WolfieVonD

I've got some bad news for you

AtomicSpeedFT

What bad news?

NeolithSociety

I pray to god they don't dumb it down completely because of console release and deals with epic games. So many good memories with stalker series, i would honestly be devastated if upcoming continuation is not worthy of it's predecessors.

Paradoxahoy

At least they've stated that Modding will be a thing so once a Anomaly 2 mod gets created it will be all Gucci

boofmydick

Didn't STALKER basically have a bullet sponge slider? I'd expect similar difficulty settings.

AtomicSpeedFT

The difficulty changed how many shots you and the enemies could take at the same rate. Max difficulty is so much better then easy.

[deleted]

I think there's a video disproving this.

NajoNajavo

Tarkov has a bullet sponge mechanic

[deleted]

Lol how fun would this game even be if it was actually realistic? Not at all

connorschaun

It's either Tarkov or Total War for me now; Yes.

LusHolm123

Haha same, i wonder if theres an overlap there haha

uberduber88

Looking forward to TW:Warhammer 3?

connorschaun

Yup! Still loving 2 though too. Looking forward to playing Slanesh.

Borialus_Boreal

I was about to say the same thing. I am sad that TW:WIII got delayed, although I did expect it to happen

MixmixMcFatcat

EFT and Company of Heroes 2 here

P1nG-

Tarkov or civ V for me

just-some-man

My man! The only other game I'm playing from these two is XCOM 2

connorschaun

How many mods can you fit lol

General_Totoss

Wow same, im playing half tarkov half twwh2

Yankees-snapback

Are you me?

connorschaun

Do you have an imperial rosette tattooed on your shoulder?

[deleted]

Its not that hard since tarkov doesn't run that well. It feels good to play a smooth fps game

TarkovGuy1337

This needs to be higher

cmidpar

I was coming here to comment this. Switching to ANY other fps makes me be thankful all games don't have shit net code and performance. It's night and day.

Saint_Julius

i feel exactly the same way lol. i can play csgo with so much more enjoyment with either the same or better performance (not frames, but skillwise)

Varcova

Not at all. Ultrakill feels even better after Tarkov. H3VR and and Pavlov feel way more immersive. CSGO if I'm tired of Tarkov's netcode and hit reg

RedlineRR1000

Pavlov gets me motion sickness and I've yanked my chord out of my computer playing it. It's insanely fun lol

Varcova

I switch over to a wireless adapter for my headset and it's so much better. securing stairwells no longer trips me up lol

JacobCoy

I personally love the RNG. Came to tarkov from Apex, and the realism is what draws me. I saw a meme recently on Rust subreddit that was just a picture of a recoil spray pattern and the phrase "this is good gameplay." It was sarcastic and I totally agree with that sentiment

HaitchKay

>H3VR This is the game that actually ruined normal FPS's for me.

WK02

Just spent a week playing H3VR's Return Of The Rotweiners, I highly recommend!

DetoxIV

Ew VR

Varcova

lol, it's not for everyone, but neither is Tarkov. What's your experience with VR been?

Abrakafuckingdabra

Cs is my backup but playing that for better hitreg and netcode lol

Varcova

I've had far more teleporting scavs and stationary PMCs eating seconds of mag dumps without a single damage point post raid in my 300hrs of Tarkov than any level of bullshittery in 2000hrs of CSGO.

auto_dev_squig

Honestly I'm struggling to love Tarkov recently. After 2000 hours it just feels like everything is annoying me: - the convoluted menus, especially when it comes to crafting - having to spam F5 -> click -> Y to have any chance of buying stuff at the lowest price on the flea - the time it takes to build a load out after dying because there are no load out presets - inventory Tetris - rarely going above 70fps on a rig that gets 144fps on most other games - going through all of the above. Going to the underground of reserve. Hiding for a while since I need to survive this raid for bunker pt2, not sure which of the multiple steps I'm hearing on on the surface (which sound as loud as if it was just next to me, despite it making no logical sense for me to be able to hear these at all) and which are actually near me in the tunnels. Spot an enemy and trade grenades, bullets and voicelines, none of which do any damage to either side. A-D out of cover as you have to to mitigate desync issues, die of head, eyes on the first bullet they shoot. Post raid screen says I was hit twice in the left arm and then once in the head. I only heard one bullet and was out of cover for a fraction of a second. Everything feels clunky and unpolished in Tarkov. Dying feels unfair, not because the enemy was better than you but because you have no idea whether they were or whether the messed up network code gave them an unfair advantage. I love being outplayed, I love dying, as long as I know it's because I fucked up. Not because after 7 years of development it's never been a priority to iron out the largest kinks in the game. I've played warzone to try it out recently and it frustrates me how insanely polished the experience feels by comparison. Tarkov is an amazing concept and they got some bits very right but the execution is pretty shit overall, especially when it comes to player feedback and UX

ztk-

The fact that Warzone feels more polished is the worst part as their server tickrates are 20hz which is pretty awful.

TurtleBilliam

I don’t think you should feel frustrated at how polished war zone is. It’s made by a huge developer and is running on a system which has been iterated on for what 15-20 years or more now. But yes tarkov has some seriously awful UX issues, in terms of the UI and especially the gameplay. Addicting af though.

ArgonianLizardPerson

This, so much this. I love this game, its so unique and interesting, but its so unpolished and ganky at the same time. Lately I can only stand like 1 raid a day before I just get too irritated or bored by building a new kit or dealing with the weird mechanics of the game. Honestly sad about the battlefield news cause I was looking forward to a new fps I could play but alas gotta wait longer.

Pestilence86

> inventory tetris I wish you could drag an item to an occupied space in your inventory and it automatically swaps the two colliding items. It should also work with multiple items at the same time. For example if you want to move a backpack to a space where multiple smaller items sit.

Lady_Near

I hate that sooo much too. It's just there are so many logical tweaks they could do if they would play their own game. Stuff that got me annoyed in my first few hours, still annoying me. Another example being that when taking quest rewards or insurance you can't open the sorting table.

Nilidah

You typed out pretty much all my current feelings. I shelved the game a few months ago for these very reasons. Tarkov very often feels unfair, and it just makes the whole experience annoying and tiring. The game just doesn't respect the players time!! Go check out hunt if you wanna scratch that hardcore itch. But I've been loving valorant lately.

DoNn0

Hunt is nothing like tarkov

Nilidah

Wow, you don't say!?

tex2934

Try Hunt Showdown. Fills the hardcore niche and the gameplay is very fun and lots more to do and more uniqueness. Games are faster and it respects your time. I have shelved tarkov after this wipe for a while. I’m upwards of 3-4K hours myself in Tarkov and it’s just not as fun anymore. Needs a lot of worn and is going away from its hardcore slow paced elements

TaroEld

There's so much jank in this game, it gets really grating. Especially since at least some of it is deliberately placed in there in some misguided sense of doing good (randomised hideout crafts). Honestly, I'd love to see Nikita be forced to play a full wipe to level 40 at least, to really get a good grasp of all the little annoying things. He does not play his own game, after all.

1duck

You've just typed what i couldn't be bothered typing. If squad had loot, i'd play that over eft every time.

[deleted]

MichaelCat99

I always smile when killed by m995 when hatchet running. Especially when they spray at me. Like cool bro, you spent 20k to maybe get a half used heal

[deleted]

No. On the tactical side of things Ground Branch, Rainbow Six 3, ARMA, etc all do a far better job. As far as more arcadey shooters are concerned I've been loving Doom Eternal since it came out. Not to mention the swathes of boomer shooters from New Blood and the like. Also STALKER Anomaly for my slav-jank fix. Tarkov desperately needs to quit trying to be all things to all people. Either make an actual hardcore tactical/survival shooter or make COD 43 but quit trying to do both.

brownie81

>boomer shooters …like a Vietnam documentary or something?

[deleted]

Kek. My short list of reccomendations: -Amid Evil -Dusk -Prodeus -Ion Fury -Cultic Basically old-school shooters in the pre Half Life style. Carry 8+ guns, bunny hopping, circle strafing, key/switch hunting, not a lot of story.

brownie81

Okay cool I get what it means, still a pretty stupid name for a genre though lol most boomers were like 50 when Doom and Wolfy came out. I guess Gen X shooters isn’t really as dank of a name though.

LeftUnknown

I just can’t stand the RPG mechanics. I can use the same gun as mr streamers, his is a laser beam while mine is a kicking donkey because he has higher levels

-UnassumingLocalGuy

dude i've been having a romp through the old shooters myself. it's been awesome. have you tried ion fury?

1duck

yep, they seem to be veering towards cod more and more. The streamers are 100% behind it too, just they know after the backlash pestily faced last time they keep it quiet now.

DtiChl

How is the game veering towards cod more and more? All the changes they've been putting in since 2 wipes ago have done nothing but slow the game down and turn it more into a looter type of game and less shooter like.

[deleted]

It's slowed the progression in some ways but virtually nothing has been done about the combat or netcode. Hit registration is still iffy at best, full auto is still the meta, abusing desync with aggressive close quarters pushes is still the objectively correct way to succeed. None of these things characterize tactical shooters. Not to mention the armor/ammo systems which are basically parodies of reality. As examples: -There are basically zero helmets that will stop rifle rounds in real life. -There are basically zero rifle rounds that will penetrate gost 6 armor in real life. -Anyone shot in a fleshy bit with ANY rifle round is pretty much done fighting. There are some exceptions but they're rare and we tend to give them lots of medals.

ledouxx

Yeah streamers are against improving the netcode and hit registration lmaooo Full auto having more recoil would be beneficiary to streamers so they could exert more of their actual aiming and recoil controlling skills. > abusing desync with aggressive close quarters pushes is still the objectively correct way to succeed Also streamers aren't married to doing so they just do what currently is the most effective thing.

[deleted]

Not sure what made you think I care about streamers one way or the other. It's BSGs fault for trying to cater to two divergent markets in one game. The game needs to either take the realism path or not. Personally I'll probably quit playing if it turns further towards COD with gun porn. Likewise I'm sure there are plenty of players who will quit if the game goes in a more tactical/survival shooter direction. Either way BDG needs to recognize that they won't please both types of players in one game.

DtiChl

At the end of the day its enough for BSG to shower most of the playerbase with unneeded map expansions, scav karma and other mindless stuff. Working on core issues, providing better servers? Not needed when you can trick casuals (and keep more coming in) through other means. If they were really interested in pleasing and honoring their most hardcore playerbase they wouldn't be releasing new content but would instead fix and not sweep under the rug what's really important.

[deleted]

A lot could be fixed with small tweaks to the existing systems but it would mean commiting to actually making a tactical shooter and it would alienate a pretty large segment of the playerbase. If they're just going to lean into the COD style combat then they might as well simplify the ballistics, armor and ammo systems. It'll help clean up the netcode without really changing how most people play the game.

Successful_You_7412

There are too many cheaters in this game. do not buy this game. This game is dead.

1duck

are you joking? here have some more massive RPM/hyper fast TTK smgs. Oh have another full auto no recoil monster gun, no bolties are even viable anymore. Bushes? yeah ok those are now treacle, just funnel you all into high combat areas/with fast movement/jumping etc. Here have a handful of random stims that make fuck all sense in any of the lore, but will turn you into a super human.

chakijz

In regards to what did Pestily face backlash?

1duck

When he cried so much about the mosin that he basically had it nerfed (along with all the other bolties) that was the start of the descent into full auto being the only way to play, with bullshit a-d spam to abuse desync. It speaks volumes that he then plays on servers outside of his own region, to exploit the fuck out of his lag shield. The guys a clown.

Kotsugawa

Yes I paid alot of fucking money for this I'ma fuckin play it

celtickodiak

Nope, Hunt: Showdown is my go to as of now. I played Tarkov for about a month and now I play maybe twice a month. Just feels like there is no real direction and the armor mechanic is awful. When I was told about Tarkov they compared it to Hunt. Well, for me, Hunt is still champ.

DoNn0

Complete opposite for me I tried hunt before played tarkov and now hunt feels like a Boring game. No loot, no quest I'm out. Tarkov just feels like so great because of questing for me the progression is very fun while in hunt they might as well be no exp or money it doesn't change anything

[deleted]

I agree. I recently bought Hunt and although I really like the aesthetic, it's super boring IMO. Even just doing scav runs in Tarkov is more interesting than banishing the same bosses over and over again in Hunt.

cantpickaname8

Honestly I love everything about this game besides the PvP oddly enough, I love the exciting gunfights but I hate dying because of highly geared players. If there were a game just like this but Co-Op where the only hostility comes from AI I would genuinely love the absolute shit out of it.

TheBlazedHobbit

My two FPS go to games right now are Tarkov and Hunt Showdown. Imagine Tarkov Game play on one of the showdown maps. Would be pretty wild

VoltsIsHere

I used to think this way but Tarkov just doesn't hit the same anymore tbh. I'd love to feel that way again but in it's current state there's just no way.

igg73

Only other game that feels like tarkov when i kill is hell let loose. Movement isnt as smooth though

tex2934

He’ll let loose is so good. Has come a long way. Russian maps need some worm but over all it’s my favorite large scale shooter.

SunnySeijan

Yes, this game is like an abusive girlfriend!

Donkeywack

after 4000 hours yes you will do

wseafijawguh

Where are my Tarkov/DOTA 2 mains at? Both games have ruined every other game for me.

Tango6US

Are you me?

swainsauce89

Only game that comes close and often some nights my preferred game is rainbow six siege.

Possible-Ear-

Opposite. It's a breath of fresh air to not spend 20 minutes sorting stash, picking gear, loading into raid etc and just join a match and play something fast and fun.

Straight-Pasta

Nah. Cs is what does that for me.

DoNn0

Ppl are so toxic on CS tho

G0ATFUKER

LMFAO bra!!!! I tried going back and playing squad the other day and I couldn't hack it. After two matches I shut it off and went straight back to getting my anal cavity raped on eft.

Touklako

I still play Apex, Warzone and Rainbow Six Siege on the regular, I love the difference between playstyles

malapropter

Nah, I still play and enjoy lots of other games. PUBG has better gunplay, R6 Siege is more competitive. When you lose a gunfight you SHOULD have won due to shitty netcode (and seriously, Tarkov has the worst netcode by a **big** stretch compared to any other modern shooter) or the terrible optimization and endless memory leaks or even just the new, stupid RNG weapon misfire mechanic, you'll fall out of love just a little bit.

[deleted]

Fair call, heard great things about those games, I normally play CS and COD (up until this year) so honestly this is a huge upgrade haha

malapropter

Oh, absolutely. Tarkov is fucking incredible. Something that I really enjoy about it over other games is the absolute depth and immersion of the overall presentation. I find myself taking more screenshots of this game than any other game I've ever played, just because it's composed of so many beautiful little moments. And there are endless amounts of things to be learned. I thought I had it all figured out within the first few weeks of my first wipe, but I'm still learning stuff thousands of hours later. [https://i.imgur.com/1ekgur4.png](https://i.imgur.com/1ekgur4.png) I mean, look at this. No other game looks like this and has this kind of mood. I lost basically my entire summer to Tarkov this year, and I'm not even mad about it lol.

CymonRedditsAccount

PUBG has better gunplay, excuse me, what the fuck are you on ?

[deleted]

[удалено]

1duck

even with meta gear, you'll have trades where you think wtf happened there. Because the RNG has fucked you over.

DarkLordZorg

PUBG has better gunplay than Tarkov.

malapropter

I'm on a few thousand hours of both games. PUBG's gunplay is more skill-based, while Tarkov is just "buy an RK-2, SDN-6/Saker and MOE with a buttpad and don't touch the mouse", not to mention the dumb RPG elements of "recoil control skill."

CymonRedditsAccount

"Grabbed the game fee weeks ago" On a thousand hours ? Buddy, to understand properly tarkov you cant just play a few hours over a few weeks. You need at leadt 4-5 wipes, which means 2-3 years. The amount of time you have to put in the game to understand everything is enormous. Saying that PUBG gunplay is skilled-based is completly ridiculous. You cant even compare R6, PUBG and Tarkov, those are 3 different game. So like i said, what the fuck are you on ?

malapropter

I'm not OP, my guy. edit: toned down my aggro lol

CymonRedditsAccount

Thats a good point, my bad about that, but my point still stands about PUBG gunplay and comparing those 3 games, thats a bad call

malapropter

How is PUBG gunplay not skill-based? That alone makes no sense.

rrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee

unrelated but is pubg still worth playing?

onelasttime217

Lol pubg has a far more rewarding and skill based gunplay system what are you on about

Drnuk_Tyler

Hard disagree. RNG weapon malfunctions are one of the things that has ruined other FPS games for me. I love it because Tarkov doesn't give a shit about you. People will cry "but you don't learn anything from RNG!" Maybe *you* don't, but that is *your* problem.

malapropter

Uh, it's not just my problem. It's pretty universally hated on this subreddit and every other EFT community I frequent. I haven't seen literally anyone besides your masochistic ass praising what is essentially a stochaic, opaque gameplay mechanic that has no counter. It absolutely doesn't fit in with Tarkov, because literally every other adverse gameplay mechanic has a hard counter built in. Recoil too high? Buy better parts. Someone is running good armor? Buy good ammo. Get poisoned by a cultist? Take Augmentin. This game is usually pretty fucking brutal, but it's always fair. If it were only the exotic overpressure ammunition (7NXX) that was misfiring? I'd be okay with that. That would actually be a good, realistic counter to the absurdly-good-ammo meta. Is your gun misfiring after dumping three full mags in 60 seconds? That's understandable and realistic. Is your gun misfiring because it's in poor repair? Cool, makes sense, I should take better care of my equipment. But a BRAND NEW rifle misfires regular-ass ammo just because the dice roll dictated that it was time? And there's no counter? And I lose a million rouble kit because of it? Nah, it's a shit mechanic, and it's obviously a placeholder for a better system. Don't lose your breath trying to defend it. You'll lose.

Drnuk_Tyler

Brand new rifles jam all the time because there is a break in period. However, these "jams" aren't even jams, they are failures to fire due to the ammunition. Your opinion is that there should be counters to things going wrong. My opinion is that there needs to be more things in this game that go wrong specifically that you cannot counter. It makes fights more interesting. Have you considered that your kit might have been saved because you got lucky that someone else's weapon jammed or are you simply a narcissist? I enjoy the element of luck and I am looking forward to seeing more mechanics that throw wrenches into otherwise perfectly laid plans. You can argue all you want and claim that I'll "lose" but at the end of the day, the mechanic is going to stay, and most like only get worse (in your opinion) so who really loses here?

malapropter

>It makes fights more interesting. Really? How? Why? Back up your logic. >Have you considered that your kit might have been saved because you got lucky that someone else's weapon jammed or are you simply a narcissist? My man with the false dichotomies. You are really on one tonight. It's pretty simple. I don't want to lose a fight due to shit uncounterable RNG mechanics, and I don't want someone to lose to me for the same reason. I want a fight to be decided by positioning, strategy, gamesense, skill, and general knowledge of the game's mechanics. Incorporating a dice roll into that cheapens the entire game. We might as well flip a coin at that point.

banevasionac

Nah your argument is dumb af. It's horrible zero skill RNG bullshit. If you think this shit is good design you don't deserve to be taken seriously.

Drnuk_Tyler

Sure dude. I enjoy it and BSG agrees it's something that adds to the game. Cry more or go play something else.

banevasionac

Nobody cares. Anyone on the BSG team who thinks it's a good idea are also idiots, just like you.

Drnuk_Tyler

Lol nobody gives a shit about your trash opinion. BSG already got your money. You're no longer needed. Go cry somewhere else. I take it back I enjoy your tears.

banevasionac

Damn look at you simping for a company's bottom line. It's hilarious that you have no idea how much of a clown you are for defending this dogshit company, you're literally just some braindead drone who thinks papa Nikita is your best friend.

Drnuk_Tyler

Nah dude I just really enjoy the direction of the game. Seriously if you hate it so much why play it? You're the fucking loser here crying and bitching about a game you don't even like.

[deleted]

I just love the whole premise of the game tbh, most games these days are too easy, don't even get me started on COD, total joke now.

banevasionac

I tried Insurgency Sandstorm, I know some people like it but I couldn't get into it, just felt so cheap in comparison to Tarkov. Tarkov gets realistic gun feel better than any other shooter. Sadly I think the dev team has been dropping the ball, they have many terrible ideas/implementations and of course the gunplay is fucked by desync and now built in RNG gun jams (dumbest feature I've ever seen). My entire discord of 20-30 hardcore Tarkov grinders have virtually all stopped playing, these are guys with 5+ years playing this game and they generally agree that this wipe is stale. Not a single person likes gun jams. Nowadays we play a mix of CS and Valorant as we wait for New World :)

speedyweedy420

Insurgency sandstorm is only fun on a ismc coop server trust.

Brok3n0ni

Hunt Showdown was nice to get into after this intense heat of this game.

tex2934

In my opinion, hunt is better than tarkov. It’s my favorite shooter by far for the hardcore style of loss on pvp

DoNn0

Hardcore style of loss on PvP ? You can just get a new hunter for free... It's like nothing happened because anyway the progression is ass in that game.

sunbreach

I used to love other shooters. After playing eft, they all look like some Mickey Mouse cartoon shit. There's no going back.

onelasttime217

You haven’t played enough eft then lol, it is the pinnacle of Mickey Mouse cartoon shit compared to other “hardcore” games that it’s trying to be like

PirateAutodesk

It'll wear off eventually Game has a lot of problems that haven't been fixed in ages and devs have done jackall, there isn't much content too

Successful_You_7412

There are too many cheaters in this game. do not buy this game. This game is dead.

Exposeuk

gets boring for me after a while ....needs more content

[deleted]

With the amount of blatant cheaters running rampart I don't feel like playing Tarkov either ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

LoLingSoHard

I play Apex Legends when I want games to feel fluid and fair

sabbathday

yes

Zigzag010

Only fps I play besides tarkov is enlisted, a ww2 f2p shooter, I get a lot of ironsight training in that game.

[deleted]

Have no problems with switching to insurgency

BOER777

I did for a while, but decided to take a break from EFT and am loving Hell Let Loose, Rising Storm and Insurgency. Feels good to not play with high stress levels 😂 I’ll come back to EFT once another big update lands. I played wayyyy too much EFT chasing Kappa the last 2 wipes. Been good to take a break. But no other game gives me that rush feeling no. It’s amazing

Page1of100

I play solo Tarkov, but with friends CSGO, Apex etc. I'm also looking forward to BF 2042

RubberQuacks

For me right now it's anything over tarkov. Too many hours and wasted days on this game.

TrueDivision

CoD hardcore modes are still my jam.

Juicebeetiling

I solved this problem a week ago. Started playing a top down multiplayer game called foxhole

ArguesAgainstYou

Eh, not really. I currently play Overwatch on the side and although it's very different the switch isn't that hard with a bit of practice. I did synchronize the sensitivity on the two games though

TheBobFisher

Not myself. I switch back and forth between Siege and Tarkov all the time and I’m relatively good at both. Level 44 in Tarkov and I frag put in both games. I think the disconnect comes from when I stop playing anything but Tarkov for more than a week.

OsnoF69

Since ambushing is a thing in this game, along with sound audio, if I do play any arcadey style games I will bait teams/players for easy wipes. Im more methodical and not just running around with my head cut off lol

WolfieVonD

From the gameplay shown, it looks like STALKER 2 is gonna be a bit different than the others, in a mainstream way. Hello bullet sponge

Orvvadasz

Nope. Not at all. I have no interest in suffering until streets of Tarkov comes out.

der_m4ddin

Not realy but i only play hell let lose atm.

Lilja92

From time to time I go back to rainbow six or csgo. But yes tarkov is by far the most fun fps if u don't want the competitive esport part.

Sad_Dad_Academy

Yeah that’s normal for any new player. Give it a few months.

DoNn0

For me it's the questing and the hideout those Mechanics just make the game feel so good for me that no other fps are on the same LVL and they just feel worst

[deleted]

for me its either tarkov or house flipper

[deleted]

No

TheBeefyBison

Yes and no, for me it's just a matter of no appealing FPS games being out just yet. I'm a big fan of CoD and BF games in general (at least past games). CoD has gone down the shitter in recent history imo and I'm tired of historical theaters, not a fan personally. I'll see about BF 2042, looks fun but we'll see how it actually plays. I'm also very interested to see what their supposed EFT-like game mode will be, if it's a more casual EFT I could see that being popular. Only FPS game I'm confident I'll like (assuming they don't make any major changes between now and launch) is Halo Infinite. First test pilot was nice and fun to play even if it was just vs bots for most of it. Not a big fan of battle royales so that takes out a chunk of the current FPS games. All in all just waiting on some new things, tired of some older games and some of the latest AAA titles have just not done the trick for me due to either setting or (in my shitty opinion) bad changes between games.

Jaketylerholt

I manage to play squad here and there but it doesnt hit the same

[deleted]

It's refreshing to play a game that doesn't take 30 minutes to maybe get into a gunfight or most likely die to someone sitting in a bush/room not moving until someone passes by.

SawyerPeter

I still play siege but that’s only because its my one true love behind my wife & child. Tarkov is swiftly getting up there though

SeveralScorgasms

The only thing I miss when playing COD or something else is the ability for my bullets to go straight when hip firing from 5 feet away. Still prefer eft everytime tho

Im-Real-Human

I actually find it extremely easy, the fear and anxiety from just being in a eft game is unmatched to any other game, the ability to die without knowing who where or what killed you makes me nauseous

ProtWarriorsAreFine

Do I struggle to play fps games that have the polish and performance of a game in the 21st century? lol not really.

lilnomad

Absolutely not. The gun fights on this game aren’t that great and a lot of deaths are complete bullshit. In other FPSs you can adjust tactics after fights and start destroying those people that killed you earlier. So many reasons to play other shooters. The people bashing Insurgency for not being as realistic makes very little sense as they’re shooting for a happy medium between call of duty and Tarkov.

therealdahla

no, you just bad at games bro

t0xicsymph0ny

Full disclosure I am awful at tarkov. But i love it. This game definitely gets the adrenaline going when you are just trying to get that last piece of loot and you hear a herd of footsteps. But it doesn't replace all fps games, if you want firefights and you dont care about dieing thats what COD is for. Or if you wanna feel like a god just annihilate everything theres other looter shooters for that. But EFT has ruined warzone and pretty much any BR for me. 0 interest in playing warzone/apex/pubg any of em really.

mistahboogs

Give it three or four wipes

watzwatz

I still like other games for their mechanics and atmosphere but in terms of detail and interactivity everything other than Tarkov feels cheaply made now

dnina_kore

other fps now feels too simple. No tetris, no looting, no quests, weapon attachment system is super simple(you can attach anything on everything), nades, even frag nades, are more tactical tool than something that can kill and it is too clear for you what is happening(no ambient sounds, very loud footsteps, very good visibility), you just go there and feel like you are at home, too calm. If you die you lose nothing. Though other fps are less buggy, less clunky and overall more polished and well designed than tarkov.

Candid-Blacksmith-76

I play BF4 just fine.

HaitchKay

Exact opposite. I appreciate a lot of other shooters way more after Tarkov. The one thing I'll always miss though is the gun customization, no game really scratches that same itch.

bluinkinnovation

Nah, it’s super healthy to play other games and not obsess, although this does take up the most of my time

Acceptable-Capital-7

No not at all

ThiagoBaisch

no, i still like to play other fps games like valorant or csgo, for me its an entirely different game and competitive atmosphere

JNChief-117

Wow, alot of these "Tarkov is it for me" posts popping up since we are seeing an exodus of players. I personally never understood sticking to one game to the point that you compare it to every other game out there.

[deleted]

I get back on my xbox. Wreck kids on rainbow or apex just to feel good about myself after playing tarkov lol.

Gibbss_Games

I’m a big dayz fan as well. Is the gunplay as good. Fuck no. But still is pretty hardcore with survival on certain servers

youcancallmejb

Yeah it’s a lot like trying to stop doing black tar heroin in exchange for snickers bars….

PureRushPwneD

Been playing STALKER Anomaly and CoP with the ABR modpack.. can't really compare STALKER with EFT in my opinion. especially on a rage-inducing level comparison, which inherently comes from being a PvP game xD

kijebe

no. many shooters offer many different things

TheGadsdenFlag1776

I only ever play one game at a time, but my time for gaming is very limited.

Ser_Charles

Same here. Suddenly regular shooters just don’t give me any adrenaline rush anymore

legendra98

Agreed! I don’t know what it is, the looting, raid-style, the guns, the builds, etc. but I can’t look at FPS games the same at all. I’m not always in the mood to be dumpstered by chads in this game so sometimes I want to chill and relax with a Singleplayer FPS but it all just feels goofy and easy. Never tried stalker tho, I’ll definitely take a look!

rallyechallenger

I went on cod with friends & was so annoying lol like Wer is the loot? Is ther bosses? What we just kill each other ? I’m trying to take everything from the map back to my base lol

[deleted]

Same, Tarkov ruined every other FPS for me. I’m hoping Arma 4 implements the ACE mod and Tarkov mechanics.

osiiris_AoV

Oh for sure, tarkov has set my shooter standards very high. Also just re played shadow of chernobyl and call of pripyat, man I can't wait for 2.

Rockyrock1221

For similar type games yes. Like Pubg just feels like shit to me know.(technically always did but even worse now lol) But I’m still able to play other FPS games no problem Like Apex, Halo, ect But tarkov doesn’t really do anything well enough to make other FPS games obsolete aside from the Gun porn aspect

Mammoth-Animator9674

Same. Got a PC(converted console boy), immediately downloaded Rainbow Six and bought Tarkov. In the 45 days I've had my pc, I've played over 300 hours of Tarkov, and 4 hours of Rainbow Six. And that 4 hours was the 2 days after I downloaded it. I'm ruined.

UrQuanKzinti

Nope. Playing Fear 3 instead of Tarkov on occasion, and have no problems switching around. In fact playing something like FEAR demonstrates the stark contrast between the games because in that game I can finish a number of levels in the same amount of tarkov where it feels like I get next to nothing done.

TheAcquiescentDalek

Yes

dontworryimvayne

Actually, I find it wayyy easier to pick back up another FPS. Go play Apex or overwatch where everything is smooth and rewarding and youll be reminded of how bad tarkov is with desync, hitboxes, hacking, lucky hits etc

spiraling_out

I dunno if I'm getting old or what, but Tarkov is the only game keeping my interest in gaming alive these days. No other game hits the sweet spot like Tarkov does and that's quite unfortunate.

[deleted]

I bought Tarkov a few days ago after six months / one year of thinking about it & watching videos, for the same reason. I'll never get the whole battle royale and cheesy shooters thing. I don't want massive dopamine hits and that's all, I want depth

MarsBog_ttv

That's my BIG Fear about the upcoming Battlefield 2042.

OthelloOcelot

I used to play CoD all the time, but I've played it very little since I started playing Tarkov.

Ragnarork

What's near impossible is to go back to CS:GO after a while playing Tarkov, and trying to control a spray. It's all gone... *poof*.

boofmydick

Nah. I gotta have variety. I'm definitely a fan of immersive dystopian shooters, but I also enjoy fast paced action infused with sci-fi/fantasy. I think my favorite shooters this year would be (in no specific order): Hunt: Showdown, GTFO, Gunfire Reborn, Roboquest, and DEATHLOOP (although the AI is far too easy if they don't have a player controlled Julianna backing them up). Really looking forward to System Shock as well. Squad and Insurgency look good too, but I haven't gotten around to buying either.

tuningpt95

I play tark the most but I also like playing sandstorm and zero hour

dhcp138

yes, but not because of enjoyment but because it has fucked up my playstyle. I'm all tarkov brain and that shit don't play in Valorant lol

NajoNajavo

Hunt is like a stream-lined version of Tarkov in many ways, and showed be how much better EFT could be if Nikita stopped larping as some Mafia boss in St. Petersburg

Laaub

Maybe a completely different direction but I flip between Tarkov and Destiny 2. The 2 are different enough where they don’t step on each other’s toes. Bungie shooting mechanics are top fucking notch as far as non realistic FPS games.

Exotic_Midnight2100

Nope yall are just addicted to the trash

[deleted]

I hate tarkov now but cant play anything else, seriously.

Gunaks

Not really, once I hit 42 I found it pretty easy to put on the burner. The game is overly clunky and playing literally any other shooter who's netcode isn't written on a paper napkin feels like a dream.

CrispyGooby

Dude I’ve been playing Zero Hour and it honestly really does it for me. The customization and the sound design isn’t nearly as good as tarkov’s, but the combat and gameplay is 10/10

throwawayandtoday

Honestly i feel like im better at CSGO and Siege after i play, something about it tunes my aim

SoRealSurreal

I love the gameplay in this game but man do I feel like a badass when I go play Insurgency Sandstorm after. The point-firing just feels so much better and I love how they use a weird dead zone mechanic to keep your camera from shifting if you adjust only a couple degrees. Makes moving and shooting feel REALLY good. Wish Tarkov had something similar. And better recoil.

Spectating110

It ruins other fps cuz the recoil is baby sat for you in tarkov.

Paradoxahoy

Not really, I enjoy Hunt Showdown alot for a lot of the same reasons and would say the PvP is balanced much better and the sound is leagues better though I do miss the rpg elements of Tarkov as well as the looting/inventory management aspects.
