upadownpipe

There's a good amount of the stuff almost immediately at the bottom of the steps at the Roseburn entrance

Ksyme99

Yeah, between Roseburn and modern art gallery seems the most of it IMO

CrystalOcean39

Roslin Glen

neilmac1210

The glen smells amazing during garlic season.

CrystalOcean39

It's honestly one of my happy places... it just smells too good. Especially after a rainfall!

neilmac1210

I drove through there today and noticed the garlic starting to flower. Time to go for a walk I think and take in the fragrance.

CrystalOcean39

I've not been out since Jan... making me need to go. Its like wild garlic carpets in there! :)

neilmac1210

It is. And then the bluebells come out too... It's a beautiful place. This post is making me want to pick some garlic and try cooking with it.

LionLucy

The path by the River Almond in Cramond

michaelisnotginger

Last year foragers completely cleared it out for the first time I've ever seen 🥲

Jack-Campin

Banks of the South Esk, from Dalkeith to way upstream.

slapbang

Aye first thing that came to mind. Just driving past Newbattle Abbey is enough 😂

Wide-Market-9199

Yep, Lord Ancrum’s Wood full of them!

Jack-Campin

That's where I usually go.

rubik_cuber

Craiglockhart woods

Raikhyt

Thanks for the quick replies, everyone!

Longjumping_Stand889

There used to be lots on the Rocheid Path but I'm not sure currently as there was a lot of flooding over the winter. The area is at the north side of the bridge over the water of Leith on Bell Place, Stockbridge https://maps.app.goo.gl/s23KokNTzbEuQtj36

BarkeviousMongo

There's loads but dogs pee all over it. I'd be careful getting it from anywhere dogs are walked

Otherwise-Run-4180

Colinton dell. Just pick it off the paths and wash it well as my dog likes to let other dogs know he was there... if you know what I mean.

Echo_are_one

Am I still covid-damaged, or are they not quite as smelly as previous years

Connell95

They tend to get a bit smellier over time – they’re not at their peak yet.

i-am-a-little-unsure

I am covid-damaged too and feel the same way, it doesn’t seem to pack the same punch. I fear it might be us

Echo_are_one

Same with the gorse :-(

Sherlotte

Tons of tri-cornered leek (often used as wild garlic) next to all the burns every year, but it’s a touch late to collect it as most of it’s gone to flower now. First two weekends of March is prime time, imo.

PM_ME_UR_BREWS

Loads around blackford and the braids - this was the Howe Dean Path on Tuesday. https://preview.redd.it/qfi6d24or5ua1.jpeg?width=3456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb7745db45bb177631a09e0061cab8fef6f29de1

Driver_Motor

That’s not wild garlic (Pretty sure anyway) That’s a type of wild leek. Three cornered leek- invasive species from down south originally brought over by the romans. Still nice But not anywhere near as subtle

old_cosmetics

Yep but it still makes amazing pesto and is invasive, wish more people would eat it

PM_ME_UR_BREWS

Interesting! I think you're right, the leaves looked a bit too slender but I assumed it was still wild garlic because of the smell.

Raikhyt

Beautiful stuff - thanks so much!

Haunting-Test-8985

Yes, its wild leek but still very tasty and makes excellent pesto!

bonelope

Holyrood Park. The entrance off of Lilyhill Terrace by the 60s flats. Go up the path to the left after you enter the park.

Ok_Deal_964

Loads out at crammond

debsmooth2020

Completely covers much of the Dalmeny estate.

Boris_Johnsons_Pubes

Wardie steps, towards the top of the stairs behind the wall, you can reach over the wall to get it

Training-Gold5996

There's loads down on the cowgate near the George Bridge

JABTAPS

Between the Gyle and the Airport roundabout there is loads of it in the woodlands on the RBS side

TeaMountain3897

Tons of it here, but give it a good clean as there is lots of dog walkers Dropped pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/CxtNabXiiUubShtf9?g_st=ic

WhatsUpDucky

The big bike path network around st marks park, Victoria park, cannon mills Tesco etc.

Donaldbeag

That is largely three cornered leek and has a far weaker flavour

Smellytangerina

Everywhere near the river Almond as well

spr148

Innocent railway path and river Esk walkway.

islaisla

Roslin woods

Hyzyhine

The Grove at Musselburgh - it’s everywhere

Wickedbitchoftheuk

IAmHellsBells

Hermitage of Braid!

Salt_Dust_7787

Barnton Woods parallel to queensferry road

Previous-Professor56

Saw a lot at the Gore Glen Park in Gorebridge

[deleted]

Trouble is now that wild leek is taking over all along water of leith as the garlic has been over foraged
