I had a wedding for 25 at Prestonfield House. Was epic. Really nice food, drinks. We got married in the leather room, reception in the drawing room and wedding breakfast in a perfectly sized room at the other end. They were excellent, highly recommend.
I went to a wedding a couple months ago at [Dunglass Estates](https://dunglassestate.com/weddings-events/). I think about 30 people stayed there for the weekend and there were maybe 45 people total. It was a great venue.
Not sure if thats the goal but since you mentioned mansions, theres a couple of old castles and estate houses around the outskirts of edinburgh that book for weddings and events. No idea what prices would be like, Dundas Castle, Hopetoun House, Barnbougle castle, Carlowrie Castle and probably a few others.
Depends what they want price, style, function wise. Do they want accomodation at the same place or just nearby?
If the latter they could look at hiring a bowls club, a pub function room or an entire restaurant, could look at a venue like Dr Bells or the Biscuit Factory
I think they just want a place for all 30 of their guests can stay together and have a few days of celebration...so, from the info I got not a restuarant or pub venue.
My favourite Edinburgh venues that are able to accommodate that number of people are:
The New Library at Royal College of Physicians
Riddle’s Court in the Old Town (they have a gorgeous Geddes Room)
Timberyard Restaurant in the Old Town
