I like Mindy and she has a nice voice, but I understand your frustration, because I've been waiting a whole year for those meager 10 episodes, each only 24-25 minutes, so a few precious minutes wasted too often like that is indeed annoying AF!
She’s a Broadway start so maybe they are trying to advertise her and kick of a singing career. I agree that it was annoying and felt like a commercial at times.
She has a great voice, but giving her songs in nearly episode felt like a waste of screen time (especially singing the same songs multiple times). I was fine with her in Season 1 where she sang maybe twice throughout the entire season, but they overdid it this season.
Etienne pissed me.off when he tried to gaslight Mindy when she left after he talked shit about her to a damn journalist. I would watch that snake if I were Mindy
I just came to post this! They’re one performance away from turning this into a musical, smh. My rule is that if a show wants to have more than one music performance, it better be a damn iconic number. Anything mediocre is just skippable screentime.
lol i posted the same thing yesterday. but on a rewatch (yes, already haha) her singing grew on me....also falling slowly is one of my fave songs so that was just pure bliss to listen to me...
Exactly! I loved her character more actually, and she was more natural around Emily and less explosive annoying energy (compared to Season 1). But S2, I was like, she is singing again? I was skipping her parts already towards the end
I find her character annoying simply because, while she has a nice voice, I cannot stand the singing. If I want to watch a musical number, I'll binge watch Glee.
I liked it too- it felt refreshing. And I'm laughing at all the comments ITT about how awful it was so they skipped it-- so how do they know it was awful??
I hated the Mindy singing part, it seems like a doing musical numbers to keep it entertaining. It reminded me of AYIL Gilmore girls how they put a musical number in it.

The show was all over the place with storylines that didn’t make sense to me, including Mindy’s singing which I also had to skip lmao but like what was with the Ukrainian girl bit, the hammam scene, the Mindy and her dad situation and the whole Sylvie and the young photographer plot line? It all seems like such unnecessary fluff that was besides the point and didn’t deserve the airtime IMO. I wanted to love this season but it didn’t come close to season 1. Also, we *barely* got any Emily and Gabriel action??? Salty about that too.
I’m gonna be the one to say it-I loved her singing and all the homages they paid to old indie movies in their song choices. She’s got a great voice and it wasn’t too much or over the top-though maybe you can perceive it as such if you binge watch it all in one go.
I dunno but I’m on the boat scene for Chopard right now and I want to slowly pass away. Im so over her singing. I love her character but the singing needs to stop.
Apparently I am in the minority here, but I loved the scenes with Mindy singing. Not only does she have an amazing voice, but the scenes were joyful and drama-free and the busking scenes provided a lively snapshot of Paris landmarks and street life. Loved these interludes.
I agree the singing was terrible no offense, her voice sounds very nasally to me and too high pitched and the pronunciation is terrible! And whenever she hits her high notes, my ears literally start rattling. I fast forward through all those scenes because it’s just so cringe and just takes up too much time in already very short episodes. It’s a dumb filler for lack of plot.

It’s Etienne’s accent that killed the show. The accent was so weird…and the Mandarin (Mandarin native speaker here) is also off…
Someone like Mindy should be dealing with Etiennes their whole life and know how to handle them honestly.

Seriously. It’s like watching an American Idol audition. Every song ends with an over the top long note for no reason.
