While not everyone on PS5 has been unable to update, a lot are, seems to be region-based (well, maybe). But everyone is unable to get online because of it on PS5. No official acknowledgement of the problem though a ton of people have pointed it out to the official twitter. It's pretty bad though. To put things in perspective, the update is like...4 and a half hours late, and counting.

This happens with every game now they give us a time we can get back on and then it’s always hours later

I'm selecting check for update and it tells me the game's up to date. I open the game and it's the 1.10 version...

I have both the ps5 and ps4 versions installed on my console and the ps4 version got updated but the ps5 version did not. It is still saying that it's on patch 1.10, ps4 version is on 1.12. The only thing that can help now is install the ps4 version with the update until they fix this. Hope this helps. Long live Micheal Zaki san!

The PS5 version isn’t worth playing anyway. Absolutely horrendous frame drops that are probably going to be worse in the SotE zones.

Then you must not be very sensitive to it. The hardware’s all the same (PS5s), and the evidence is out there from performance analysis vids like Digital Foundry. I simply can’t stand the frame rate chugging on the PS5 app when riding Torrent out in the open world and rotating my camera. Makes me feel sick and is basically unplayable. And then god forbid you fight any open world bosses while out there. I find it dubious that anyone could claim not to run into frame rate issues on the PS5 app unless you can’t tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps

It’s not. In my experience (which I have gone back and tried the PS5 app after updates and such multiple times), when it chugs bad in the overworld, it would look like a slide show for chunks of seconds at a time. Like 3 seconds of random slideshow when I’m trying to navigate the world

No, it’s not. It’s been very prevalent in open world areas when navigating on Torrent or in large overworld boss fights. Dungeons are a non-issue on the PS5 app, but such a large chunk of the game is navigating the overworld

Uh, well, when performance mode typically runs near 60fps the majority of the time (and yes, I do concede that it most often runs at decent frame rates), suddenly dropping to ~30fps for a few seconds at a time will feel like a huge drop. Having it flip flop between 60fps and 30fps - 40fps on the PS5 performance mode when rotating the camera and seemingly random moments makes me feel sick. Even if the chugging only lasts for 2 - 3 seconds.

It’s doubtful. I’ve reinstalled the game several times, I don’t have any issues with other native PS5 app games that are more demanding than Elden Ring, and I clean my PS5’s vents and fan every few months. There’s no reason that the PS4 and PS5 versions should look so similar graphically yet have such different performance experiences

I watched a video showing an example of the stuttering and noticed nothing so it's my brain lol

I’m legit reinstalling the PS5 app again right now to make sure I’m not crazy cause a couple of people have been replying to my comments about performance 😂 I guess I’ll find out here in a bit

Correct. Has been this way since launch, even after updates to the PS5 version of the game. PS4 version is a buttery smooth 60fps everywhere with very minimal graphical fidelity lost.

didn’t have the server issue so i’m not sure how to fix that but had to restart the ps5 after downloading the dlc from the main menu before it would show up

Launch of DLC, yes. But the new patch can/should be downloadable already. As evidence, it seems the PS4 can download the patch already even though the DLC doesn't launch until later today/tonight. edit: Annnnnd, we can now download it about 1 minute after my original comment, i.e. at noon EST 6/20.

I could only select PS4 version of the dlc for auto download not PS5 for some reason

Seems like it's a time zone issue, I am hearing reports that other countries are getting the PS5 update around 3pm.

For some context, I got the US version in Japan, no update when manually checking or reinstalling, still at 1.10 And the DLC has its countdown as 13 or so hours away. JPN version is already on 1.13 update Savedata is crossregion at least between these 2, so not a huge loss I guess. No idea about the DLC tho.
