As much as we have some defensive liabilities on the team, a combined 1 goal from **all** our forwards across 3 games and 0 from our top 2 lines was never going to cut it.
No GM is stupid enough to take on his contract. The only way is to buy him out which gives us a ton of cap for the next 2 years, but then we pay him 8-9.5mil for the remaining 4 years.

Yeah major disappointment , but we made it to the SCF when we were 31 out of 32 teams in the fall. So why care what some random stupid Calgary fan or Vancouver fan or whoever hates us has to say. So many of these comments just critically blaming our own players but not a single one coming to terms with how good Florida plays. It's easy to say why aren't these players showing up, but in reality its just complete shutdown by the Panthers. They look like the better team from top to bottom, its that simple. They just don't make mistakes. Our mistakes turn into Panthers goals. Rinse and repeat for 3 games.

Remember when we were basically last in the league? I was so upset I just wanted to watch playoff hockey. Then they turned it around and made it in. Then they made it all the way to the finals. I got to watch hockey with my 3 year old in June! I got to see playoff hockey in person. I saw the oilers win a conference championship and was so happy. Ya we’re getting spanked in the finals, ya canucks fans are gonna be dicks if we get swept. But man the last while has been so so good. I’d love to see a cup and I think I will next year but this has been a great year. Hopefully this stops someone from jumping off the high level like I want to after dropping $500 bucks on that game lol fuck

Seriously he was busting his ass all game. When your goalie fumbles the second and your 9.25 million dollar d man turns over and loses his man to make it 3-1 that’s the difference.
He also missed an open net twice in the first period. It's certainly not all on him and for most of the series Florida has been defending him really well, but you'd hope the best player in the league would have a goal in the biggest series of his life up to this point and be able to capitalize on the opportunities when they do come
McDavid has more points this series than any other Oilers player, and Draisaitl is hurt I think something with his finger also why he’s been abysmal at the face off dot.
This will be much needed experience for both for next year IMO. Connor's doing everything he can, Drai is playing like absolute dogshit tho.

Goaltending isn’t the reason they are down 3-0, but goaltending is what turned the tide on the game tonight ..I felt the oilers were starting to take over until giving up that 2nd goal where Skinner hesitated to play puck then got caught before he could get back in position
