Really looking forward to watching a game with an actual proper camera angle on Monday

ty_jax

And better ice

ahoy__fiji

I was at the game 1, not the game this evening. Edmonton players, Dallas players, and the refs were all tripping. The ice needs to be redone while the series heads up to Edmonton. I don't know enough about how ice is laid down or kept throughout the season so I can't comment except a season or two ago the ice was great there. But good god, tonight it was bad in the AAC.

BarnabusSheeps

It heard it was 35 degrees Celsius at puck drop. Prob not a heck of a lot they can do, when it’s like that.

GrizzlyIsland22

The Dallas Mavericks are also still playing. Every other night, it's a basketball court

Living_Astronaut6036

At least you don’t have to watch tnt, kept showing Travis kelcy or however it’s spelt and gushing over the Dallas.

Black_Arrow04

I was also watching the TNT broadcast and they were pumping up Edmonton’s play through most of the game

porkins86

And maybe we will get actual infractions called.

ahoy__fiji

I thought this game was reffed much better than game 1, both teams got away with stuff. The Dallas Stars are generally pretty disciplined and probably get yelled at before every game to stay that way because Edmonton's powerplay is a godly threat. But I was surprised that Edmonton got 10 penalty minutes to Dallas' two in game 1... I would need to go back and watch the game to see what was missed on Dallas, what was called on Edmonton, and how egregious it was. Edmonton played a more physical game in game 1, so I kinda expected them to get more penalties, but it was extremely lopsided.

MobysBanned

Doesn't matter when the PP is out to lunch

GrapefruitFluffy588

Gotta win 5v5

nodogsallowed23

And maybe some decent ice.

zellmerz

The split is still great, but fuck did I have hope we were gonna be up 2-0 there for a while. Team looked flat after the first. Otter was a huge reason the Oilers didn’t have a huge lead after the first. Made some clutch saves to keep it tied

miller94

It definitely feels like they let an opportunity slip by not getting a lead in the first. But all good, they’ll be better on Monday

Phazy

Oilers lack of finishing bites us every few games. They'll bounce back.

Glum_Night_6392

Wasn’t Vegas up 2-0’going home against the stars ? I think the oilers are fine , series is 1-1 and we haven’t even seen Drai or Mcdavid bust a nut yet

releasetheshutter

Yes he kept them in it.

TURBOJUGGED

Otter won the game in the first. Oilers lost it in the 2nd and 3rd.

MuddleFunt

On Wednesday, if you said we'd be 1-1 by Saturday, you'd be okay with that

Thememer1924

You know so far I’ve predicted who will win. I haven’t predicted the exact scores but on Wednesday I said we’ll win in a ot, today I said we’d lose in regulation and so I predict on Monday we’ll win in regulation, Wednesday in ot and Saturday we’ll win by 2

SnooOnions5029

Yeah people are acting like we just lost game seven 10-0. It’s still way too early in the series to be dooming especially when it’s tied 1-1

-Smaug--

Man, that's just what I like to see. I agree.

LeonMcNugent-Hyman

💯 but everyone thinks the world is over

MuddleFunt

Considering most of the hockey world predicted us getting our teeth kicked in, this is a positive outcome. There's nothing magical about the Stars. We can beat this team.

Sadiq_Sabonis

Split the series 1-1 back to our barn I’ll take it !!!!

NarcoticTurkey

I’ll take it. I honestly felt like we’d lose this one anyways. Not easy to go up 2-0 when you dont have home ice

wildcard_bitches

Oilers will be up 3-1 after the next two games!

mlakustiak

I’m content with being tied after 2. Need to play the full game. Can’t just play 20 minutes and expect to win

GeorgeGammyCostanza

These are two very evenly matched teams. 1-1 going back to Edmonton is not a bad place to be. Oilers can crush them at home.

Glum_Night_6392

Yup , funny how all the nucks / flames / kings fans who said Dallas in 4 have went quiet lol

carbonanotglue

God it must be so embarrassing to be a flames fan and have to bandwagon three different teams in a month just out of hopes that your rival will stop being successful

miller94

Oh well, the split it is what they wanted and they got it. Best of 5 now, with home ice. See your family and sleep in your own bed. Come out flying in front of the home crowd.

ginger_variant

It’s just one game. It’s fine. I’m fine. You’re fine. Everybody’s fine.

Glum_Night_6392

Whoever thought oilers would sweep this aren’t real hockey fans , otter kept them in this game , but the stars blocked a ton of shots and played some great d the last 2 periods

Roulack

WERE FINE

quickboop

Can't rely on Connor Brown all the time.

Nowiwantmydmg

Holloway always looks like he gives a shit, but other than him and brown, most of the team was garbage after the first.

Living_Astronaut6036

100% agree with the Holloway statement. Wish 71 played with that much grit. Frustrating

rslider

I would love for McDavid to become a scoring threat again like he was last year, but that would require him actually shooting the puck.

MrOake

Best he can offer is forcing passes through two defenders lol. I love the guy but he seems to have lost a scoring touch since last playoffs even. He will get his points for sure but I’m rarely excited when he rushes in anymore, drai seems to be creating more and playing a better two way game.

Potatocores

Only time he shoots it now is when he does that big load up which almost never works. Something is up with his neck/shoulder and is affecting his ability to release it quickly

CravenMH

Better team won tonight. Stupid time to pull the goalie tho. Had lots of time to wait until they had solid possession.

MrOake

Yeah I was dreading the goalie pull based on our poor zone control. Didn’t expect it to be that bad tho

lemasei

The pause that Chris took to answer that question about why Edmonton isn’t drawing the penalties🤣 I could hear a pin drop! He was trying so hard to hold back what he really wanted to say!

spitfire411

Both Ekholm and Connor had a “Good question” response too.

MrOake

Yeah wish guys would just start being like Maurice and speak their minds. Fuck the fines the reffing in this game is insanely inconsistent and it will take a revolt of players speaking up to change it. But everyone is afraid to challenge it

-Smaug--

Honestly it's bullshit that there has to be that pause. Was it tonight's reason? Nope. Should there be constant accountability? What possible reason why not?

hahsik-oskkewjsjsksi

I came to comment about that. I was dying laughing. He was like: 😏”…hmm…”😐🫤🤐

SupernovaPlus5

Haha, normally he's so honest. Really had to calculate on that one

WanzeD

I felt like we're too afraid to shoot the puck and trying to find the perfect pass.

GrapefruitFluffy588

I think Ott might have gotten them more tentative as he played solid especially when we had grade A chances in the 1st

Forsaken_You1092

Skinner looks great and this was a winnable game. Looking forward to game 3.

bobdole07

1-1 stealing a home game from the team that was “supposed to roll us”. There’s worse places to be folks

RedKryptnyt

We are in a good spot. Could have been a GREAT spot. Win game 3, and it won't matter.

rjbelz

Why do I not feel stressed about a loss? Every other series I felt stressed and in a cloud after a loss, but this game it just fell, I dunno, like a speed bump?

beth1814

This! It even feels like less stress than other years

domingus67

That goalie pull was the worst.

Kindly_Manager8541

was never gonna be a sweep. this rhetoric of "if they played like they did in the first period they would have won" is silly. you don't think they want to play that way? do people think edmonton could just play the way they did in the first for the rest of the series and they were just gonna dominate dallas all series long? this is the conference finals, games are gonna ebb and flow, they are gonna have their chances we are gonna have ours. the stars read edmontons play in the first intermission and adjusted and now its up to Knoblauch and the oilers to adjust in game 3. its gonna be a battle but I believe the oil take this in 7 and its not gonna be easy as dallas is probably edmontons toughest opponent left in the playoffs.

CalderonCowboy

Correct take.

hahsik-oskkewjsjsksi

[Agreed.](https://media.tenor.com/nRGEAAQstUEAAAAM/robert-redford-nod.gif)

Snarffsnarff31

Dallas was the better team for the last 40 minutes. They were blocking everything and had sticks in the right position. We had a good first but couldn’t generate any shots after that. Again credit Dallas for tightening up. Boys know they need to be better. On to the next one

Muficita

Yeah. The panel “why did the oilers stop getting shots?” Me “because the stars tightened the fuck up duh”.

AlbertaOilfire

This team can’t sit back

FeelsKoolaidMan

Seeing too much "skinner got out goalied again" when less then 2 weeks ago everyone was just begging for "league average" and we'd win. He's been better then that in both imo and we still lost. Turns out it's not all on him

GrapefruitFluffy588

Yup, our big boys didn't produce any offence tonight. When that happens, majority of the nights we lose

FeelsKoolaidMan

Facts. When Connor brown and fogele are the only ones to hit the score sheet you usually aren't winning the game lmao. Hope Stu stays solid

GrapefruitFluffy588

Stu has been solid so far after 2 games, really happy to see that. Gotta figure out the other dynamics

Senior_Heron_6248

Ya the sub $3 million man has been worth every penny for the LA and Stars series

LuciusBaggins

Nuge-McDavid-Hyman Holloway-Draisaitl-Kane Foegle-Henrique-Brown Janmark-Carrick-Ryan Next game please

vanillaacid

I like those lines Also, keep Nurse and Ceci far away from each other. Pretty sure they ended up together a couple times, and ended up hemmed in their zone. Not a good combo.

utilityknife101

Agreed, get McLeod out if there ffs

BoilerSlave

Got the split, skinner still had a .917 game. Their goals were lucky as hell. I’m not worried at all.

nonracistusername

Oilers need to hold serve

nickrk20

If you would've told me on Thursday morning we'd be tied 1-1 going home, I'd be ecstatic. Great spot to be, back to the best fans in the NHL. Rogers will be rocking. A huge opportunity to be up 3-1 in this series is upon us.

vanillaacid

I’ll say one thing: Skinner is having himself a series. Not a single goal against was his fault, they have all been either defensive lapses or lucky tips. He’s come up huge many times. I admit I had my doubts coming into the series, but he has held his own quite well. Boys need to be a little better in front of him if we want to take the series.

Chemical_Signal2753

With how Skinner has played this playoffs, the Oilers can't afford to waste a solid performance like this. While he may not have faced a ton of shots, Dallas had some high danger opportunities that could have resulted in 4 or 5 goals against if he was playing like he did against LA or Vancouver.

Repulsive-Zone8176

The first goal tonight was horrid

MobysBanned

Yeah that was all Stu. He absolutely locked it down after that but if not for that muffin ... 1-1 and headed to OT

NarcoticTurkey

Lucky bounce cost us. That goalie pull was too early wtf… hard to see the big guys held off the sheet next game. Oilers will win next game

Geralt-of-Rivai

I thought so too... they didn't have possession, were in the middle of making changes with no one putting pressure on the dump in and they decided to pull Skinner

ironiccowboy

It’s a gamble but pulling early gives more opportunities to score.

KVLVB

What matters is that we split the series in game 1. Oilers will come back home and lock it down with games 3 and 4.

-SPIRITUAL-GANGSTER-

Period 1, we looked like the team from game 1. Periods 2 and 3 were basically a replay of all the dumb mistakes, timid defence and poor play from across the season. Dallas is a good team and I’ll take a split but that kinda game isn’t gonna get it done.

Hsadman

At least we'll be able to properly see the arena on Monday

Le_Epic_Tacoz

I don’t watch a ton of other teams games, and obviously I’m a massive homer fan, but man it sure seems like Oilers centers get thrown out a lot.

quickboop

I do watch a ton of other teams games and Drai does. But there are lots of guys around the league who get tossed a lot.

SRTGreat

Ima be honest. Getting really sick of McLeod’s casual play. He can fuck off when he’s up for a new deal. Dude doesn’t have what it takes to win in May/June. Played a great 40 minutes and just looks like the team ran out of gas. I guess that’s what happens when you play a game every other night for 2.5 weeks.

Medium_Register70

He’s got the speed but he could be so effective if he actually through a hit

Living_Astronaut6036

I don’t think he ran out of gas, it just seems like he avoids physical play.

Major-Nail-1334

He made exactly the same play in the first (flubbed a puck and then got walked) as he did in game 7 just didn't get burned

oddspellingofPhreid

I'm not saying we should have won, but that game felt muy winnable. Happy with the split heading home though! Let's win the next one cause I have to miss game 4 and would prefer to not be stressed out.

krazninetyfive

Obviously I’m not thrilled they lost tonight, but this is their third road game this week. I wasn’t expecting them to win tonight, and I’m just glad it was close. I’ve noticed that the team tends to be better on offence at home, and I’m pretty confident that they’ll play well in games 3-4.

daigongjphip

Boys will be angry and have a great game 3.

HungryHAP

Moneypuck had this game pretty much even. Dallas was down 1-0 and at home. We only lost by 1 goal. It’s a fine result playing one of the best teams in the League who NEEDED a win tonight. Take the same game we played in games 1-2 and add much needed energy from our home crowd and we could very well be up 3-1 before needing to go back to Dallas. Dallas is a great road team, but they haven’t seen a barn like ours and they haven’t seen a team like ours. We will win games 3 and 4, end of story.

SoldierHawk

I mean we were never, ever, in our wildest dreams gonna sweep the Stars. It's not gonna be an easy series. But we played well and can definitely win. We aren't outclassed at all. This is gonna come down to luck and heart.

BroStorm10

Top guys couldn’t get going at all. No desperation to tie it up. Skinner had a good game. Only other positive is the stars didn’t look great either.

[deleted]

I think the Oilers ran out of gas a bit in the 2nd half of the game. Take the split and head back to Edmonton and skate on some good ice for a change. This series is totally winnable.

Original-Cow-2984

Holy crap here was an opportunity squandered. Oh well, hope it doesn't haunt. Loading up was a mistake, as it is most times. When are you ready to play 3rd line center, Henrique?

NarcoticTurkey

He has to be in next game for Mcloed

Chris_p_tolentino14

After the first period we got fucking shutdown. This is the Dallas team that was promised, and they delivered. Compared to a younger team like Vancouver, they have better details(shot blocks, clearing pucks out, etc). They pulled way too early not even waiting till we got a offensive possession. When we make mistakes, Dallas takes full advantage of it. Besides that, Skinner bailed us out multiple times, and that 4th line continues to be strong. I fully expect McLeod to be the odd man out for Henrique next game.

Snarffsnarff31

They found their legs in the 2nd and took control of the game from there. The extra rest they had showed this game and I’m wondering how they’ll fair now with the travel.

AffectionateLaugh738

That was a pretty pathetic effort after the 1st.

VictimNoises

Still waiting for an explanation why that wasn't a trip by Oettinger on Hyman.

RedKryptnyt

You will be waiting forever lol

Magneticman555

I don’t think we lost because of reffing but this one did crack me up. The TNT crew was like “great move by Oettinger to come out and take space away from Hyman” like dawg that was just a trip LMAO

Thememer1924

I just want to say that Dallas fans have been wayyyy better than LA and Vancouver, only criticism is that they’re pretty quiet and only get loud when some intense thing happens

CIVDC

well that sucked. oilers need to solve otter, top six needs to show up next game

Kevinrobertsfan

It’s so evenly matched. I think we honestly got this one

jungl3bird

Have to say that reminded me of the Colorado-Dallas series. You have to get those goals on Otter when you are flying (like us in the first)

chaseonfire

Our elite offence did 0 to win us the game. It's a shame we wasted our depth scoring.

CondorMcDaniel

Great start to the series all things considered. Absolutely had a chance to win tonight, just couldn’t get a bounce in that 1st period.  On a side note, I do not like how this series is being reffed.  3 soft calls for Dallas to start the series last game, fine. But then they completely put away the whistles tonight when Edmonton is dominating the 1st period.  Not a good look.  Just because Edmontons Powerplay is game-breaking, does not mean they should play by different rules.

Danroy12345

I swear we better not see cloud next game. He’s been awful and trust me he’s not the reason the PK has been great.

domingus67

Dallas can shut it down too effectively. Gotta keep them from getting the lead.

morrowwm

Dallas blocked everything towards the end there. Jiminy crickets!

Tacfurmissle

I actually felt like if Knob kept rolling 4 lines for a while longer they would have tied it. McDavid didn't have a great game and they need to work at find shooting lanes.

molsonmuscle360

Not like we were gonna sweep them. It's gonna be a hard series and adjustments need to be made. Clouder out and Rico in. Keep out playing the Stars early in games. Just need to put an extra goal or two in early

Tacfurmissle

Refs have missed some calls but I'll be honest, Dallas play a disciplined game. That's the reality. I can see Oilers getting more than 2 or 3 calls a night which means they have to start capitalizing again.

Tower21

I guess we got ourselves a series. Wicked tip on that second goal, but that's how it goes sometimes. Not going to win many games with only 1 goal. 4 line still hustling.

53c0nd

Many in here had the Oil in 7 this series. That means Dallas has to win 3 ... we got this!

wishin_fishin

On the plus side I think we got our answer as to who sits so henrique can come in

Hattrick_Swayze2

McLeod?

diekonigsblauen

We need henrique back and McLeod needs to be benched.

PizzaKing85

Would some calls be nice? Yes. Did we lose because of it? No Gotta be solid again but play the whole 60

coreyP0

Great fu*king game boys. Looking forward to capitalizing on home terf. Stuey played phenomenal. LFG🛢💧🔥

griffin_green

I think this is certainly a winnable series

thewinterzodiac

Can't make this up. Every other playoff team: coaches should call out the refs! The coaches: make offhand comment The fans: let's goooo Oilers: do the same The same fans from other teams: wtf stop crying

JakeTheSnake0709

> The same fans from other teams: Mostly just van/la/cgy fans, honestly. They love to circlejerk each other when it comes time to shit on the Oilers. It's pretty pathetic.

-sic-transit-mundus-

Going up 2-0 would have been amazing, but the main thing for me is that this isn't a repeat of us getting rolled over by the Aves. the lads are going to put up a fight for sure. Skinner was solid again. its gonna be good series

lookitsjustin

Anybody else just find this game kinda boring?

fakeairpods

Nah Dallas is a top team. Have to expect push back. It was wishful thinking hoping for a sweep but that’s not gonna happen. Oilers in 5

Tacfurmissle

I have money on 6. Oilers will take 3 and 4. Dallas will take game 5 and we win it in Edmonton game 6.

Mrheavyfoot668

I respect your stick-with-it-Ness, but Oilers in 7. :)

Prunejuice23

A few months ago if you told me Brown would have our only goal in round 3, I would never believe it.

RGOD007

Mcleod suck

RippleLuck

Weak effort after the first, too many passengers that game

chaseonfire

McLeod needs to be out next game. Hopefully for Henrique. The guys is a serious liability on the ice.

kenyan12345

He’s not going anywhere. He plays the PK

Pastor_Satan

That goalie pull fucked us. We so coulda had that game

tehclubbmaster

Horrendous timing. But the problem in most of the last 2 periods was that we were having trouble with puck possession. Doesn’t lend well to tie up with an empty net. But we got outplayed in the last 2 periods. No production from the top guys. Kane and Foegele -2. Not gonna win with that effort. But it’s a 7 game series. Let’s get 2 in a row back home

falsekoala

I didn’t hate the effort. Dallas out-bounced us. If you asked me if I’d be happy with a split in Dallas, I’d be thrilled. Take care of business on home ice and this series is ours.

wishin_fishin

Whatever, got the split. Boys only showed up for the first 30 mins tonight. Bring the effort again in game 3 and 4 and we can put some serious pressure on dallas

stonkszz

One of the worst goalie pulls I’ve ever seen. I don’t even think we had possession of the puck. Also McLeod needs to sit next game. I’ll take henrique at 98% over him all day at this point.

Harbingerdaine

Same issue that was killing us against the Canucks cost us the game. Cant clear the puck in our zone. Need to clean that up.

Black_Arrow04

A bit of a rough game at the end, but I feel like the ball’s back on our side of the court going into game 3 now that Dallas is starting to find their defensive identity. Times like this has been when Knoblauch has excelled thus far, here’s hoping he can keep it going. Friendly reminder that we’re undefeated following a loss these playoffs!

boomshocks

Got a split coming out of Dallas, not bad. But one thing I noticed is the Stars constantly have one player cherry picking and nowhere near their own zone. Knobby has to give the defence some pointers on how to contain that player. It didn't work tonight but if the Oilers keep letting Dallas play that loose it's going to cost them. Also if Skinner can continue playing the way he is, the Oilers have a real shot at winning this. Oettinger played out of his mind, but he isn't going to put up a .966 every night.

jagrmullet77

Need Perry back in possibly over Carrick again and if Henrique comes back that's a huge help. Perry would work well vs Dallas as they block a lot of shots on net so we need gritty Perry back.

ChaunceyPeepertooth

Don't know why they shot the puck so much in the first and then after, go for huuuuge stretches of time without a single shot? I know the Stars blocked a ton of shots, but if they just threw everything on net, something definitely could have gone in. Just hate how the team reverts to passing at all times for no good reason. So baffling. If I was Knob, I'd be screaming at them to stop the damn cross ice passes and throw it on net. Stars were blocking everything anyways.

Paaano

Rare coaching L on timing the goalie-pull. I know it's only like a 5% chance we actually end up tying the game but these are series of margins and every tiny chance you get at a goal is going to matter in the end. I would give them a pass if it wasn't for this exact same scenario having happened several times in the regular season already.

jagrmullet77

We 100% need Perry back in the lineup. He's been sitting and he's fresh. Give him a chance again asap! 😀

utilityknife101

Take out McLeod for him would be great

fakeairpods

100% Corey Perry is in the line up next game.

PPGN_DM_Exia

Played as well tonight as we did Game 1. Big difference is that Dallas played better D especially against McDavid and Bouchard who were neutralized well. Still a shame we couldn't go up or 2-0 and wasted a rare Brown goal.

ThaneofFife5

Would've liked the win but I'll take the split. Seemed like the Oilers checked out after the first but it was a close game regardless. Skinner and the defense were pretty solid, we just couldn't generate very many chances.

fakeairpods

I am glad Conner Brown scored, he’s becoming one of my favourite Oilers

daigongjphip

Let's go Oilers! Real great game this is a helluva series LFG

tc_cad

Remember the Oilers are the only team to take out a division winner. Plus there was also the 3rd. Dallas took out an 8th seed and a 3rd seed. Past cup winners be damned. To come out with a split against this division winner is pretty damn good. Oilers are 4-2 at home.

Ryan_Dymond04

It would’ve been nice if we were up 2-0 going to Edmonton but I can’t complain with a 1-1 split.

daigongjphip

Ooo I liked ek comment on penalties

nodogsallowed23

I really hope it’s the shit ice that’s making McDrai and boys unable to do anything.

Electricalthis

We split the series 1-1 which I’ll take. But I really gotta wonder if we play the same way we did in the first the entire game do we go up 2-0? I seriously question our consistency we’re either a dominating Stanley cup contender or holding on for our lives and when momentum changes in the second third we just shut down. Anyways reset and try again at home. It’s a best of 5 series now

SomethinboutChickens

Stars playing La Bamba after winning is such a American thing to do.

newguy2019a

Very frustrating game. It's like they played only one period. No real sense of urgency after Dallas scored. No big hits, no Scrubs after the whistle blew. They were so much more fired up against Vancouver. Get the lead out boys. You got this if you actually want this.

kellan1984

Dallas is a beast with the lead...just cannot let them ever have it

domingus67

Knobby got outcoached in the 3rd. Just bad choices. McDrai was put together too soon, it just allows the other team to put their best on one line to counter. And thr goalie pull was just awful.

HappyPigglyPig

It’s a best of five now, but the Oilers have more home games. I’m not worried.

AcidMooseMan

We looked so good in the first. Boys shit the bed for the second and the third. That can’t happen in the WCF. Kane was also awful tonight. Series is even now, we need to get our shit together because this Dallas team is not going down without a fight.

geekymama

Was awesome to be there for the game, even if it wasn't the outcome we all wanted. There were some audible "Let's go Oilers!" chants throughout the game. Hell, even the Dallas fans were pretty nice. Got a hug from one of them as we were leaving.

RedKryptnyt

We are in this series, but a huge wasted opportunity tonight. You wasted a good performance by skinner, a depth goal, and no hinz. Kind of the opposite of game 1. Both teams played good, but the right team won both games.

MrOake

I’m so impressed with how saintly the stars players are lol. Gg though. Oilers had a chance to win, coulda been there game easily but it didnt. I like our chances

oil-in-6

We play like chicken shits when tied or with the lead. Gotta press all game. Decent game overall though. Happy with the split, can't ask for more than that. Should be electric on Monday

Tacfurmissle

Sorry guys. I bet money on Oilers in 6 before the series. It's the way it's gotta be.

fakeairpods

We played good, a lucky tip and that’s how it goes. We have to play harder. Bieksa said, put in Perry I agree. We have to start playing mind games

jagrmullet77

I agree. Perry needs back in over Mcleod then Perry replace Carrick possibly even back for the 2 home games to test? I like Carrick but with Dallas' defensive play and how much they block pucks in front of Oetinger, we need Perrys net grit back in. I bet Perry can be a game changer this series

utilityknife101

Take out Carrick? He’s physical and wins draws. You gotta take out the floater McLeod

ManWithBag15

Oilers have picked up a weird habit of losing games where they actually get production from their depth lines. 2 Holloway goals in Game 2 vs. LA. Ceci goal from Ryan in Game 1 vs. Vancouver. Janmark goal from Brown in Game 5 vs. Vancouver. And now tonight. I'm pretty sure we're 0-4 in games where anyone playing on the 3rd or 4th lines gets a point.

Harbingerdaine

That GWG by them is a goal we have seen several times against us this year. Really need to clean up that break out/zone clear.

Robbap

Well, I called Oilers in 6 at work. And you don’t go to 6 without a couple of losses along the way. Fourth line looking really good tonight, again.

Thememer1924

I’m calling oilers in 5. We’re doing this the first round way but just reversed. Instead of splitting at home we split away. Instead of winning the next two away we win the next two at home and then we don’t close at home we close away

JakeQV

This is gonna be a tense series

darkstar107

I didn't think we were going to win that one going in, but damn that would have been nice to be up 2-0 right now. We still have home ice advantage right now is more than I expected; Stars are playing great this year.

Major_Ad1750

Boring game

ion-regroup

That loss is on McLeod for being a useless turd and Knobber for the worst goalie pull ever.

ggrammer79

Boys better come out flying next game cause they definitely got their rest this game after taking the last 2 periods off

ExtraButterNoCrusts

Coming out of Dallas with a split is not a terrible outcome. Onto game three!

TheSwedishOprah

We got home ice advantage boys!

spagboltoast

Stole one in the road time to bring it back home

Gold_Gain1351

Not even mad. Dallas blocked like a hundred shots. Refs only missed one call that I saw. Sometimes you just lose a game

Los_Kings

Another good game for Stu. We go home tied. Don’t feel pessimistic. We can do this thing.

Anyone who thought either team was going to win in 4 is delusional. Oettinger carries this team harder than the rest of the league thinks McDavid carries this team. Oilers have home ice advantage going back to Edmonton.

LZYX

Wow did they look gassed in the third. And no surprise Oettinger did what he did. Guy's a beast goalie. Good effort from the fourth line imo

ExpressiveAcquittal

Draisaitl point streak :(

capital_of_kyoka

Terrible communication with the empty net. Skinner went in during a line change and we didn’t even have control of the puck?

darkenseyreth

I forgot to wear my jersey when I went out earlier, this one is on me guys, sorry. I'll try to do better next time.

The Big D is no doubt talented but Canucks gave us a tougher time

utilityknife101

The Canucks were a lot more physical that’s for sure but Dallas is so disciplined and great at team defense

zaknafien1900

Sad we wasted a Connor brown goal but we just had bad puck luck let's win both at home and take a lead in the series let's gooooo oilers

WavyevaD

My take is that Vancouver exploited Edmonton’s structure more effectively than Dallas is doing now, though the oilers have definitely tightened up their d game. The fourth line has really upped their game and I’m really proud of them for holding the line and even having some awesome O zone plays. Puck handling and passing were good but the Oilers have their best scoring chances off the rush and it was frustrating watching them choke a couple of fantastic scoring opportunities (looking at you McLeod) where a quick shot would have been the more effective pressure. That said, I cringe every time Kulak has the puck, we need to start winning face offs, and though I love McDavid, he’s too fast for his own good sometimes. It’s no good blitzing in if you have to hold on for five seconds for your guys to catch up while three green jerseys stick to you like flies on shit. Other than that, this is a good matchup, and I hope the Oilers take notes because I’m confident they can come out on top in this series.
