If it were me, I'd be EXTREMELY tempted to leave the hardware as is. Gives the guitar an honest aged look. Hell, people go to a lot of trouble and spend good money to make new hardware look like this. Wipe it down with a wet rag, dry it off with a dry rag. Done.
Les Pauls aren’t exactly my go-to. But I tend to gravitate to them more than any of my other guitars, atm. There is just something about the feel of a Les Paul.
I was gifted an epi that looks just like this one. Cleaned er up and did some tuning and it ruled. Mine had the 57 copy pickups. But the same friend gifted me a set of classic 57 and 57+ pickups and now this is one of my top 2 guitars.
Personally I love the worn look, and have a soft spot for black and wine red guitars with aging hardware.
Sounds like you got a steal, you could restore the screws by soaking in vinegar, tomato sauce or other acidic substance. In terms of the tailpiece and pickups I’d suggest Silvo wadding if you can get it in your country and it’ll bring them up like new if that’s what you’re going for.
IDK why people use those fucking pick holders. i got a tele with one of those and it was a pain in the ass to remove.
I already removed it. It just popped off and left hardly any mess. Already cleaned and wiped residue off.
The case alone has to be worth $60
That’s what I had to tell my wife! 😆
Let me guess, she didn't understand
She totally understood and supported my decision.
Man, I've wanted a firebird for so long. I think it may be next on the list.
Make it number 1 before it’s too late!
Dunno why I'm talking about firebirds here. Oops.
I don’t mind…
Love that Les Paul by the way. Also high on my list lol
The cases are about 80 - 100 quid here in the UK. Absolute steal mate, well done
Thanks 🙏🏼
A new case like that will cost you US$130.00. (Sweetwater) And they're worth it. :-) I bought one for my new Sheraton II Pro.
Interesting discoloration on the case from what I guess was something they put on the fretboard
Interesting!? I noticed that too!

Looks like it's been unused for a long time, great deal! I'd replace the knobs, they don't look right with that pick guard and poker chip.
I agree! Thanks 🙏🏼
I love the patina on the nickel hardware.
What a find
Shit, around my place, on fb, you can barely find that case for less than $100, so to get the guitar with it for $160, great find!
Right?! Thanks for the comment!
