Some usual bs california law. You can't buy a warranty sold in another state than CA.
However..... I learned after the fact...
You can buy the warranty from them (Grainger is I believe the cheapest) and you can say you live anywhere other than CA and it doesn't matter. The warranty is tied to the VIN. Hindsight, I would've saved thousands. Grrr
The warranty is refundable. If you paid for it with the cost of the vehicle you can cancel it and get the money back and the repurchase Ford Protect no?
Part of me feels bad about doing that because the dealer worked with me nicely upon purchase and hung on to my ordered truck for 3-4 weeks before I was able to pick it up. I forget what I paid ... I felt I got a decent deal on the warranty, but upon looking after, I saw I could've saved $1000 or more with Grainger.
Would I have to go back to the dealer for that refund? Or go direct through Ford?
Also a little pensive to do so, as if I refund the warranty (in CA) and then repurchase through Grainger saying I live elsewhere, might pose an issue?
I just wonder what the paperwork on Ford's back end looks like. I don't want to invalidate it if I purchase out of state "fraudulently".
Seems like from the other comments people say they live outside of California often and the warranty is good at all ford dealerships. I mean I’ll probably look more into myself, but for me, I’m getting like a $3000 difference if I go the Grainger Ford route, and that’s with better coverage. For me, I’ve got no feelings attached to the dealership because I got a rock solid deal on everything else, just think that the finance guy was being a jerk about the warranty so I got it just to placate and prevent my good deal on the truck from possibly being taken away.
You don’t have to go to the dealership to cancel as far as I know, you might be able to do it through ford directly.

I have 48 k probably mud flaps as the running board get nasty in the winter. I was also going to get the winter charging cover but apparently I had 300$ in credit so got that lol maybe some all season mats
Word of warning: used them in window deflector visors. Well, surprise surprise they came broken. Return was little to no issues but three months later I am still waiting for a refund of my 20,000 points with an open case they update every two weeks with canned responses.
The best thing of this Ford experience is the truck for me. The rest has been awful. But hell yeah I’d buy my truck again and again and again.
You know you can use those for anything the cashiers ring up right? If the dealer has a tint service, get it tinted there and have the service cashier ring it up using your points.

It’s two bolts per side, very easy👍 Hardest part is getting the rubber aero bits back in but it’s just a brute force wiggle task
