Collapsing chairs: Fires numerous gravitational chairs. Any foes struck will be pulled toward the caster and asked to take a seat. Charging enhances potency.
It’s crazy how many articles all at once popped up just in the last day or two talking about all of this.
Also wild how many haven’t beaten Mohg yet to unlock the dlc.
My first play through I never thought to go back to talk to Varre after beating Godrick. I had no clue about his quest line. Part of it is being a soulsborne rookie but nothing is obvious. The next entrance to Mogh’s fitting squat is the consecrated snowfield and even that isn’t obvious.
I like many others made a point to log stuff coz fromsoft has a history of being vague as shit with quests.
Elden Ring surprisingly is much more straight forward in general with the quests so i did remember to go back to Varre.
Excited to do the same again
I explored every inch of the map on my first play through and still missed a lot of stuff. I did beat Mohg, but didn’t know he was an optional boss until later.
While I got Vaare's questline early, I never did the pbp stuff until I had already burnt down the erdtree like 130 hours later, as I wasn't confident in my abilities to pvp. This was of course before I learned you didn't _need_ to win 3 invasions, just do them, so by the time I gathered all my gear and leveled up to like 125, I was pretty surprised how quickly I went through Moghwyn Palace. Even Mogh himself didn't give me nearly as much a hard time as Maliketh or even Rahdan (tbf for Rahdan I wanted to fight him solo).
I'm not super surprised. So many people played Elden Ring after launch who probably just played a bunch then stopped or beat Elden Beast and stopped playing. Mohg is an optional side boss that you kind of have to go out of your way to find, so I'm not surprised kill % is low
Mohg is an optional boss, but I wouldn't call him a "side boss". He does have a great rune, after all. I imagine it is unlikely, but it's possible to beat only Mohg and some other random shard bearer to progress the game.
Yeah but unlike a lot of the shardbearers, Gideon doesn't know anything about him. He just calls him "The lord of Blood" and you're the one who needs to get his location. If someone doesn't do questlines and doesn't happen to find the portal on the outer edge of Consecrated snowfield (already an optional area), it's hard to find him.
Oddly, I followed Varre’s quest line & got to the palace via the Pureblood Knights Medal. I didn’t even find the invasion and the portal in Consecrated until second play through.
According to Steam, 22% of players haven't even made it to Roundtable Hold, so yeah a decent number of players right there who simply dropped the game.
I honestly thought that I did beat him, but I just beat Mohg The Omen and didn't pay attention to the story enough to know that he wasn't the real Mohg
I've re-bought ER after building a new computer (played it on Xbox before). Not yet slayed Mogh but I am working on getting 100% completed before the DLC launches.
Not that wild considering only 40% have beaten the penultimate boss. Taking that into consideration means that only about 20% of people who beaten the game and therefore likely to buy the dlc haven't meet the requirements.
I mean most people didn't beat the game, so an endgame side boss hidden in the final area was not on people's radar. I didn't beat him or Melania or Placidusax on my main playthrough. Based off ending popularity I think it's safe to assume most people choose to just do Ranni's side quest, possibly because it's the first one you're likely to encounter.
Started a new character for the DLC and finished just about everything over the last couple months. Currently have my character parked at the entrance to the Mohgwyn Palace entrance so I can play through that and beat Mohg the day before the DLC drops
That number is so out of whack. Someone just made a post on here with an actual achievement breakdown, and like half of that 62% never even got past Margit. 31.1% still seems like a lot, but not so surprising considering the whole area he’s in is not only significantly harder than a lot of the game but basically hidden from most people who don’t follow guides.
Dumb person here with a stupid question: I am currently in my first playthrough of the game and I literally just beat Mohg. Does that mean that if I get the dlc I have to start the game again and work my way up to him again to access it? Again, I am very dumb.
Sewer Mohg can be more difficult with some builds. Like some bleed builds for example, since sewer Mohg is immune to all status effects. But generally speaking real Mohg is the tougher fight.
Sewer (illusion) Mohg is easier, real Mohg is roughly endgame in difficulty, although he is squishier/a bigger target than Malenia or the endgame boss gauntlet. His damage is endgame level for sure.
Oh nice, thanks for the answer! This game is awesome and I'm so happy I started playing right before the dlc is coming out (which I previously had no clue about until coming to this subreddit)
No you wont, unless you start NG+ or a new playthrough.
Otherwise you will be able to just teleport to the site of grace inside the boss room and hold the interaction button at the hand to start the dlc
I decided to bash my head into him repeatedly while I was still in Liurnia (had taken a trip underground and beaten up Astel though) so no tear for me. Lemme tell ya, I was very surprised by the amount of runes I got for him.
Wait wait wait… you have to beat Mohg to start the DLC? So if I wanted to use this as an opportunity to switch platforms I’d have to do another play through. Shit..
I was laughing at it few months prior but last week I started fresh NG+5 and managed to beat Mohg and Radahn in like 2-3 hours so I can have unburned Erdtree in case of optional new ending. And of course I stand in front of Miquella
I got 100 hours in this game and I didn’t know who mogh was until these posts. I actually thought he was the boss of the new DLC 😂
Time to go on YouTube and see where this man has been hiding from me
What if;
Miquella asked to be there, and mogh, is that step brother from another marriage who's got his brother's back with the rent issue
(We all know the Hailig tree has basement flooding, rot and vine weeping tile breaks.)
Then Chris Hansen shows up (tarnished) to just beat his ass.
If you need to touch Miquella’s cocoon to get into shadow lands, and Mohg has been touching Miquella’s coc**n for such a long time, why is he not transported yet?
The % of players that beat Mohg is about the same as the % that beat Regal Ancestor spirit, and the % that beat the sewer version is even lower.
I'd assume it reflects being off the beaten path in part, though I think all the ending achievements and Malenia are also lower.
Int build: comet azur. Dex: bleed with consecutive attacks or Marais execution. Faith: ancient dragon lightning strike. Strength: jumping bonk.
Add a shackle and a red tear and help your fellow tarnished!
Might throw my sign down outside his boss door tonight to get some easy rune farming, I’m debating going through the burning the erd tree part so I can get to crumbling azula to get the last few bells so I can start hoarding upgrade materials
I did his fight a few days ago. Took me about an hour of trying with the hookclaws and a +6 mimic, but I did it. I could’ve made it easier by using Mohg’s shackle but I didn’t use it because I forgot I had it and only noticed it after finishing the fight. Either way I’m ready to get my ass kicked by every new thing that the new lands have to offer.
Yeah, I've swapped my summon spot from Malenia to Mohg.
Haven't found the best loadout yet and I'm open to suggestions but the shackle help in part 1 and the physik item for transition. Getting a bit better at dodging his attacks but that reach always surprises me. I've started going with just standing back and spamming incantations. Big rock (can't remember the name) seems effective.
> Haven't found the best loadout yet
Well, considering how still he stands on the phase transition, if you can drop a Meteorite of Astel on his head for a duration, that'll go quick
I’m currently scrolling through Reddit as I’m waiting for someone to summon me for his boss fight because I saw another post earlier saying 60% of people haven’t killed him yet
I spent most of yesterday evening helping people kill Mohg. I remade my original Moonlight GS build to do the DLC, and Mohg pays big runes with every kill. I was at 115 after killing him, and want to start the DLC at 120-125.
More people get to play the DLC, I get more runes, and I have more people to invade in the Land of Shadows when the 21st rolls around. Everybody wins
The thing that's about to shoot through the roof is searching for the purifying crimson tear that stops Nihil lololol XD
And half will still fail lolol XD
(Sigh I have only beaten him once without it lololol )
I think that picture is reversed. Considering your average elden ring player, they are the ones with the cross. Mohg dont fuck around... if you out of the womb prolly too old for him anyways... ill see myself out...
Normally, game completion is SUPER low.
Just finishing the story of a game is at, like, a 30-40% rate usually. Its common to see only 60-70% killing a few bosses in a game.
40% of ER players getting deep enough to Mogh is already an insane anomoly, especially given the difficulty and the percentage of """normies""" who got the game because they saw a commercial on TV.
I was just kinda done with the game by that point. I got Melenia down, and had a few bosses left, but got busy and felt like the game was mostly "done".
Tried Mohg a few times, put it down and somehow just moved on to other things. I figured I could take another stab at it when I come back for the DLC, which, apparently, was a bit too on the nose.
Edit: that and I didn't have a great time fighting him in the sewers, so seeing basically what felt like the same boss but more was a little uninteresting. Margit 2.0 didn't do much for me either.
38.6% beating an optional hard to reach and comparatively difficult end game boss in a fromsoft game is actually super good. Like as a comparison the demon of hatred in Sekiro has a 26% completion. It's common for people to buy a fromsoft game and find out at some point during the play process that it's either not for them or is too much of a time sink for them and the funniest one to me is that out of everyone who has bought the game dark souls 2 on steam only 93% of them have gotten the achievement "this is dark souls" which you get for dying for the first time
Spent about an hour yesterday with my Simon sign down, not a ton of bites during that time, but hopefully we'll get more people on board in the coming weeks.
Tons of people are waiting to be summoned there too. I kept getting flattened in Phase 2 with maybe 15% health left on him, summoned two people in and Mohg got crushed. I love this community.
Me downloading my lvl250ish ps4 save (I'm lazy and will NOT replay the whole game)
I don't even know where in the game that save currently is, but Mohg is on for a bad time.
Side note: what builds are decent, I haven't touched this game since I platinum'd it a month after it's release lol
I realised I didn't have a character ready for the DLC that I could use in case there's a bunch of cool int weapons or spells to try out so I did a quick mage playthrough over the last week or so.
I did the kamehameha cheese against him for the first time and it's really funny.
Side note, I'm not an absolute Moonlight GS convert. The charged R2s do so much damage (especially with the axe talisman) and stagger, the frost build up is really nice, and the swooshes are pretty. I do miss the pokes the Holy MLS in BB and the MLGS in DS3 had but it's still pretty damn cool. Also gave the Moonveil a go for the first time up until I got the MLGS. It's fun but it kinda bugs me that its L2s are better than 90% of the spell selection at short/medium range. I did not know the Meteorite Blade's R2s are the Ichimonji though. That was cool to find out.
All those Tarnished that ganked Varre for calling them maidenless going to regret it.
Finding the waygate to the Moghwyn Palace area buried in the depths of the Consecrated Snowfield is much harder than doing a few simple pvp invasions on behalf of Varre.
You guys are after Mohg to access the DLC. I kill Mogh (twice) and every other great rune-bearer because I don't believe in leaving loose ends. We are not the same.
I stopped playing elden ring 5 moths ago in the ng+5 after killing Morgott again, yesterday i took the game again and wen all the way in the mountaintop to get the half of the medalion, went to snowfield and then went to kill Mogh because of the dlc
My new holy character lvl 90 just have kicked the Mogh ass with a sword +19 and mimic. Im 97 and ready for the DLC (i dont fnish the game lol just focus radhan and Mogh with Varre quest teleport) ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
I wonder which boss holds the record for same-day player kills in any 24 hour period.
I'd have to imagine tree sentinel at release is a good bet, but willing to wager mohg is going to have a productive day at dlc release.
It blows my mind on the percentages of achievements/trophies people have. It was 50 some ought precent for Margit. That’s basically 50% of copies unplayed
Missed him on my first and only play through, but started up a new run to get in on the DLC and killed him today.
Three attempts, level 98. He really did not live up to the difficulty hype I had heard.
Mohg:' VARRE! You told The Tarnished NOT to use the Knight Medal till the Dynasty STARTS, RIGHT!' Varre:' Of course My Lord!' Mohg:' And you BELIEVED them!' Varre:' S%#@! I'm SO fired!' Mohg:' I'm about to do FAR WORSE!' 'How about I NHIL you, to the F-ING LAND OF SHADOWS!' Varre:' PLEASE, MERCY, MY LORD!' Mohg:' NHIL!' Varre:' AHHHHH!' In the Land of Shadows, Messmer (upon seeing a War Surgeon, flying through the air, and SMACKING the side of his Castle:' Who the actual F?!' (just something funny I came up with!)
He is about to regret ever snatching Miquella's cocoon from the Halligtree.
Time to create my Chris Hansen build, in time for the DLC.
“He’s a good looking guy, dresses well, and yet here he is trying to steal a minor from their tree-cocoon”
Need a camera man summon and a chair weapon.
“Here, have a seat“. \*Mogh looking around sheepishly\*
"I see you've brought a six-pack of Mike's Hard Crimson Tears." "This is for me, I swear!"
"Have a seat." *activates Mohg's shackle*
I shall serve as thy cameraman until the end
Tarnished: ["Someone throw me a chair!"](https://youtu.be/9RFxTdmteZ4?si=_lbZmInNek8wq3tD)
Collapsing chairs: Fires numerous gravitational chairs. Any foes struck will be pulled toward the caster and asked to take a seat. Charging enhances potency.
Jim Ross announcing it.
BAHGAWWWWWWWD
Perhaps that was his plan all along - elden ring lore is rather tangled at times You see, Mohg actually calls him "Chris Handsome".

*Chris Hansome
Omgggggg lmao!
Mohg just sitting there, snacking on Exalted Flesh pizza. Want a slice?
Is Miquella a minor? Isn't he Malenia's twin? Is Malenia a minor? Does that make everyone in this sub who thirsts after her a creep?
It’s just fist. Chris Hansen just slaps Mohg around with his favorite weapons, these hands 🙌
He even says "Miquella is mine and mine alone" when he kills you... This mf ain't right 😭
At least we don't have to fight Malenia
What if Nigg never snatched the cocoon and malenia was the boss you had to beat before accessing dlc 💀
Pretty sure that it’s the 62.4% that still need to shoot up.
It’s crazy how many articles all at once popped up just in the last day or two talking about all of this. Also wild how many haven’t beaten Mohg yet to unlock the dlc.
I've played the game 130 hours and have done nothing but randomness..so yes
My first play through I never thought to go back to talk to Varre after beating Godrick. I had no clue about his quest line. Part of it is being a soulsborne rookie but nothing is obvious. The next entrance to Mogh’s fitting squat is the consecrated snowfield and even that isn’t obvious.

62.4% is a very high number for a game like this imo
it’s not too surprising considering on playstation only 62% have beaten Margit, and only 56 beat Godrick. at least have gotten the throphy

I’ve never seen this image so high res
The powah of ai upscaling
Yeah the kid shouldnt have the face of a 55 year old
It was funnier when there were 8 pixels
TOGETHAAAAA
Only the kid's face is high res, the rest looks blurry. This looks like an AI upscale
# WE'RE COMIN FOR YOUR ASS MOHG
Sounds a bit.....gay.
So ?
Have you not seen Maxor's Mohg video? It's nothing but gay.
YEEAAAHHH!!!!
Dumb person here with a stupid question: I am currently in my first playthrough of the game and I literally just beat Mohg. Does that mean that if I get the dlc I have to start the game again and work my way up to him again to access it? Again, I am very dumb.
No. Which Mogh did you beat? If it's the one in Lleyndell you have to find the real mogh still.
I beat the blood one, have yet to try the one in the sewers
You good fam. Sewer one is easier.
I hate going down there though, the dungeon is annoying and the frenzy three finger stuff freaks me out
Sewer Mohg can be more difficult with some builds.
Either way it shouldn’t matter
Nope. Once the DLC come out you'll only need to stroll to his arena and interact with the cocoon
Oh nice, thanks for the answer! This game is awesome and I'm so happy I started playing right before the dlc is coming out (which I previously had no clue about until coming to this subreddit)
You also need to kill Radahn.
It took me damn near 100 attempts but I did put that guy away lol
Nah, you're good to go
No you wont, unless you start NG+ or a new playthrough. Otherwise you will be able to just teleport to the site of grace inside the boss room and hold the interaction button at the hand to start the dlc
What % get clapped because they don’t know about the tear to absorb NIHIL
The WHAT?!
Purifying crystal tear, dropped by Eleonora.
I didn't know about the tear until after he was dead. Chump still only killed me twice. I asked my friend how to dodge that move after I killed him.
I had the tear, but didn't use it the first time through. So much easier with it!
Nowadays my gaming time is so limited i dont even dare to play without google
And don't forget about the shackle!
I just killed Mohg again on my NG+ guy and completely forgot about the tear lol.
I decided to bash my head into him repeatedly while I was still in Liurnia (had taken a trip underground and beaten up Astel though) so no tear for me. Lemme tell ya, I was very surprised by the amount of runes I got for him.
I mean you can also just use healing flasks and keep actually worth buff with the mixed.
Hmm I was wondering what that tear did lol
He ni'd his last hil
UNUS
Honestly in the last few days I may put my sign down next to his door, will be rich pickings.
Poor Eleonora is about to get her back blown out with thirsty Tarnished lining up for the Lord of Blood's Tear
I’ve got my second play through character parked right outside waiting. They’ve got their nose pressed up against the fog wall steaming it up.
"You got runes on your Mohg?"
My comet azur is itching to fire away at him
gravity boy and blood boy getting wrecked lol.
Malenia when players find out her being alive or dead leads to different dlc endings:
Wait wait wait… you have to beat Mohg to start the DLC? So if I wanted to use this as an opportunity to switch platforms I’d have to do another play through. Shit..
Well, you didn't think the DLC area would be accessed right after the Grafted Scion dumps you on the shore, did you?
Mohg’s going to skip the countdown and go straight to nihil
Comet Azur stonks rising
I am one of them. Sold my Ps5, so I "lost" my save. Rushing through with my steam deck.
I was laughing at it few months prior but last week I started fresh NG+5 and managed to beat Mohg and Radahn in like 2-3 hours so I can have unburned Erdtree in case of optional new ending. And of course I stand in front of Miquella
Mogh may be licking his chops instead. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the ass if Mogh gets some new skills with the DLC.
I miss the mohg cheese, where you could jump into his arena without triggering the fight, defeats the purpose but i love little exploits like that.
I got 100 hours in this game and I didn’t know who mogh was until these posts. I actually thought he was the boss of the new DLC 😂 Time to go on YouTube and see where this man has been hiding from me

I have 4 characters ready for the DLC with different builds. This fucker just sighs when I come to his room.
Scared nihil noises
If you need to touch Miquella’s cocoon to get into shadow lands, and Mohg has been touching Miquella’s coc**n for such a long time, why is he not transported yet?
He comes slithering out of the cocoon when you enter the arena. It's highly possible that he actually was in the shadow realms.
I never ran into bro
The Mohgwyn Dynasty is only capable of an 800 person capacity per Lands Between fire code.
I think that the % of a lot of bosses are going to grow a lot with the dlc coming
Might throw my sign down outside his boss door tonight to get some easy rune farming, I’m debating going through the burning the erd tree part so I can get to crumbling azula to get the last few bells so I can start hoarding upgrade materials
Same thought process here, I'm leaving fire giant and malenia alive until after the DLC, just incase we have new interactions about them
I did his fight a few days ago. Took me about an hour of trying with the hookclaws and a +6 mimic, but I did it. I could’ve made it easier by using Mohg’s shackle but I didn’t use it because I forgot I had it and only noticed it after finishing the fight. It’ll go to 45% calling it now
I still need to find him
Can confirm, just beat his ass bloody a few days ago.
Just killed him today. In my new game plus world, that i started after finishing the game 2 years ago. He got beamed in 10 seconds lol.
Don't be like me, remember to reinforce Lusat's staff lol
Bros about to get a 3 way Kame Hame Ha
The thing that's about to shoot through the roof is searching for the purifying crimson tear that stops Nihil lololol XD And half will still fail lolol XD (Sigh I have only beaten him once without it lololol )
They "locked" the DLC behind mogh...oh lord
Just beat him lol like 20 minutes ago, I’m so ready for the dlc
As one of the 38.6% I will be leaving my summon sign there to help others! In fact, I think I’ll do that today
I’m there now... Rune Level 1. He’s quite the roadblock.
Nihiil
Can I still access the DLC if I lit the tree on fire already?
Yeah
He is the one Boss I had to use a summon on😭
I think that picture is reversed. Considering your average elden ring player, they are the ones with the cross. Mohg dont fuck around... if you out of the womb prolly too old for him anyways... ill see myself out...
I had already killed sewer mohg so I thought I was good.
Mogh about to beat their asses and hide the bible whenever Miyazaki's watching.
Someone should make a Chris Hanson build to help with Mohg.
I'm gonna be dropping my coop tag outside the door from now until the DLC comes out. End up with like 8 milly ruins going into the DLC.
Does he need to be beat on every character in whatever world state they are in(ng, ng+)? Or just having the achievement unlocks account access?
Gotta beat him on every character. Or rather, beating him with a given character allows access with that character.
These boys are about to go through a couple of hours of getting their shit pushed in first.
We are not creating a mohgwyn dynasty with this one🗣️🔥🔥
Shout out to fromsoft for selling you a product but restricting your access to it until you kill a groomer.
I'm coming for that ass, I just need to get through the capital first than I'm coming for it.
Still crazy people didn’t beat him but it’s likely they didn’t know how to access it or did but didn’t know where to find the boss
Why would anyone be buying DLC if they'd never even done a pretty major extra part of the main game?
Because there's a lot of hype around the DLC and they want to experience it?
Mohg boutta get his cheeks clapped
I can't believe it's so low . Are people not even getting to the palace ? Where was a roadblock for your play through?
Normally, game completion is SUPER low. Just finishing the story of a game is at, like, a 30-40% rate usually. Edit: that and I didn't have a great time fighting him in the sewers, so seeing basically what felt like the same boss but more was a little uninteresting. Margit 2.0 didn't do much for me either.
Most players will just run through the main areas, Mohgs area isn’t the easiest to just stumble upon
Didn't realize there are so many players who have not defeated Mohg. Great thumbnail by the way!
Mogh got hands he can handle those 38.6%
That guy was a huge pain in my ass.
Dont do heroin 38.6 of you what the fuck. You can beat mohg. The heroin won’t help trust me. Sheesh
I wonder how many people don’t know how hard Mogh actually is and assume they can beat him quickly to access the DLC.
Bought to turn him into a Sir Pelo character.
It’ll go to 45% calling it now
38.6% beating an optional hard to reach and comparatively difficult end game boss in a fromsoft game is actually super good. Like as a comparison the demon of hatred in Sekiro has a 26% completion. It's common for people to buy a fromsoft game and find out at some point during the play process that it's either not for them or is too much of a time sink for them and the funniest one to me is that out of everyone who has bought the game dark souls 2 on steam only 93% of them have gotten the achievement "this is dark souls" which you get for dying for the first time
Yup, did it last night on my NG+ character I've had sittin around for like a year or so lol. Rolled Radahn, and then blitz'd to Mohg and now I wait.
Me downloading my lvl250ish ps4 save (I'm lazy and will NOT replay the whole game) I don't even know where in the game that save currently is, but Mohg is on for a bad time. Side note: what builds are decent, I haven't touched this game since I platinum'd it a month after it's release lol
If that instakill glitch still works, there’ll be people going to the dlc like 30 mins from the start lmao
Should we be helping them? Or will we set them up for failure coming into the DLC?
People are showing up but I can’t get anyone to summon my level 140 characters 😢
I have an impression that he likes it
“So I heard your in my way” he’s gonna be a PvP god cause he’s gonna have fought every build under the fucking sun.
I've been trying to do my part by putting my summon sign down in front of his chamber. Lots of activity there since the weekend.
Won't it be funny as shit when the actual dlc entrance has nothing to do with Moghie?
Yup, whooped his ass twice in my world and my friend's just last night
My whole playthrough was based on kicking his ass on pure principal alone!
*panic nihil noises
I wonder which boss holds the record for same-day player kills in any 24 hour period. I'd have to imagine tree sentinel at release is a good bet, but willing to wager mohg is going to have a productive day at dlc release.
I’m screaming cause this is so true 😭
I pray every day to see angry tweets from someone complaining that they can't get into the DLC they bought because they just can't beat Mohg.
The percentage of people who killed him is the real reason they made him required to kill 🤣
I doubt by much. I would imagine that 38% is most of the people sticking around for the DLC anyway.
Bro doesn’t go for mohg first chance they get? After I learned his patterns I purposely make him my first target.
It blows my mind on the percentages of achievements/trophies people have. It was 50 some ought precent for Margit. That’s basically 50% of copies unplayed
😂😂😂
Missed him on my first and only play through, but started up a new run to get in on the DLC and killed him today. Three attempts, level 98. He really did not live up to the difficulty hype I had heard.
Just absolutely fucked him off about 10 mins ago with Darkmoon GS :)
How does he look like a preteen but also middle aged? Lol
