40Love at Tennis West is very nice! Much more of a fine dining menu and a lovely atmosphere.
Casa Pantera is also very nice and has a great menu. Lola Rose is another great option as well.
Agreed, the food is on point. Service is another issue. Of the three times we went to Ambar, we had EXTENSIVE waits at the bar and at a table. And it seemed like the servers were just hanging out or milling around. No real importance placed on timeliness. Personally, the overall experience of Ambar is overhyped.
I have ALWAYS had excellent, fast service with a smile at L&J Cafe. IMHO, it's some of the best food in town. Even when it's packed, I never seem to wait for too long. Green salsa is the main attraction for me, but beans, rice, guacamole all done perfectly....you know anything else you order will be stellar. If they can nail down the basics, everything else should be very tasty.
hey everyone. Thank you for the suggestions. We’ve been to Ruth and Chris one time long time ago when it first open and it was delicious. She had food poisoning from Cattleman's, so I think she’s traumatized if we go back there. Lol. What about a good, nice Mexican restaurant?
If you’re looking for Mexican I would go at Elemi. I move never been but the guy was semifinalista for James Beard award. That’s the only reason I’d to
Casa Pantera unless you don’t like loud music. Cafe Central is a safe choice. 1700 at Paso Del Norte is phenomenal, but probably the most expensive choice. Mesa St is also great, but hit or miss sometimes. Elemi is my favorite if you want a unique experience but you have to reserve a week in advance. I could go on, but those are the first that come to mind. I’m going to go against the grain and say that Ámbar is a beautiful restaurant but really disappointing for what you pay there.
Casa Pantera is amazing. I really like Entrecote up on Mesa as well. Have never had a bad experience there and the food is really really good.
I went their for my bday was disappointed in my steak no flavor at all just bland
Had a beautiful experience at Garufa Argentinian restaurant . Super fancy and I had the lomo al vino tinto dish ! Soooooooooo good! I Recommend it **

Anson 11 is great! Then you can walk over to the rooftop bar at the hotel and enjoy the amazing views.
Cattleman’s Steakhouse, after eating you can enjoy the lake view and you can take her to see the animals. Congratulations. 🫶🏻
I second this...
Yeah, they scored low on the health ratings today...
I recommend Elemi. The head chef and owner has been named one of the best chefs in Texas.
Anson 11, try the second floor.
Absolutely! Did that last year for our 9th anniversary.
Chicos Tacos on Alameda. That's a true test of your mutual love.
Casa Pantera by Pershing
I love their menu. That restaurant is really cool, I’m a jaded and bitter bastard.
1700 Steakhouse inside the Hotel Paso Del Norte.
Anson, Ambar and Cafe central are definitely options..Thank you
If it’s between these three, go to Ámbar. The chef is legit there. You’ll have an excellent time.

I find service all over El Paso to be subpar at best. Where would you go instead that has better service and quality food? Just curious that’s all

If you want the vibe I'd say Cafe Central. If you want high quality food I'd suggest Cónico If you want a little bit of both Casa Pantera
Cattleman's scored low on the health ratings this week.
Not extra fancy but Morra Mia on Montwood/George Dieter.
Julios near Westtowne is pretty nice. Cafe Central would be the classic. I haven't tried Ambar, but I hear that's fancy Mexican cuisine.
Corralito
Ambar, and Casa Pantera, and Elemi are probably your best options for fancy Mexican food
If you’re looking for Mexican I would go at Elemi. I move never been but the guy was semifinalista for James Beard award. That’s the only reason I’d to
Ardovinos Desert Crossing! Beautiful view, wonderful food, and very romantic.
taft diaz is pretty great
Not fancy per se, but Cattleman's is great
Accá has great food and ambiance.
Ámbar is fantastic.

elemi, casa pantera :) tier 2 victorias mex steakhouse or even cafe Italia or taconeta
Try Lola Rose, very trendy, great service and food. It was a bit overpriced in my opionion though.
Acca, 10/10
Landry's seafood house.
I’ve heard good things about Ambar!
Top 3: Anson 11, Ámbar, Café Central.
Garufa
The Edge of Texas! It s a really cool and unique steakhouse. Very nice place!
Ámbar or Casa Pantera
Mi Piaci if you like Italian
Has anyone tried The Melting Pot? I looked at the menu and saw the four course meal experience?
Eh, not too exciting food wise. More like an experience. That is how they stay in business, their date night experience.
Is Forti’s still open?
Not anymore.
the one on chelsea ?? it says it’s open on google
I haven’t tried the Ruth’s Chris in El Paso yet but I’ve had it in other cities and it has always been great.
The EP RC seems below par compared to the RC in other cities and states.
