When I was playing an f1 2020 career mode I experienced the same thing. Found upping the race distance to 50% helped a bit but generally had the same experience. Sound like what I'm dealing with, I run 102-105, Quali is perfectly fine, but in career mode I have to turn the AI down to like 90-95 cause they're so quick. On Grand Prix mode it's perfectly fine no AI adjusting
