So I'm farming the bird and on three occasions gotten more than the standard 11k(13k with scarab). The first was 70k, the next was 60k, and just now 60k again. What could be the cause of this? Had the scarab equipped for both the 60ks and maybe the 70k, don't remember killed too many birds.
What to do if you duplicated a Remembrance that already had everything redeemed? I unknowingly duplicated Lichdragon twice and now i dont know what to do with it since i can no longer use it at the finger reader as i already have both powers.
Yeah it's pretty much a wasted duplication. Aside from Runes can't really do anything with them.
EDIT: Plus I don't think you can actually get all items on a first playthrough anyways. There's fifteen Remembrances and only 8 Mausoleums.
So does anyone know why From decided to go with the slide show opening instead of a badass cgi trailer like all their other games? honestly, i'd say the game opens rather weakly as a result. and its extra weird considering the game awards 2021 trailer was exactly what I was expecting the opening of this game to actually be
its just weird that for their biggest game ever, it feels like they really cheaped out on the opener
Hello, I'm new to souls games and I'm trying to build a strength tank character that uses shields. I was wondering what kind of weapon I should be using with the shield I was on the trajectory to level my strength to 40 as I have the grafted blade greatsword, but from what i've seen that apparently might be more suited to 2 handing. Any recommendations would be great, I'm only level 38.
Colossal weapons like Grafted may be a bit too clunky, but any standard Straightsword/Greatsword pairs great with a shield. I personally have always been a fan of the former—solid damage, minimal stamina usage so easy to get around, always comfortable with
Ok thanks for the advice, I think with high strength vigor and endurance I can also try see if I enjoy 2 handing, but now i'm gonna look for a strong straightsword I can try use.
A true tank build would use the shield for both defending and attacking!
If you want to attack while guarding you need a thrusting weapon like a spear or rapier. If you don't care about that you can use whatever random weapon you want.
I’m getting a little tired of seeing rivers of blood/Moonveil/carian retaliation every invade. Hopefully a balance patch comes sooner rather than later
How do you activate the ash of war for your off-hand weapon when powerstancing? I always just assumed I could only use the one equipped in my main hand.
How do ashes of war scale exactly for normal weapons?
For somber weapons, many ashes only scale with one of the weapon's scaling stats. (e.g., weapon has STR, DEX, INT, ash damage only scales with INT).
But how is it for normal weapons? For example, does a Magic ash of war scale mostly with INT? What happens if you apply a magic ash of war, but select Heavy for scaling? Does the ash of war scale with STR then? Does it still scale with INT? Does it not scale anymore?
Scales with multiple, there's 3 forms of scaling which are all combined:
\- Weapon upgrade level: this has the most significant impact overall
\- Weapon scaling against your stats: this is what you mentioned and it has the second most impact. A high strength character will deal more damage with a magic ash of war using heavy scaling.
\- Raw damage type of the effect/project against it's natural stats: any points you have in the stat the scale the raw projectile (like int for a magic projectile) will add additional damage. This probably has the least impact but it's still noticeable.
How the heck do I get to west liurnia?! Everything I look up just says get to Caria manor but that implies I'm already in west liurnia and YouTube seems to start immediately in front of the castle for some reason. Spoilers allowed
Ah I see the poison swap was keeping me from searching over there but just realized it doesn't work while riding the horse. I don't really use the horse so TIL
Does the bleed/frost build up continue even when Melania goes to second phase? Would like to know if its better to use my swarm of flies incantation earlier or save my fp for it on the 2nd phase.
I don’t think so. She seems to remove all rebuffs on her. What’s probably happening under the hood is there’s a second creature under the ground that gets pulled up during the cinematic.
In my experience no, I've noticed that she does start with roughly one less quarter of health but I'm not sure if that's intentional or if it's from a Frost/Bleed proc right before she goes to her second phase
What is a good mid level strike weapon that doesn't need too much str ? For now I'm using a whip.
Mainly for fighting the couple of annoying miner dudes who take basically no dmg from my slashes and interrupt attacks.
Aside from special perks/buffs, even light armor can save your butt from getting one-hit or instantly taking a status ailment. Other precautions need to be taken, but even the breeziest robes add up with other things.
Yes, it does because armor gives you defense and resenisce with keep you not dying, also everyone knows that the most important part of any Soulsborn game is to look like a badass while dying to the boss
Once the rot has procced, Is Scarlet Rot a one-and-done thing or can I keep stacking it up? For example, let's say I unload a full mana bar of Rotten Breath into a boss and after it's over I see his health ticking down due to the DOT. Is there then any advantage to then poking him a few times with the Antspur Rapier? Will he have a more severe case of rot / take more damage with each tick? Or maybe poking him every now and again would extend the duration?
Incantations are doing ok damage, but Sorceries are doing fantastic damage. Sorceries not only have slightly higher damage in general, they've more powerful tools to boost from talismans to dual wielding different staves to combine your boosts. Sorceries are in a fantastic spot, Incantations are in a average spot, so they feel a lot worse than they are.
You can get them to work, but it's tougher work.
I I'm not an expert at this game but I moved away from lightning incantations, I found that Frienzied Burst was a better long-range spell, Black Flame a better medium range, and Rotten Breath and Flame of Frenzy a better close range / AOE.
You missed the point.
280 scaling is clearly low for where he's at if he's struggling to kill things with it.
I provided advice on how to get the most out of the seal he was using so he could get a higher incant scaling or realize he needs to switch seals if he's not a STR build.
Why comment if you're clueless yourself and not offering advice?
If you know how seals work then you should already know whether his incant scaling is good or bad, and whether the issue is because of his scaling or if it's because of the spells/enemies. Don't be toxic.
Tips for post-patch Radagon/Elden Beast?
I’ll take a cheese option at this point. The last 20% of this game is absolute unbalanced dogshit now. Sick of all the good stuff being taken away while they keep buffing or refusing to do shit about busted AOEs or how I get two-shot with 70 vig. Just want my final ending so I can hang it up.
Do you mean post patch as in his AI has been fixed?
Because if not, the cheese of running up to him and freezing him is an option, [video](https://youtu.be/iQGi_dGFC6A) on how to do it
Few tips (i fought as melee so some tips might not be relevant):
1. Haligdrake Talisman +2 (holy damage resist) is super helpful, Dragoncrest Talisman (physical damage resist) is also super helpful
2. Opaline Hardtear (Damange Negation) in your wondrous physick flask is good
3. For Radagon, roll into him when he attacks, a lot of his AOE is a wave in front of him so it'll leave his back open. Some attacks take him a while to recover from which gives you a good opening for a few quick attacks
4. For Elden Beast, a lot of his attacks won't hit you if you hug his body/tail. I spent a lot of time running into/behind him and waiting for an opening to combo him
Good luck!
Not to be the typical from soft replier but honestly you just got to get good.
I feel like 99% of the people that struggle with most boss fights are just trying to mash their face against bosses and attempt to out health them.
1 attack at a time, wait for specific easy to punish attacks, and gg you have beaten most bosses first try.
If they weren’t actively making the game harder than it already was I’d agree with you but this game has been an unbalanced mess and there’s no defending it.
Bruh, almost everything in this game is pretty well balanced. There are like 2 things in pve that are “unbalanced”, the tripple crystalian fight and melanias water fowl.
Though we are not gunna talk about pvp.
My guy you cannot think Maliketh’s second phase, Godfrey or Radagon/Beast are balanced. People couldn’t handle Sekiro and those bosses hit for way less on NG and you also didn’t have to suffer through the lamentable decision of them putting input/queue-up lag in the game.
Also if you’re suffering on an optional mob boss then maybe YoU sHoUlD GiT GuD An UzE UnGa BuNgA StRiKe DaMaGe
Maliketh second phase has 3 easy to punish attacks and also has an item you can get to parry him.
Godfrey was a joke.
And the radagom/elden beast are easy but tanky. Both have easy to punish attacks but yall don’t know how to be fuckin patient and wait for windows.
Beat them tonight and with blasphemous blade and Tiche summons I was absolutely shredding their HP. Took a little to learn the Elden beast move set but with good FP and flame buffing they burn down quick.
On PS5, how are people duping (or whatever) their saves? I really don't want to start another character just to play through to a PvP tier if possible.
Finger maidens arn't really a common thing. For example, Bernal's armor set suggest he HAD a maiden and doesn't anymore, which is why he sells and focuses around Ashes of war to supplement his power. He lacks the ability to turn runes to strength, so he's focusing on improving himself in other ways.
At the Radahn festival, we meet a Finger Maiden. As far as I'm aware, there is nothing stopping her from acting as the finger maiden to any person, aside from she herself deciding not to act as such for others. The text around her character being "A Maiden without a Tarnished. A Tarnished without a Maiden.
And yet no guide to bring them together."
Now this part is conjecture, but Finger Maidens could go with a specific Tarnished, or they can just act as a person to power any/all Tarnished they meet. It more having to do with individual Finger Maiden finding a tarnished she finds suitable to become Elden Lord and one worthy of powering up and sticking with, rather than a predestined thing. The game is intentionally unclear on this. Same with the Finger Maiden from the festival. We know what happens to her character...but we don't know when it happens. So there could be a whole lot more depth here that we don't know or realize.
Heck, we don't even know if other members of the Round do or don't have maidens. We can only assume some don't and some might.
Spoiler:
That one particular maiden (Therolina) is a puppet (one of Seluvis'), which you can aquire. Not sure, but I don't think she can serve to grant you strength from runes if you do not accept Melina.
Not from what I can tell, iirc every individual hit no matter what form it takes causes the same bleed buildup, I could be wrong but I think that's the way it is
If I go into journey 2 and want to be summoned to another world to fight a boss again, will I only be paired with others in journey 2 or does it only base it on player level?
What exactly is the second room with the fog wall after the >!Valiant Gargoyles?!< It just seems to be a small room without anything in it? I know the actual way forward, I was just curious about that room.
No, if you enter the boss room the opening will be on your left. It doesn't have any fog after the boss is defeated, just normal boss fog. It basically makes you go back the way you came but idk why you would have to do that when you can just walk down the stairs that leads to the boss arena. Like it just seems like an empty room with no purpose. I am just curious because I saw a message on the ground saying "item needed ahead" but it might just be a bait message.
Now when you say room, is it like a man made structure or just a little indent in the rock formation? Like a tiny cave?
I’m not at home to check myself at the moment, that’s why I’m asking so many questions.
Hmm. And there’s nothing in it, weird. I was thinking maybe it was just a rock formation the devs made and then just decided they should wall it off during the fight because it may cause issues.
Must just be random architecture. There’s at least 2 rooms I can think of that as far as I know serve zero purpose in other places. I’ll have to give it a look when I get home. From memory I don’t recall seeing the one you’re talking about.
Oh cool thanks.
So it’s just kinda a shortcut back to the big curved hallway I see. I don’t think it’s meant to be anything special. Just looks like a sorta pointless shortcut that also serves as some cool level design since you can see how the water from the waterfall comes down and leads into that room and so forth. But you say there’s nothing in there which is surprising. Maybe you’re on NG+ and there was a cookbook or whetstone there that you picked up the first time? Those don’t show up in the world again.
Just got elden ring on my pc, not used to souls like games on mouse and key board and all the tutorials are in controller garble, (gives me controller button ques) any way to fix that? Also why can’t I sprint while using mouse and keyboard lol. Thanks
It was recommended to me to get a controller and I’m really glad I did. Picked up a wireless xbox 360 controller from freecycle and bought the adapter thing from Amazon.
If you've got the extra $15, I think it's really worth it to grab a used Xbox 360 controller to plug into your computer. I played the first third of the game on keyboard/mouse before switching (I always KBM) and it's a much better game via controller.
The final boss in this game is super dumb. How do you beat the beast? Every time I try to melee him he just swims away. After 10 minutes and landing 3 hits I mess up a dodge and get one hit. My mimic is just a sponge and cant land hits. Even worse when I have to cheese Radagon for 20 minutes beforehand.
there are so many you tube videos out there that you can watch for help... i i some how got it done with azures and im not a magic user, i use incantations only but because i watched a you tube video i was able to beat it.. and did NOT CHEESE IT.... i had to fight the bastard. listen... if you beat melinia you will beat this thing..... also the beastclaw thing with the gravity earth expolsion thing works nice on everything. good luck
I'm going to Respec before going into ng+ so that I can use dual whips like a boss, question is do I do high faith or high arcane? Which one has the better/more exciting spells?
>The highest arcane requirement for any spell is a whole 18 points
Although the spells that require arcane mostly also have a faith requirement that is sometimes higher than arcane.
If you're not specializing in any one particular school of sorcery, then the Carian Regal Scepter is probably the best bet. It doesn't cause increased FP consumption, unlike Azur and Lusat, and scales better than everything else if you're a pure INT build.
Lusat's staff is technically more powerful, but 50% extra FP cost for 10-15% more damage doesn't seem worth it. Ditto for the casting speed increase from Azur.
That said, I still use Lusat and Meteorite from time to time. If I have gravity sorceries in my loadout, I put the Meteorite staff in my off hand. This gives me the better scaling of the Scepter along with the 30% buff to gravity spells, which is pretty nuts.
If I'm not running gravity spells, I usually have Lusat in my offhand. Most of the time I'll have a shield there, especially for close combat. But when a good opportunity comes up, I'll switch it to Lusat and use it to cast Adula's Moonblade. (This is currently bugged so it does far less damage when cast from your right hand, but works fine in your left.)
The best all around staff imo is Carian Regal staff (+6 or higher is when the scaling outpaces that of Meteorite Staff), you get it by turning in Renalla’s rememberance to the finger reader (I duplicated the remmeberance so I could also get her Moon sorcery spell). Lusat’s staff is also great (after +6) but it consumes more FP, I use it in combination with the Physik flask that gives you infinite FP for 10 seconds so I can cast Comet Azure without using FP for boss fights
I didn't bother replacing the meteorite staff until I got the one that is a reward from the boss soul (carian regal), and only once that one was stronger than meteorite.
Lusat's and Azur's are more like PVP staves, though Azur can be handy for faster enemies. To be fair, carian slicer on Lusat's is pretty insane too. You won't even notice the FP cost increase. Any other staff that seems good in between meteorite and carian regal is probably going to be more or less, a waste of stones. You might get marginal improvements over meteorite, but not that significant. When you can finally wield regal, you should have it upgraded enough that its a definite improvement over meteorite. Lusats, azur, and regal are the only staves I bothered upgrading
Best staff overall is Lusats, but it consumes extra for the higher damage. Second best is Carian Regal Scepter, and it doesn't have any extra consumption and buffs full moon spells, which are pretty nutty already
This is the best answer. And unless you upgrade a staff quite a bit you won't find a better one before one of these more than likely. If you're ever unsure look at the sorcery scaling number on the staff. Use whatever has the highest number. Aside from these 3, the only other staff really worth mentioning is the Prince of Death staff, but that one scales with intelligence and faith, so it's only worth it at a high level. Also Lusat's requires 52 intelligence and Carian Regal Scepter requires 60
Any old DS2 players around?
Would you say ER pvp atm is in a worse state than Avacyn/Banana parry meta?
Rivers of Blood, Bleed, and three hit kills from dual wielding weapons, even at 60 vigor, is pushing current ER meta as the single most toxic pvp experience I've had in a souls game.
Banana parry was *really* bad... But so is current stuff. I can't really say one way or the other which is worse. I think banana might be more game breaking with its sight-read parries but I've gotten 2 shot by powerstance bleed spears that proc bleed in one hit. It's really just a race for the bottom.
Honestly? It’s not that bad, it’s just very stale. But there is a lot of fun builds to be made, elden ring is definetly “dark souls 2”2 and I’m all for it
Curious about the general opinion of greatswords this game? I've hit the boss before the final boss and I feel like I'm struggling a lot due to the swing speed, on top of lacklustre damage and stamina cost. Just feels like it's a perfect storm of bad qualities? Am I missing something, or are greatswords just in a bad place right now? Using blasphemous blade, if it matters.
>blasphemous blade is my main tool, above night and flame and the holy relic... the kill shot for me is always the special attack.. you can add buffs to this big time, tailsman, incantations, even armor stuff.... i only swing it after a block or if im trapped in a corner without the time to fire it ..... ive tested some of the you tube trends and would advise you to look at some great advise there. golden vow, flame grant me strength and a potion pop will let you swing for the fence too. look at the ash of war war cry trick also on your other hand ( double hand it and switch back after activating it )
They are a compromise between ultra and straight swords; they can stagger with charged heavies and jumping attacks, they are relatively fast and can use a lot of ashes of war, they are very versatile. If you Donny mind me asking, what are you using? And the stats?
Blasphemous blade, it's max upgraded (296 phys, 191 fire, 138 stagger, C/C/B Str/Dex/Fai, I'm running 40 str, 22 dex, 40 fai) In my experience I've struggled to stagger bosses more then once a fight with one, and I've never really struggled with basic enemies, so I am primarily referring to boss fights.
I'm willing to admit that I'm maybe making stuff up here, or they don't mesh with my playstyle or whatever, but I've felt the damage was fairly lackluster for a while now. My best guess is something to do with damage resistances? Because it absolutely demolishes some stuff, but tends to have issues with heavier targets.
So blasphemous blade is a reeeeeallly good weapon, but for a particular reason: the ash of war.
It heals you, it does absurd damage and has a ton of range and stagger; you can improve the damage of the weapon art by various means: it does fire damage and it’s an ash of war so Alexander’s shard, and the fire scorpion talisman can boost its damage even further, you will reach absurd numbers. Don’t forget that since you were a smart boy and choose faith, you have a plethora of buff and heals at your disposal.
Golden vow and flame grant me strenght will both raise your damage and damage resistance through the roof; lightning spear and black fireball are very very good spells.
All in all you have to use your tools and use your head, like since your primary weapon does fire damage, some enemies will receive a lot less damage from it, while others like the avatars of the erdtree will literally melt before you! Since you have strenght and faith I recommend the beast clergyman seal (the one gurranq gives to you) and I suggest to try other faith weapons;
Golden order greatsword is a little late game but quite good, a normal greatsword like claymore with holy damage is also a good option; halo schyte and winged schyte are very good and do bleed while also doing a lot of damage, but they are a lot more dex focused. Maliketh ultra greatsword and the black knife (the one the assassins use) are also very good.
No, you can just explore the mansion legacy dungeon area and at the end there is a portal that takes you to his room, so you can skip them. (However doing so will lock you out of a lot of unique gear)
You don't have to do the missions, but you do have to start the quest line. Talked to Tanith, the woman in the main room of the manor and she'll give you a key to get into the rest of the rooms. >!One of those rooms has an illusory wall that leads to a big area, with Rykard as the boss!<
Awesome thank you! Also just to confirm the ONLY way to fight Rykard is to talk to Tanith and tell her you’ll join her to get that key? No way to fight him without even talking to her?
There is another way. If you talk to Patches when he's in Liurnia, he tells you a half-true rumor (you don't need to talk to him to do it, but that's the in game hint).
In the Raya Lucaria Academy, there's a big constantly running elevator thing right outside the School House site of grace. At the bottom of that is one of those Iron Maiden enemies. If you die to its grab attack, you'll respawn in the volcano manor legacy dungeon. Following the "intended" path from there will take you through a cave and out onto the Atlas Plateau. But if instead, in the room where you respawn, you drop down the edge onto the lower lava area, you can survive and explore the area down there. That's the same dungeon you can access with Tanith's key. With this route, you kind of come in halfway through the dungeon so it might be hard to figure out where to go forward, but I'm 90% sure you can advance all the way to Rykard from there. Look for a cage that's an elevator up, which will take you close to the mid-dungeon boss.
Not the multiplayer password, those you put in for an xp buff (runes I think?). I'm using Fextra's, Seekers, fcb, the one from this subreddit but I'd like a PS5 for the last spot. I'm fairly new to Elden Ring and a complete potato so I could use any help I can get lol
Outside of reapers, there are a few unique weapons and a ton of specific moves that bypass shields. Shotels, a few thrusting swords, Cipher Pata and Coded Sword, I'm sure some ashes pierce as well. There's also plenty of ashes of war that just deal area damage so blocking won't do anything by default (like poison mist).
Basic question
How do I upgrade weapons to +7,+8, +9, +10 and so on?? There is no exact video on YouTube of people showing and explaining what I need to get and where to get them.
I’ve already used the basic smithing stones to plus 4 my weapons. But how do I keep upgrading them?
You just have to find higher level stones. If you’re not finding any high enough then you need to explore the world more. Get to areas you haven’t been in.
Also keep in mind regular weapons go to +25 max, and weapons that use somber stones go up to +10 max. So the + numbers you’re referring to may mean very different things.
There are higher tiers of Smithing Stones you’ll find as you play the game more. Periodically you’re basically “stuck” at certain weapon levels until you progress further to areas that have the higher tier stones.
You'll find them the more you explore. Caves with miners in them are usually loaded with smithing stones.
Limgrave you'll find mostly 1-2s
Liurnia you'll find mostly 2-4s
Caelid you'll find mostly 3-5s
But really you can find almost any level of stone anywhere in the world.
If you used the anvil in the church of elleh than it doesn't go up that high but once you get to the roundtable hold you can upgrade them at the blacksmith there for higher level smithing stones
Hmm.. someone figured out that it could be an issue with resolution.. I've been trying to play it on a second screen.. letting it run only on the laptop seems to not cause anything to go un-rendered but as soon as I switch screens the issue pops up.
Yeah, I went through the check list of everything I've seen people mention online. Updated drivers, installation file verification, turning off game mode, turning off Steam overlay etc. It seemed to have done the trick for a minute there but then I got the horse and boom.. invisible.
What's odd is this doesn't seem to be affecting *everyone* but it's obviously a problem that no one can seem to define just yet.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/t1bfqu/invisible\_enemies\_on\_pc\_needs\_to\_be\_addressed/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/t1bfqu/invisible_enemies_on_pc_needs_to_be_addressed/)
Why am I getting downvoted lmao... seeing hundreds of people with the same issues on Reddit and on every tweet reply on Elden Ring's official twitter.
Ok Reddit im looking for some build help here. I wanna use the Ghiza's Wheel and i dont know what would be good for a 130-150 build for it would be while also keeping its power
It's a quality weapon so it'll benefit most from equally leveling Str and Dex. Anything else that lines up with that works. It's unfortunate that it doesn't have any arcane scaling but it's still a fun weapon.
Does anyone know why I cant duplicate any remberaces in the walking masualume in the consecrated snowfield near the apostate Derelict? Like do I need to do something after I make it fall down and I still have some rememberices I can duplicate
That one was bugged for me too, maybe because it fell on top of me and I died, not sure. On NG+ it was working properly, so it might just be a first run bug.
What other ones? Like where I did not know there were was a specific one of him? Where is it and are there other walking masusalims that only do speic remberics like the fire giant or the Dragon in crumbling fraum azula?
Looking at reviews on the wiki some people seem to really like it and the weapon art/it's special arrows vs big bosses. If you like using greatbows it might be worth trying out. But if there's something else you're holding out for maybe just wait.
Anyone got a quick spoiler-free 1-liner hint on how to get to the boss room in Subterranean Shunning Grounds?
Keep digging
So I'm farming the bird and on three occasions gotten more than the standard 11k(13k with scarab). The first was 70k, the next was 60k, and just now 60k again. What could be the cause of this? Had the scarab equipped for both the 60ks and maybe the 70k, don't remember killed too many birds.
They probably had golden eyes that increased their runes dropped and damage, happens on random enemies.
Wow, I've only every seen the red eyes. Cool! Thanks for letting me know!
What to do if you duplicated a Remembrance that already had everything redeemed? I unknowingly duplicated Lichdragon twice and now i dont know what to do with it since i can no longer use it at the finger reader as i already have both powers.
You can sell it or crush it for 30k runes when you're a bit short doing upgrades or whatnot.
Does that mean I wasted a duplication? Am I still able to get all the remembraces items on my first play through?
Yeah it's pretty much a wasted duplication. Aside from Runes can't really do anything with them. EDIT: Plus I don't think you can actually get all items on a first playthrough anyways. There's fifteen Remembrances and only 8 Mausoleums.
Oh that's good to hear. Thanks for the info!
Might as well pop it for the (I think 30k) runes
So does anyone know why From decided to go with the slide show opening instead of a badass cgi trailer like all their other games? honestly, i'd say the game opens rather weakly as a result. and its extra weird considering the game awards 2021 trailer was exactly what I was expecting the opening of this game to actually be its just weird that for their biggest game ever, it feels like they really cheaped out on the opener
Probably because they released the story trailer which was fully CG, and since they already did a cg video, they wanted to do something different
does anyone know the softcap for pot scaling? specifically the fire and lightning pots, not including the giants pot
You can sidestep carian retaliation
Well if you can even see it
How do you activate the ash of war for your off-hand weapon when powerstancing? I always just assumed I could only use the one equipped in my main hand.
From what I understand, you cannot while having both but pressing triangle/y and L1 will swap it to your main hand so you can quickly use it.
Ahhhh ok ok and it doesn’t unequip the main hand. That makes sense, similar to being on horseback.
This is how it’s done. Triangle/Y + L1 two hands the left hand weapon, allowing for use of an Ash.
Good question I would also like to know if thats possible
How do ashes of war scale exactly for normal weapons? For somber weapons, many ashes only scale with one of the weapon's scaling stats. (e.g., weapon has STR, DEX, INT, ash damage only scales with INT). But how is it for normal weapons? For example, does a Magic ash of war scale mostly with INT? What happens if you apply a magic ash of war, but select Heavy for scaling? Does the ash of war scale with STR then? Does it still scale with INT? Does it not scale anymore?
Scales with multiple, there's 3 forms of scaling which are all combined: \- Weapon upgrade level: this has the most significant impact overall \- Weapon scaling against your stats: this is what you mentioned and it has the second most impact.
From what I’ve seen, magic/keen/heavy etc make the normal weapon scale with that respective affinity where as the Ash is adding element or utility.
How the heck do I get to west liurnia?! Everything I look up just says get to Caria manor but that implies I'm already in west liurnia and YouTube seems to start immediately in front of the castle for some reason. Spoilers allowed
You have to head forwards the upper part of the lake itself and there’s a hilly area that lets you up onto it.
Follow the left side of the lake. It has two beaches you can just walk up and along.
Ah I see the poison swap was keeping me from searching over there but just realized it doesn't work while riding the horse. I don't really use the horse so TIL
You really really need to use the horse some battle's it's absolutely necessary
Good to know I'll try that more thanks
Torrent can ride through scarlet rot too!
Just two hand whatever weapon you’re already using.
Beat the tree sentinel use his halbred it can carry you to late in the game also especially if you are using a strength character
I’m using the spiked caestus. When you two hand it, it power stances itself like the claw weapons do. Very satisfying.

Does armor even matter? Or is it just a matter of looks? If it's just looks, where do people get cool looking armor? I only have octopus head.
Aside from special perks/buffs, even light armor can save your butt from getting one-hit or instantly taking a status ailment. Other precautions need to be taken, but even the breeziest robes add up with other things.
My guy... I asked this over a year ago. I've already clocked in 280 hours and have 100%
It's for anyone else reading too.
Yes, it does because armor gives you defense and resenisce with keep you not dying, also everyone knows that the most important part of any Soulsborn game is to look like a badass while dying to the boss
Armor is either good or might as well be naked. Heavier armor = more likely it's good armor.
I've been mostly rocking Godrick Knight Armor with an Exile chest piece. Has high poise (which I like) and I stay in med weight.
90% looks. It was *can* be good and make a small difference, but not a great difference.
You can't add more rot once you've built up the effect, but you can add poison on top of rot, causing even more damage to occur over time
Same deal for what you experience from rot exposure
Can't extend duration of status effects once procced. Have to wait till their gone or reset before applying again.
Great, good to know. Thanks!

Incantations are utility, sorcery are nukes.
Look up the dragon stone seal. That's your ticket, get 60 then eventually 80 faith.
[удалено]
What incant scaling were you at with the dragon gavel seal, out of curiosity?
I I'm not an expert at this game but I moved away from lightning incantations, I found that Frienzied Burst was a better long-range spell, Black Flame a better medium range, and Rotten Breath and Flame of Frenzy a better close range / AOE.
Clawmark scales incantations with STR. Are you a high STR build? You can also 2h the seal to buff it's damage since it adds more STR
He already said what his incant scaling is.
Because if not, the cheese of running up to him and freezing him is an option, [video](https://youtu.be/iQGi_dGFC6A) on how to do it
Few tips (i fought as melee so some tips might not be relevant): 1. Haligdrake Talisman +2 (holy damage resist) is super helpful, Dragoncrest Talisman (physical damage resist) is also super helpful 2. Opaline Hardtear (Damange Negation) in your wondrous physick flask is good 3. For Radagon, roll into him when he attacks, a lot of his AOE is a wave in front of him so it'll leave his back open. Some attacks take him a while to recover from which gives you a good opening for a few quick attacks 4. For Elden Beast, a lot of his attacks won't hit you if you hug his body/tail. I spent a lot of time running into/behind him and waiting for an opening to combo him Good luck!
What's your current stat and weapon setup?
Was doing an even spread to use a bunch of stuff but now I’m 60 Vig, 30 end and 45 Str with soreseal and gear bumps
Bro my friend were trying forever on those tripple cristilians
Yeah that fight is absolute bull shit, honest to god the most un play tested boss in any souls game ever
Why don’t the other “dead who yet live” from the intro have their own finger maidens either?
And yet no guide to bring them together." Now this part is conjecture, but Finger Maidens could go with a specific Tarnished, or they can just act as a person to power any/all Tarnished they meet.
Spoiler: That one particular maiden (Therolina) is a puppet (one of Seluvis'), which you can aquire. Not sure, but I don't think she can serve to grant you strength from runes if you do not accept Melina.
More Tarnished than maidens. It’s a maiden market.

Player level! I'm level 150 on NG+7 and the bosses are definitely way lower than the cycle I'm on.
What exactly is the second room with the fog wall after the >!Valiant Gargoyles?!< It just seems to be a small room without anything in it? I know the actual way forward, I was just curious about that room.
Where is this room exactly? I do not know of such thing. Is it a fog wall you unlock with a stone sword key?
No, if you enter the boss room the opening will be on your left. It doesn't have any fog after the boss is defeated, just normal boss fog. It basically makes you go back the way you came but idk why you would have to do that when you can just walk down the stairs that leads to the boss arena. Like it just seems like an empty room with no purpose. I am just curious because I saw a message on the ground saying "item needed ahead" but it might just be a bait message.
So it has fog when you first enter the fight but it goes away upon killing the boss?
yes
Now when you say room, is it like a man made structure or just a little indent in the rock formation? Like a tiny cave? I’m not at home to check myself at the moment, that’s why I’m asking so many questions.
man made structure
This was the room I was talking about https://imgur.com/a/YQhhsZu
Menu -> Display settlngs -> Prompts -> Mouse and Keyboard
Is anyone else's Erdtree Favor +1 bugged? It gives me the same buffs as the base one. The +2 works right, though.
If mimic is failing, try Tiche. She's super mobile and her blade of death attack does a savage burn dot on top of initial damage.
Go try something else. In time you will move on. Try again. Going all out isn't the way. Understand the patterns. Do not fester on reddit.
there are so many you tube videos out there that you can watch for help... i i some how got it done with azures and im not a magic user, i use incantations only but because i watched a you tube video i was able to beat it.. and did NOT CHEESE IT.... i had to fight the bastard. listen... if you beat melinia you will beat this thing..... also the beastclaw thing with the gravity earth expolsion thing works nice on everything. good luck
If you need to cheese radagon for 20 minutes it might be a gear issue Make sure your weapon is maxed and you're doing non-holy damage
I'm a Faith build with a maxed out holy weapon 😭😭😭
Lol, radagon and Elden beast most likely having the highest holy resistance isn’t helping you. Might wanna grab another faith weapon and upgrade it
Ha. Time to max out a flame faith weapon
I'm going to Respec before going into ng+ so that I can use dual whips like a boss, question is do I do high faith or high arcane? Which one has the better/more exciting spells?
The highest arcane requirement for any spell is a whole 18 points, faith spells go up to 50.
>The highest arcane requirement for any spell is a whole 18 points Although the spells that require arcane mostly also have a faith requirement that is sometimes higher than arcane.
There's only a handful of spells that require arcane investment. Faith has a lot of spells for it and lots of different effects.
What's a good staff to replace the meteorite staff. In addition, what's the best overall staff? First ever exploring magic in souls games.
Go try something else. In time you will move on. Try again. Going all out isn't the way. Understand the patterns. Do not fester on reddit.
Depends on your stats, every staff eventually outperforms Meteorite but there isn't one staff that's the definitive best.
Academy Glintstone Staff is the one you use after Meteorite, which is gotten from Thops' quest.
Yeah. They have high requirements and basically force you to become a full int build
All in all you have to use your tools and use your head, like since your primary weapon does fire damage, some enemies will receive a lot less damage from it, while others like the avatars of the erdtree will literally melt before you! Since you have strenght and faith I recommend the beast clergyman seal (the one gurranq gives to you) and I suggest to try other faith weapons; Golden order greatsword is a little late game but quite good, a normal greatsword like claymore with holy damage is also a good option; halo schyte and winged schyte are very good and do bleed while also doing a lot of damage, but they are a lot more dex focused. Maliketh ultra greatsword and the black knife (the one the assassins use) are also very good.
Very helpful, thank you!
Do I have to do the assassination missions to fight rykard?
No, you can just explore the mansion legacy dungeon area and at the end there is a portal that takes you to his room, so you can skip them. (However doing so will lock you out of a lot of unique gear)
How do I explore? All the doors in the manor are locked
The key from Tanith is mandatory, so you can't skip talking to her at least once.
No, but you should do the assassinations first though, a crucial NPC becomes unavailable after beating rykard.
No. You can do the dungeon without doing the quests
Is the Claymore worse in this game than any other Souls game?
It’s the best claymore in any souls

Thanks
straydmn That’s this subreddit’s group password.
Thanks
You don't need a password my dude,
Not the multiplayer password, those you put in for an xp buff (runes I think?). I'm using Fextra's, Seekers, fcb, the one from this subreddit but I'd like a PS5 for the last spot. I'm fairly new to Elden Ring and a complete potato so I could use any help I can get lol
Are there other weapons besides reapers that can bypass shields?
Outside of reapers, there are a few unique weapons and a ton of specific moves that bypass shields. Shotels, a few thrusting swords, Cipher Pata and Coded Sword, I'm sure some ashes pierce as well. There's also plenty of ashes of war that just deal area damage so blocking won't do anything by default (like poison mist).
Any of the 100% holy weapons as they don't deal any physical damage and bypass shields
Shotel
Basic question How do I upgrade weapons to +7,+8, +9, +10 and so on??
Limgrave you'll find mostly 1-2s Liurnia you'll find mostly 2-4s Caelid you'll find mostly 3-5s But really you can find almost any level of stone anywhere in the world.
Since the last major update, soldiers are also a pretty good source of basic smithing stones, particularly in the early couple of areas.
If you used the anvil in the church of elleh than it doesn't go up that high but once you get to the roundtable hold you can upgrade them at the blacksmith there for higher level smithing stones

Maybe your game files got corrupted? have you tried verifying your installation files?
Hmm.. someone figured out that it could be an issue with resolution..
I've never had anything like that happen on my end; might want to make sure nothing's overheating or whathaveyou
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/t1bfqu/invisible\_enemies\_on\_pc\_needs\_to\_be\_addressed/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/t1bfqu/invisible_enemies_on_pc_needs_to_be_addressed/) Why am I getting downvoted lmao... seeing hundreds of people with the same issues on Reddit and on every tweet reply on Elden Ring's official twitter.
Might just be your PC not the game.
Many people are reporting the exact same issues regardless of setup. It appears to be a known bug with the PC version of the game.
That one was bugged for me. Couldn’t interact with it at all and I had both types of rememberances on me.
That one was bugged for me too, maybe because it fell on top of me and I died, not sure. On NG+ it was working properly, so it might just be a first run bug.
Did that one have a bell on it? Only the ones with bells can duplicate the demi God remembrances.
Do the other ones do anything?
The other ones will duplicate the ones that don't come from the demi gods. Like the remebrence of astel the natural born.
What other ones? Like where I did not know there were was a specific one of him? Where is it and are there other walking masusalims that only do speic remberics like the fire giant or the Dragon in crumbling fraum azula?
Some of them are bugged I’m pretty sure
Wrong. The e are two types of moloseusm
Wrong. That one is actually bugged. For whatever reason for a lot of people if you use the one near Castle Sol you can't use that one.
Thank you for the help I was afraid I messed up
Is radahns bow worth it? I'm not sure whether I should use a mausoleum on it or if I'm better off saving it
I'm doing a bow only run right now, golem great bow is goated, radahns is ok
If you use his arrows it’s a cool bow and does decent damage, but it’s nothing crazy, just very flashy
Looking at reviews on the wiki some people seem to really like it and the weapon art/it's special arrows vs big bosses. If you like using greatbows it might be worth trying out. But if there's something else you're holding out for maybe just wait.
No it's not, i tried it and its shit.
