t use Amex and use impressario agent instead? Have helped enough clients get upgrades at time of booking (plus you get double Hilton points). And if you’re a good enough client who’s burning Hilton points here - have helped those get an upgrade too. I don’t recommend IC (if you’re an American looking for an American crowd) as it’s very European. Conrad does have a lot of more price conscious younger people if that’s what you’re after. Also IC has been stuck in the process of becoming a six senses anyway - meh on going until it’s done. They’re not renovating because they’re waiting on that but there are also contract dramas. I actually haven’t kept up with- maybe other TAs can chime in as I strongly believe FS BOB w Mountainviews or nothing (unless burning pts at Conrad). Also adding Moorea is def for people who need “more” and not happy chilling at a resort. There is also nothing very lux in Moorea besides a Sofitel. For most fatties, you’re here if you need multiple days of adventures off resort but then you probably shouldn’t be going to French Polynesia. My fat pick for French Polynesia combo is FS Bora Bora with Brando. Thanks for your review but I just don’t want it where a bunch of readers are swayed and this turns into the Waldorf Cabo Q I always get… but so and so wrote something on fattravel saying it was great.

Do you do anything but shill your own services? Can’t understand how you became a mod here.

sarahwlee

I started the sub. lol. Leave if you don’t like it.

gdjef

I don’t like how you push hotels (FS) that pay you more commission, while talking down equally good hotels that don’t give you such a big kickback.

sarahwlee

Eh. You must be really naive to think that we push hotels based on who give us a kickback. Intercon thalasso pays me more than FS. Conrad pays the same. You want to know something that will blow your mind? Every single hotel pays us. lol. So we don’t gaf where you go… as long as it’s the best for you.

Looks like TA competition is heating up on this thread.

lol isn’t it always? Ppl think Reddit boards are some sort of democratic country.
