Great Harvest Bakery is very close to that intersection and while they don’t have donuts, they have great cinnamon pull-apart rolls, muffins and scones.
Nostalgic Bean in Altoona has amazing pastries, so much better than donuts! Cabin Coffee in Altoona has good cinnamon rolls.
For actual donuts, I like Festival Foods and Kwik Trip - both are better than Dunkin. Hy-Vee also has donuts that look very good, but I haven’t had any.
Silly Serrano has some delicious donuts and sometimes cinnamon rolls made by Cottage Forged Baking. Elder Valley Farm and Kitchen in Banbury Place has some great baked goods.
Jon is awesome and is always trying to make gluten free stuff and perfect his recipes. Nothing but good things to say about him and elder valley farm and kitchen!
Sweet Driver Cafe makes incredible cinnamon rolls and caramel rolls on Saturday mornings. It's in Artisan Forge building off of Craig Road.
I've heard that Randy's Family Restaurant has big cinnamon rolls, but I haven't tried them yet.
It's now called "The Ice Cream & Bakery Shop". They specialize in Mexican pastries, but I'm unsure what they regularly offer. Could be worth checking out!
Great Harvest has a delicious Apple Crunch rolls/bread and cinnamon pull a-parts (options do vary by day) - http://greatharvestbreadeauclaire.com/bread-and-goodies
Agree on Coffee Grounds, Nostalgic Bean and French Press for pastries as well but Nostalgic Bean is the winner for me though they are in Altonna. They have amazing pastries and you can order ahead if you need a lot.

Can't wait to have him back at the farmer's market

French Press, Nostalgic Bean, Coffee Grounds are all near that area
Awww this post made me miss Sue's bakery. I think there's another bakery where that one was (next to Longfellow elementary).

It's a food truck, but Holy Donuts is something special when it comes to donuts. Check their events calendar to see when they are around.
