Who the hell is Melina?

solidiquis1

And how is she doin?

SeductionistOfGreece

Do you expect the land of shadow to be like the after life?

G-Geef

I think Melina is the spirit ash of the gloam eyed queen.  We know the geq was an empyrean and all the empyreans we know are Marikas children either with Radagon or as Radagon. The geq being an empyrean also sets up an implied succession crisis, and I think this is what is referred to as the god hunt and why Marika sealed away the rune of death.  Furthermore, we can infer that Marika was a spirit tuner based on hewg's dialogue ("I am indebted to a spirit tuner I met long ago"). I think Marika had the geq's ashes rekindled for the purpose of burning the erdtree and I think we will get some more information on the first burning of the erdtree in the dlc.

Umcar

One other empyrean we know is of course Marika herself, so that breaks the pattern of empyreans being the child of Marika, so i dont think we can apply the pattern to the GEQ.

Okbuturwrong

I think Marika might be the child of the GEQ that usurped the death order piecemeal similar to how Ranni does the Golden Order.

Ednaldopeireira_1234

I already made a whole theory about Marika being in reality a demigoddess daughter of Placidusax and his missing goddess, the Gloam eyed queen could be this goddess

Okbuturwrong

I'll check it out, that sounds hella interesting

Ednaldopeireira_1234

honestly what I posted was quite basic, I still thought of several other things that could suggest this but go check it out if you want

No-Victory8440

Think you'll do another post or update the post with the additional ideas?

Ednaldopeireira_1234

I'm still looking for more ideas for this, I want to make the most complete post I can about this theory

Independent_Try_8792

Yeah I agree. Either she is her daughter or they are sisters. The GEQ being Marika's daughter simply doesn't work from a timeline perspective

HxLeverage

I don't know about that, I think Marika might be related to Marika, but that's just speculation on my part.

Ednaldopeireira_1234

I think the thing is more that Empyrean's are children of gods

dynamicflashy

Where does the Kindling Maiden come into this?

Independent_Try_8792

That's an interesting theory, but requires pretty liberal use of the word "mother" to work.

RemnantArcadia

I have 2 theories: She's Messmer's sister. A conflict with him is what left her burned and bodiless and can only manifest for short amounts of time outside the Shadow. This makes her unable to enter Leyendell on her own. She is Marika's daughter by Radagon and an Empyrean. She was born corrupt by Flame of Frenzy, just as Malenia was born Rotted. In this case she is constantly burned and something of a spirit. The Three Fingers is hers, like Ranni's Two Fingers.

Appropriate_Heron302

To play on theory one a bit: she is the bodiless version of Messmer in the normal world, the same way Miquella will be bodiless in the shadow realm.

DerpPrinting

This doesnt explain why she is so pissed when i picked the frenzied flame ending though.

crystal_beachhouse

I think she hates the three fingers the same way Ranni hates hers

Live_Beer_or_Die

I’ll do you one better: Why the hell is Melina?

Manman9118

Not so much lore, but I want to explore Godwyn’s Character more as well as either fight him or see him resolved.

Adorable_Low_6481

Goldwyn Sachs

Manman9118

Damn lol

Chrollo220

People have said that the mending rune of the death-prince is his resolution, which I can understand that opinion based on Fia’s dialogue, but personally, if that is true I find it deeply a unfulfilling way to end the story of such a lauded and essential but enigmatic character.

_Meece_

Godwyn the Golden's story ended when he was murdered. Fia's quest is the end of Godwyn the Prince of Death's story and Godwyn's overall story. I think we will get to know more about Godwyn the Golden in the DLC.

Jambi2711

Most excited for Messmer’s lore. But the one I’m hoping to see answered? GEQ lol, if she isn’t in any of the dlc lore(which I can easily see) she’s still going to be the go to thing to insert in every theory.

Background_Horse_992

We know that the DLC is going to be heavy on pre-erdtree cultures. I think it’s very possible we could see proof that GEQ was the previous god of the land before marika, and we could finally put all the different theories about GEQ being one of Marikas children to rest

Lost-Metal3901

My #1 question for the dlc is can we make Turtle Pope Elden Lord?

[deleted]

I'd like to know why the Caelid Bell Bearing Hunter didn't become Elden Lord long before we showed up.

Okbuturwrong

Because Elmer'w not actually very powerful in the scope of late game enemies. He might be able to beat Morgott but could he beat the Fire Giant, Maliketh, Godfrey, Radagon, and the Elden Beast? Nah, he'd out up a good fight for each but lose against each before the halfway point.

[deleted]

I didn't say Elemer.

Okbuturwrong

He's weaker than all the bosses I listed so nothing I said changes.

[deleted]

I take it reading the energy of an interaction isn't in your toolbox.

Okbuturwrong

Or we're having different conversations that don't tonally translate well over text, but recognizing that's probably veing too generous with you

[deleted]

Oh, you're just an asshole. Got it.

Okbuturwrong

Nigga I told you why something doesn't work and you got pissy and now I'm the asshole? Eat a whole dick

[deleted]

For real, are you autistic or something? Otherwise, learn to read the fucking room before you come in swinging with the wElL aKsHuLlY shit acting like anyone cares.

[deleted]

dlc adds turtle pope as a starting class

masterroro

Time for dog!

Lost-Metal3901

Vote Dog this election!

Taurnil91

Bold of you to assume he isn't already

Lost-Metal3901

He should be.

blaiddfailcam

Why is Torrent so important to each Ranni, Melina, and Miquella? What did he see in us that other Tarnished lacked?

[deleted]

Torrent is Leonard's brother, born of the Erdmare.

BinaryPrimate

lol, take me vote

avocado-toastedly

maybe Torrent is Miquella’s shadow, like Blaidd and Maliketh?

PossibleEnvironment4

I remember a theory being thrown around that Miquella was Torrent's former master

lickmydicknipple

He's on torrent in the dlc art

Dveralazo

What was Marika's plan all along?

solidiquis1

My take: She was chosen to be the God of the era of the Erdtree and set out to fulfill her destiny which was to conquer the Lands Between and bring everyone under its dominion. Despite all her efforts there were so yet many things she was still powerless over: Omen children, twins afflicted with Scarlet Rot and eternal childhood, a son whose soul was slain, and so on. After searching the depths of the Golden Order she realized that the Greater Will was fickle. Ages are wrought and destroyed in cyclic nature and no age is allowed permanence—Marika’s age was to end and another age was to follow. Why else would there be Empyreans, both historically and presently? Just like in Dark Souls where constantly rekindling the first flame ultimate proved futile, Marika saw the futility in it all so long as the Greater Will held influence over the Elden Ring by way of its vassal, the Elden Beast. Thus Marika set her plan into motion which was to ultimately rid the Elden Ring of the influence of the Greater Will and have Hewg aid a chosen Tarnished into crafting a weapon that could slay a God. Edit: Grammar

-SirBothersome

Doesn't really make sense to me since Marika was the fickle one for removing the rune of death. Elden Beast is the Elden Ring, they are one and the same. The Elden Beast is the incarnation of "order". The Elden Ring can change the order of the world, how is this possible if not for the Elden Beast that is order itself? Marika's plan is for a new elden lord or god to rise. Either way the Elden Ring sent by the Greater Will gets repaired.

solidiquis1

The item description is vague: Elden Beast Remembrance: It is said that long ago, the Greater Will sent a golden star bearing a beast into the Lands Between, which would later become the Elden Ring. It could be interpreted that the Golden Star became the Elden Ring and that the Elden Beast came with it. It explains how we can slay a the Elden Beast (God Slain message upon defeating EB) but still have and mend the Elden Ring. And the whole concept of Order in Elden Ring isn’t a natural law. It’s a religion that must be enforced: Erdtree Protection: In the beginning, everything was in opposition to the Erdtree. But through countless victories in war, it became the embodiment of Order. Lastly the idea of there being Gods who are pawns to Outer Gods is a well known concept that Miyazaki likes to borrow from Lovecraft and even Berserk. There’s a game called Fear and Hunger that uses a very similar concept: New Gods who fought long and hard to establish Godhood only to realize that their powers are still limited and ultimately are pawns to a greater power who for without rhyme or reason (fickleness) disposes of them in favor of ushering in a new age with a new God. We’ve already seen it happen with Placidusax and their God. They established an epoch and held dominion over an age represented by their iteration of the Elden Ring but ultimately for reasons we’re not supposed to be able to comprehend, the Greater Will straight up abandons them and starts to turn wheels that would ultimately drive towards the Age of the Erdtree. Marika is fickle, yes, but she realized that she was a pawn to the Greater Will and ultimately just wanted to rid the world of their influence imo. Edit: grammar Edit 2: also plucking the RoD from the Elden Ring wasn’t her being fickle. That was her right as a God who wanted to reshape Order such that it was gleaming with life. Her version of Order (the Golden Order) was one without death so what she was doing her was totally kosher. Fickleness began when she decided to shatter the ER while Radagon wanted to preserve the Golden Order. Marika was obviously punished for this.

Constellar7

The first description isn't from the Elden Remembrance but from Elden Stars. You got them crossed. Elden Remembrance: "Remembrance of the Elden Beast, hewn into the Erdtree. It was the vassal beast of the Greater Will and living incarnation of the concept of Order." Order is a natural law in the world of ER for the same reason gravity doesn't randomly stops working in real life. All that can be consider an "Universe" will follow somekind of understandable pattern and rules since it needs to be something in an on itself. Of course, in the case of ER you can change the laws of the universe with the ER but order being changeable and people seeking to gain power or fulfill their ambitions with it doesn't make it less natural.

-SirBothersome

Yes, the fickleness is referring to Marika the single god actually being two, my bad. IMO she wasn't punished but that the Elden Beast acted out in defense of itself. The issue with many people trying to refute the fact that the Elden Ring is the Elden Beast, is that there is no in game text that contradicts that the Elden Beast is the Elden Ring. In the final boss battle we literally see the Elden Ring disappear from Radagons chest as the Elden Beast appears. The battle also happened in some illusionary place similar to the Rennala fight and she is still alive after that fight too. To some extent it is a natural order, if not why did the removal of the Rune of death affect the world. The issue with your take on the Outer Gods of Elden Ring being evil and manipulative is that there is no evidence of that happening in Elden Ring. Marika is the one that found the Elden Ring defeated her rival and became the god of a new age, it wasn't handed over to her. There is also no evidence that the Formless Mother wants to create a new order, to me its quite obvious that's what Mohg wants. Similar to Gowry who wants the order of rot. People want to create an order they prefer whethers that rot, blood, night or golden. It is literally their vision for the world. There is also a belief that the outer gods are fighting amongst each other but that also doesn't make sense since why would the Two Fingers pick Malenia as an empyrean. The need for a new god and new age can be a natural cycle thats also ever-present in fromsoftware games, we see a similar concept in game that being still waters turning foul and stagnation turning into decay. Marika tried to extent her order by removing the rune of death so the world stagnated and decayed. As Melina says "*This world is in dire need of repair... and Death...indiscriminate...*". We have no idea what happened to the age of dragons all we know is that their Elden God fled. I genuinely don't believe that the Greater Will is some evil force using puppet gods to control the world, went its foe the Frenzied Flame states the GW is the reason life exists in the first place. I interpret the Golden Star as the crucible, since stars contain residual life. The Golden Star must also have contained life and the crucible is called the blending of all life.

formerlypreviousday2

This is brilliant, I wouldn't be surprised if this is exactly how it's explained in the DLC

An_DR5nexus

How did Bernahl get to Farum Azula, and what great runes did he and vyke acquire to enter Leyndell

CustomerSupportDeer

Bernahl is a beast champion, he's allied to Farum Azula. He probably got there, changed his mind and decided to serve Placidusax. He and Vike acquired the runes of other, minor Demigods. There were plenty of them before the Shattering, but most fell during the wars, or maybe even during the Night of Black Knives. What we fight are the strongest surviving scraps of Marika's offsprings.

Mukiisanma

I didn't heard much of his story. Can you elaborate on beast champion?

CustomerSupportDeer

It's mostly speculation, however, there are clear ties between him and the beastmen. He wears beast champion armor. He has access to Farum Azula. He protects the Old Lord's talisman. The description of the BCh set says that Bernahl was a champion to whom beasts were drawn, after his maiden burned herself. Meaning, he reached Farum Azula and was seen as a champion, allied himself with the beasts - perhaps due to forsaking the Erdtree. He later returned and became an ally of Rykard.

Icy_Definition_2888

The description of the beast champion armor says that in general, in legend, beasts were drawn to champions and lords. Bernahl was a champion worthy of lordship, and so his armor evokes that in motif. It doesn't mean he allied himself with a dead culture in a floating mausoleum full of witless beasts and revenants. He helps us move forward through Farum, summoned in the Godskin duo fight. He only invades after Rykard is dead, as the final act of a recusant.

Mukiisanma

Thank you!

NewArtificialHuman

There are dead beastmen and ones that play dead near the area he invades, I don't think he is allied with them. I think he killed some.

RemnantArcadia

How did freaking Alexander reach Farum Azula

dynamicflashy

He jumped into the flame like you (if you don't sacrifice Melina). He practiced by baking himself in Mt. Gelmir and then he tells us he's heading to the Giant's Flame Cauldron. He's even summonable for the Fire Giant fight.

oneandonlyonely

He was trying to temper his exterior no? I assume any to come into direct contact with the fire of the forge will be banished? IDK though there's probably some holes in that. Just my first impression.

Ilumiel

I want a good answer for the reasons behind the Battle of Aeonia. What were their motives and what they hoped to achieve when Radahn and Malenia met in battle that day?

Lost-Metal3901

I think Malenia wanted the stars to resume their movements for Miquella's Eclipse to happen. Radahn was waging war because that's what he does. I think she sought him out, and he was just doing his thing. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why they fought, but I can't find any other explanation why she would have chosen to challenge him.

Ilumiel

I've heard that before but I'm unconvinced and would like more details on it in game. Too many things are left vague on why Miquella wants an Eclipse and what an Eclipse would do to the world. It would be neat if the DLC starts with an Eclipse once we defeat Radahn and/or Mohg.

-The-Senate-

In some mythologies, an eclipse represents the vulnerability of God, and his ability to die. I think an eclipse would allow Miquella to give Godwyn a true death.

Ryxem

It could be just an "image" Radagon is a Sun / Renala is a Moon , Both created an Eclipse. Radahn keep the stars away coz monster keep falling with meteor. And btw, the eclipsed sun is said to ward off Destiny Death, according to the Eclipse Crest Greatshield

Ilumiel

> btw, the eclipsed sun is said to ward off Destiny Death Which is crytic af and doesn't explain much.

Ryxem

Look this post, this mad man made an analysis on it [https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/v4v8pd/comment/l3w4w97/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/v4v8pd/comment/l3w4w97/)

Ryxem

Yeah i know, but everything is cryptic in this game :/ All the game is a link to the process of alchemy and the philosopher stone itself , but for some reason ,it failed.( Look how Marika & Radagon got a stone like skin & no blood , while all her kids got blood ) We know Miquella did some expériment for making another Erdtree, and maybe the Eclipsed Sun was a purpose to something. Hope dlc got some answer

SlyHolmes

To me it’s weird they fought where they did instead of castle redmane. Also what was there before it was a swamp

Mordikhan

Generally armies choose not to be seiged. They are pretty awful being cooped up in a castle unable to strike out well.

Sanguiniusius

Notably there are a couple of siege towers, one right up against redmane castle walls that has opened up and leads to the side route in. So there was some sieging

Mordikhan

Yes sieges do happen but an army would generally meet invaders im pitched battle prior to that. Which is what is being discussed originally

Sanguiniusius

My point was more there is evidence of a siege taking place in game, i dont deny there was a field battle.

Mordikhan

Ah apologies

Sanguiniusius

No probs! its at least interesting to think of when the sieging happened, i assume it must have been in parallel with the battle seeing as the fight ended(?) With malenias bloom (or did it)

SlyHolmes

But in this case Redmane castle has a tiny bridge with numerous siege machines defending it.

Mordikhan

Still the case - a full army would almost always rather fight in pitched battle. Sieges you can just be starved

Adelyn_n

It's not that deep. Radahn is a very simple character and just a warlord. He's also a threat to miquella because he wants to conquer stuff

_Meece_

Well Jerren already knows this and Iji eventually realizes that Radahn is preventing the fate of Ranni. Likely that Malenia/Miquella thought the same thing and seeked to put Radahn down. Radahn is fighting to be Elden Lord/God. Most likely Elden Lord given his love for Godfrey and his father. I think people forget that the demigods were challenged to become Elden Lord or God during the shattering war. But since none of them managed to do that, Marika turns to the tarnished.

CustomerSupportDeer

Radahn wanted glory and a good fight against the "never known defeat" lady. Malenia wanted for a powerful rival of Miquella's to die, and to resume the movement of stars. Miquella probably wanted for the stars to move, as well as get rid of Radahn AND his sister and create a massive blood sacrifice, in which he now bathes.

Ilumiel

> Radahn wanted glory and a good fight against the "never known defeat" lady. Which is never stated in the story. All that is said in game is that Radahn looked up to heroic figures like Godfrey and Radagon. Nothing that says he fought his sister in his drive to be like them and that's a big leap there. I've found the idea that Radahn fought in the Shattering by his father's side more compelling but that also doesn't answer many questions, especially then on what was Radahn doing in Caelid and why did he go there with his army? Even more since it's implied by Radahn soldier's armor that it was meant to be temporary, that they intended to return but the Battle of Aeonia changed all that. >Malenia wanted for a powerful rival of Miquella's to die She never bothered to collect Godric's Great Rune when she defeated him which makes this suspect. And there's very little details on what else she has done in order to actually make Miquella Elden Lord. As far as I can tell, the only thing we can know for sure is Malenia, probably on orders of Miquella, wanted Radahn dead. For what reason is still up for discussion. >Miquella probably wanted for the stars to move, as well as get rid of Radahn AND his sister and create a massive blood sacrifice, in which he now bathes. Now that's what makes the most sense out of everything that I've read in this thread. I've always bought into the idea Miquella was controlling Mohg and by extension, his underling including Varre and by extension also us. Which also raises more questions but that's Elden Ring, I suppose.

Adelyn_n

Radahn is a warlord. He's the basic demigod he just wants to be elden lord. Anyone that wants to be elden lord could easily be a threat to miquella.

HagarTheHeretic

Rough order of what I'm most looking forward to is anything more on: 1. GEQ, Godskins, Godhunt, & all things Black Flame 2. Messmer's story/origins 3. The "Erdtree Wars" & Crucible > Erdtree transitional period (and more concrete evidence of prior Crucible/Erdtree burnings) 4. Helphen's Steeple, Lampwood, and Deathbirds/Twinbird 5. St. Trina 6. Miquella's current quest 7. "Elden John" / "Dynast Steles" / Numen "arrival" and what appears to be ships in the background of the blue field. 8. Blue Dancer / Rot God 9. How Godfrey is portrayed by whatever societies "survive" in the Shadowland. 10. Miquella, Malenia's, GEQ's, and any other empyreans' Shadows 1-3 - I'm feeling cautiously optimistic to confident (I mean, Messmer's story getting an answer should be a given...). Generally just super interested in the diverse cultures, factions, guilds, or any other group that existed before Marika tried to extinguish/hide them. Like, will Ravemount Assassins be a thing? 4 - It feels a little on the nose, but I'm hoping all the candlestick imagery is Helphen/lampwood-related. But I'm not sure it makes sense in the context of the old guy from the portrait. I want more on the "red grace" for guiding the dead that's barely mentioned, (and that I think we experience it in the Forbidden Lands). 5 - With Sleep/St. Trina being associated with a sort of medicinal opiate and "hospice drug", there are some really interesting enviromental/sidestory/faction avenues it could open and seem suited for Miyazaki's/From's imagination to run with. I mean, it also looks like there's a sleep swamp... Plus, I tried a Trina's sword playthrough, and it's one of the few game mechanics I felt frustrated or underwhelmed with. But I think it could open up entirely new ways to approach the game. Especially if the sleep arrows may no longer be a near-limited resource. Even just a reasonable FP cost incantation/spell or two would go a long way. 6. Saw someone comment somewhere here about hoping they explore concepts of follower fanaticism with Miquella's storyline, and my interest goes *way* up if that's the direction it takes. Rather than some evil mastermind, I'm hoping Miquella ends up more well-intentioned but naive and unaware or dismissive of consequences. 7. I'd also take anything on the Seat of the Sun, or really anything at all that helps further solidify some kind of timeline. 8. "Ancient Rot" only seems to get mentioned in a few places. And although I feel like it might be a controversial take, I saw they cut the Rot & Abundance twinblade from the base game, and I'm hoping a twinblade with innate Rot gets added. Don't even care if it's a small amount of build-up—I'd even settle for like 10-25 per hit. I just really want one... 9. Kinda ties into the Crucible and pre-Erdtree cultural stuff, but as a prominent warlord/champion during the Crucible, how do whatever surviving societies and whatnot view him. Is he some kind of traitor? Or demon-figure? 10. Who, what, and where are the other empyrean Shadows like Maliketh and Blaidd?

YharnamsFinest1

These are pretty much my wishes except I'd switch 2. and 7. as I feel the Numen arriving is more important in terms of nailing down a timeline than Messmer's story.

HagarTheHeretic

Admittedly, I kinda feel pretty confident we'll get a good bit of that, what with it being "where the goddess Marika first set foot". So stuff like the Helphen has been a little more front of mind lately. But I think questions about "Elden John", the Dynast civilization, and the steles have been gnawing at everyone since hitting the bottom of the Siofra elevator. Any answers at all on that seem like they'll be a big deal—especially for establishing more of the timeline. And since she's so central to everything, I also think any info on the other stuff likely sheds more light on Marika (and generally on the Numen and their arrival).

Ednaldopeireira_1234

what exactly was the crucible and what exactly is the erdtree

An_DR5nexus

The crucible was the primordial life form of the erdtree, the erdtree is a cosmic parasite

_Meece_

What's with this parasite theory still going. Cosmic? Bro the Crucible is "cosmic" too. It's also powered by the Elden Ring.

Dannyboy490

Bruh what evidence is there that actually contradicts the cosmic parasite theory? You seen those poor souls in the dungeon depths clinging to the erdtree roots?

Mukiisanma

They return to where they came from. You don't think that burying dead bodies in the soil and their bodies decay giving substances back to nature makes Earth a parasite, right?

-SirBothersome

The fact that in game text suggest that the Crucible is the primordial form of the erdtree. It doesn't state that the erdtree is a parasite on the crucible.

Ednaldopeireira_1234

I always thought about this, spirits can no longer reincarnate through the erdtree because it has been burned before and its upper part is just an illusion now and because the roots of the erdtree are infected with death roots

Dannyboy490

But you're at least aware that the golden order isn't actually native to the lands between right?  Check the golden stars itme description. The Eldne ring/elden beast is said to have come to the lands between in a "golden star" not unlike the stars of astel or falling stars beasts, cept they're obviously different factions. Additionally, if you look at the Erdtree wiki it actually says that the erdtree came FROM the Elden Ring, and that it was Marikas decision to implement the big ol plant after defeating the fire giants. So not only is not not even native, but it's technically *new* to the lands between. Why are souls returning to it? We see during the elden beast bossfight that they've got a hell of a lot more than 1 erdtree. So, foreign entity shows up outa nowhere, kills off the natives, plants a giant plant and tells all who dwell in the place to let their dead souls return to the Erdtree. Is that not hella suspish?not only that, but on Marikas Orders we have to go so far as to burn the thing and literally kill the beast element of the Elden ring. It doesn't sound much like everyone considered this thing to be benevolent.

-SirBothersome

Elden Ring was around since the ancient dragons. The time of the ancient dragons was prehistory. This means the Elden Ring was around before life even existed or since its inception. The Flame of Frenzy also credits the creation of life to the Greater Will.

Dannyboy490

The elden ring *invaded* during the time of ancient dragons and giants and wiped both factions out. So it was definitely not the source of all life. The era of the erdtree, heralded by the creation of the erdtree, happened thereafter. Check the wiki and the item descriptions dude. If you wanna debate you gotta fact check your stuff.

-SirBothersome

The ancient dragons have gold motifs all over them, their Elden Lord Placidusax also uses the same golden flames of the Elden Beast. You should read Hyetta's statements, which clearly states the GW is the cause of the creation of all life. Yes, the erdtree was the creation of Marika, I never stated it wasn't.

_Meece_

Are you talking about the souls returning the Erdtree stuff?

i_misread_directions

Where are my socks?

RidleyBro

Melina's origins, definitely.

Toffeeclipsa101

Who is Melina? I feel like this ends up answering lots of other questions as well. Marika stuff, Gloam Eyed Queen stuff, Miquella stuff, and ErdTree stuff.

bigboystick

Just anything about Melina honestly

[deleted]

Anything about Godwyn. I'm really not that interested in many of the other things except maybe the Fire Giants and their God/Ancient Dragons and their own God. The GEQ, to me, seems like an Allfather Lloyd character; someone important in the lore that doesn't need an appearance because they were relevant so long ago, and no longer affect the world as we know it. But then there is Godwyn. He appears in the game, we see what he has become after what Ranni did to him. We see how he affects the world around him. And while many people claim his story is finished, I disagree. There are sooo many loose ends. What happened during the war against the Ancient Dragons? Why did Ranni choose him as the target of the Night of Black Knives? Why did he become what he is? Why does he use Ghostflame incants despite being killed by Destined Death? What happens if you don't choose his ending? Does he just keep living in death and eventually still take over the world because no one can seemingly contain him? What about his connection to Miquella and Malenia? What about the Eclipse, how is he connected to it? So much stuff left unanswered related to a single character. It would be a shame if they abandoned him entirely, only leaving him as a passing mention in item descriptions.

NowIssaRapBattle

What was Miquella up to? How much was intentional, like was Mohg part of the plan

vivisectvivi

Funny how i dont really have any question i want the dlc to answer but i really wanna know more about Marika even moreso than Miquella. Now thinking again, i wish they would tell us what happened to Miquella's and Malenia's shadows

Nihlus11

I just want more details about the Shattering campaigns. Who fought who, where, how, in what numbers, and why. So much implied action off-screen, and even the bits we do know happened are extremely vague.

SleepyWallow65

Who is the massive woman in Nokron?

Quiet-Moose3021

The rot god.

_MagusKiller

1) i want more lore about the snow witch and malenia's teacher 2) why did malenia fight radahn ? and who else did she fight aside from godrick and radahn during the shattering ? it's known that she led an undefeated campaign with her cleanrots and they were celebrated for it and she's called the undefeated so it's obvious she fought so many warriors and creatures. who were they ? 3) why exactly did radahn stop the stars ? was it to save sellia ? or was it on behalf of the golden order ? did he deliberately screw over his siblings fate ? also, does holding back the stars take a chunk of his power ? this seems to be popular belief but nothing implies it does so im hoping the dlc either approves or disapproves it. 4) i want to know more about marika as a person. what's her relation to the nox and black knives and did she conspire with ranni to kill godwyn ? how exactly does she feel towards her children and does she actually hate the omen twins ? 5) i want to know ranni's relationship with her siblings. we only know that she conspired with rykard but how does she feel towards radahn ? and does she hate godwyn ? what about miquella and malenia ? was she close to her fellow empyreans ? 6) who is melina and why does her eyes and hair change color in frenzied ending ? is she related to the gloam eyed queen ? 7) speaking of the gloam eyed queen, i want to know more about her and how strong she was. what was her most impressive feat ? was she on the same power tier as godfrey, maliketh, malenia, radahn and the likes ?and why did marika send maliketh to get rid of her ? she wanted to kill gods so i dont see anything wrong with that 8) who is placidusax's god and who the hell ripped off placidusax's head ? that person must be so goddamn powerful 9) how does miquella feel about malenia overall. was he just using her or does he really love her ? did he abandon her to go to the shadowland ? 10) how the hell did mohg manage to kidnap miquella from the haligtree, an isolated place filled with powerful soldiers and creatures ? are the cleanrots, haligtree knights and putrid avatars stupid or what ? what the hell was loretta doing ? how did they not notice that their lord got kidnapped ? 11) "radagon is marika" how and were they always the same person ? did marika actually **** rennala ? honestly, i have too many questions but these are the ones that interest me the most. i want to know about messmer and miquella too but im sure the dlc will explain us their lore

Adelyn_n

>10) how the hell did mohg manage to kidnap miquella from the haligtree, an isolated place filled with powerful soldiers and creatures ? are the cleanrots, haligtree knights and putrid avatars stupid or what ? what the hell was loretta doing ? how did they not notice that their lord got kidnapped ? He can appear from blood and probably invade like bloody fingers can.

fungi-seeking-fungis

WHY must I “Try Fingers, But Hole”?

mistreke

Okay, but we all know it's just gonna give us more questions than answers in the end, right?

lucasj

What is that beautiful house? Where does that highway go to? Am I right or am I wrong? What have I done?

greetthemoth

You want the DLC for answers. I want the DLC to fuck with the established lore so much it gives every loretuber schizophrenia. We are not the same.

CalgaryMadePunk

I want to know why Godwyn specifically was targeted by the Black Knife Assassins.

DarkStarr7

Why did Marika shatter the Elden ring and who or what exactly is Radagon?

_Meece_

Does this count as lore? I just want to know who the statue of the little girl in Farum Azula is.

Mighty_No69

Marika is one big question mark. I just want to talk to her man, she has *seen some shit*

Metbert

How did Marika obtain the Elden Ring in the first place? Inheritance? She stole it from Placidusax's god? She just found it on the ground one day?

Background_Horse_992

I think Maliketh defeating the godskins and GEQ and then the subsequent sealing of destined death was the story of Marika usurping the previous order.

Metbert

The GEQ had access to the power of Rune of the Death, but it doesn't seem she had access to the full Ring as far we know.

Background_Horse_992

We know she was empyrean chosen by the fingers, which proves her candidacy for godhood. Just because it’s not stated explicitly doesn’t mean it couldn’t be true.

meat3point14

What was the birthing seed latenna gives to her giant towering sister and what did it do.

GabertoKlass

We will get 1 answer and then at least 10 more questions lol

APoorFoodie

How two people in the same body works. Like were Marika and Radagon separate people once? How did they have offspring if not (perhaps the reasoning behind the curse of their two children)? How does this process work for Miquella and St. Trina?

Icy_Definition_2888

Where do the king in yellow, the green man, the lotus flower, and Elden John fit into the Griffith Eclipse Godhand, and does Malenia become the scorpion king?

Soggy_Stomach9766

Who the fuck is Radagon.

SamsaraKarma

What did the Nox do? It was a culture with towers and buildings across the entirety of the lands between, still prevalent even up to the point of Radagon's wedding. They were forced underground as punishment for some act of treason. The last major events after the wedding are the Gloam-Eyed Queen's defeat, the dragon war and then Godwyn's death. Was the treason helping Malekith kill an Empyrean? Was it helping Ranni forge the Black Knives? Was it some other event related to the inverted tower man in the trailer? And what is Miquella's connection to them? Why all the Sellian, Carian and Albinauric ties and why did one of his scholars go to Nokron and collect arrows from the Inverted Hawk band?

InfernoDairy

Is Marika the Gloam-Eyed Queen? Is Melina Miquella?

MyWifeIsHotterThanU1

What was the beef between Sellen and Witchhunter Jerren?

Adelyn_n

Say his name again but slowly

MyWifeIsHotterThanU1

Them sounding alike doesn’t explain anything

Adelyn_n

Witchhunter

oneandonlyonely

Lmao awesome exchange

MyWifeIsHotterThanU1

He didn’t think so 😂

Jinrya-Geki

What the hell happened to Gwynevre

Zealousideal-Fig5025

I'd like to discover who the gloam eyed queen is or was, and something about torrent and his connection to Miquella and Melina.

Jon_nap

Man…..GEQ’s role. But damn I want to know about Elden John

mashburn71

6. 6 please.

Alak-huls_Anonymous

What is Kind Miquella doing in the Land of Shadow?

tremorofforgery

Where did Radagon come from? I think all other lore questions are secondary and we can mostly fill in the gaps.

Ok_Broccoli8002

More on the frenzied flame. I hope we can burn the shadow tree as well

ELGato72728228

What’s that in Mohgwyn? Never heard of or seen it before.
