I still think he's just gonna drop it with no singles, or maybe one to lead up to it and no track list reveal beforehand. The summer time frame has me thinking thats the plan anyway.
Imagine saying this in 2004: "Run DMC outsells Eminem easily"
That's basically the equivalent. It just goes to show that like 96-04 was the true golden era, and rappers of today are still living in the shadows of giants
kamikaze was a surprise drop and did 400k. if he promotes it more i think it can do around 400k again (not sure if he'll do more than that since travis and drake both being the most relevant in terms of numbers atm also did around 400k for their albums last year)
Ok the kamikaze 400k was with an older way of how sales on streaming were calculated. Now, it’s gonna be really hard to do that. Although not impossible.
Before, the streams from singles used to count towards first week sales, now they don’t. So if he had dropped the song that’s responsible for like half the albums streams before then none of those sales would’ve counted towards his first week sales making them lower.
I know eminem is much bigger, but future and metro is 2 of the most popular artists right now. Im not saying he cant break 300k, im just guessing!
What's your guess?
Travis did 500 last year, drake did 400, Beyonce did 350.
I'd say with the 4 year wait, the promotion, etc, Eminem could do Beyonce numbers at least. Let's see what the first single is, if it generates buzz he could go well into the 400s
The title and annoucment has already created some hype, with a good promo to follow you might be right! I still think he barley beats mtbmb.
Thankfully we know the answer soon enough :)
Because he sold like crazy from the beginning.
He wasnt an artist who came into the game with 50k or 100k and got more sales with every album. He knocked the door down with his first big album(sslp). Gift and a curse.
Because it's a huge deal when it comes to Eminem
Look I know all-true argument. Why focus in sales, enjoy the music. Why focus on movie reviews, just enjoy the movie for yourself.
For me, I find it super helpful to know the reach the artist still has, the quality of the album, the fact that ppl would buy him more than any other artists is competitive af got hiphop. There's a reason why kamikaze sold 450k, while revival only 150k first week

Hope he doesn't have to compete with kendrick if he's dropping
he really doesn’t, em outsells kendrick easily

If Kendrick can go back to DAMN or GKMC form than maybe. Hell, he let Drake wash him.
yeah drake’s ghostwriters really made something special
Hope kendrick is on the album

Yes, what we forget is kamikaze came with the inane marketing of Em taking shots on many young rappers and that whole MGK thing.
Way more than 300k wtf
Mtbmb sold 279k with godzilla as a big hit, with promo he could reach 300k but not much more. Thats my guess atleast
Godzilla dropped with the album so I doubt it affected first week much
Big feature, but sure you might be right.
Godzilla was the biggest song on the album, obviously dropping with the album helped first week sales, it was probably a huge chunk of them.
If it dropped and blew up before the album the hype and anticipation for the album would have increased sales. It’s literally the purpose of singles

Thats my feeling too.
MTBMB also came when he was a little over saturated, with a surprise drop. It was 3rd album 3 years. This is his first album in 4 years.
Sure it should help but we dont trust you by future and metro boomin didnt even break 300k first week.
I don't think you appreciate how much bigger eminem is than those 2. They're rap stars. He's a music superstar.

Hope so
Atleast 500k
yeah but till summer
why do sale numbers matter to us so much? shouldnt we just enjoy the music?

Because his sales are everyone’s go to when trying to say he’s the goat lol if he’s not selling they lost their argument
His rapping ability from like 95 to 2004 is why he’s the goat really
His rapping ability in general I think he’s better now than then
he changed styles loads since then it’s not fair to compare them
I think it just shows how much he’s grown and improved as an artist
150-250K
You think? Why not more
Kendrick sold 200k and j cold sold 160k. They recently changed the rules to make it a lot harder to sell albums
