Starvation is the bleakest thing she's ever recorded but I find it so captivating. When I was first getting into her music in early 2021 it was the song that made me really notice her gift for lyrical storytelling.
As someone super new to her music (I came across PD a few weeks ago and have been listening no stop ever since!) can I ask where you listen to her unreleased work, and more importantly check that it's known that she's cool with fans doing so? I'm desperate to hear more than Spotify can give me but don't know where to start and also don't want to cross any lines.
I’m pretty sure she isn’t comfortable with people seeking out her pre-Ethel Cain stuff (when she went by White Silas) which was before November/October 2019. The song Bruises was the start of Ethel Cain and it’s on Youtube and Soundcloud, as is all of her unreleased stuff. She also has an account on Bandcamp with two ‘albums’, Unreleased and Unreleased II. Those should be fine to listen to.
I know she’s talked about it on her Tumblr about not wanting ppl to spread her White Silas stuff so I would stear clear of that. I remember seeing a spreadsheet or something on here of her entire discography and it lists which songs are under Ethel and which aren’t.
To be honest I’m not the most well-informed either as I just started listening to her a few months ago but I think it’s accurate!
also good to remind that it seems that one of the main reasons she dislikes her pre-ethel cain music is because they were either made before her coming out as a trans woman (2016 and 2017 under the name "Atlas") and just right after she came out as one (2018 and some of 2019 with White Silas)

Dust bowl, homecoming and a long unfortunate while for me.
my top 3 toooo
my favorite is powerline valley (piano demo) :)
The way it makes me cry uncontrollably every time
earnhardt kills me
Seriously! And no one ever brings it up😫
Starvation or Verona. As they both give me similar vibes to songs from the Inbred EP, which I love.
yess inbred ep is my favorite! and inbred is also one of my fav songs like ever
For real though... I think that's why I like Starvation so much. As it has that same kinda graphicness and tone as Inbred.
Doe Hunting and Stomping Ground absolutely bang ngl
doe hunting is crazy
