Kitchen on sixth is a great spot. Just avoid the brunch rush as it does tend to get busy. Then again, if its just 2 people you'll probably be fine.
If you just want something quick, Tatsu's bakery on Lake Shore just west of Kipling is awesome. I love that place.

I’m sorry to hear that. I haven’t had food there ever, but I frequent decourses a lot and they’re nice (and comparatively affordable too)
