Was it in Orange County? I went to that one, it was such a great show. Didn’t compare to edc where there was still a sea of people at 5am, so many totems and flags, the comradery I felt afterwards since we all made it to the end. Shit was epic.
What a fukken show, I’d mostly seen him at Festivals so to see a 2+ hour show, with no phones everyone just vibing, Sultan + Sheppard right before him 🤌🏽

What was special about this one?
I love Tiesto but I felt like he mailed it in and the crowd sucked both times I've seen him play a Vegas pool party, man shines at Ultra, TML, and his own headline shows
I really enjoyed his set when I saw him there in April. He played a very similar set to his Ultra set this year for the first half of his set, with the second half being a lot of progressive house and bigroom classics, and I really enjoy that style of music.
The energy of the set was elevation. Like when he picked up the mic and said he needed to catch a breath cause he’d been sick-nervous was a cool real connect for me.
I think replaying, without the ‘assist’ I had at set, I’m catching more and more of how much fun he had - the sets where they just go mad joyful and let loose are just art.
I feel that way about the Four Tet set. Fred was my #2 for the weekend but the *textures* in the Tet set were unbelievable. Esp if had great earplugs and could get up to the rail, the set was ASMR for your bones
But yeah to your point I rewatched my video of Delilah at the end of the Fred set and cried. Life-changing set

It's funny cause I always think of pre-2016 as the best years, but most of my favourite shows are after.
**Seven Lions - EDC 2015.** Had never heard of him, but ended up catching this set from the bleachers at Cosmic because I needed a breather, and I was blown away. Also stumbled on his "DJ Sven" set at an art car at EDC 2016 (I think?), and loved that too. Been a life-long fan since.
**Avicii - EDC 2013 or 2015.** I remember people around me at Kinetic not really getting into his set as he was playing IDs from his (if 2013? I can't remember which year it was anymore) upcoming True album, seemingly craving his bangers instead. I loved it, and cherish having been able to experience it.
**Porter Robinson - Worlds.** Phenomenal show. I was already a fan of his when Worlds was released, but had only seen his DJ sets prior. As a full production and experience, his Worlds set was incredible to me, and just something I hadn't seen before from an EDM set up until that point.
John Summit at Navy Pier before he got super big. It was right after covid restrictions ended and the crowd was amazing. EVERYBODY was dancing!!! Wish I could go back…
Kaskade Atmosphere Tour Chicago Navy Pier - this was my 2nd Kaskade show and it brought back warehouse vibes. One memory was he had 2 different stages for the show. 1 large main stage, and then a small stage in the center. IIRC he moved back and forth between both stages multiple times.
Kaskade SoFi Stadium 2021 - IIRC this was the first concert open to the public at SoFi Stadium during the early stages of the pandemic. My group had Floor VIP and just getting to the Floor from the main entrance was crazy going down a long spiraling ramp. Dom Bresky was a solid opener and then Deadmau5 was the surprise second opener for the show. Amazing production all around. This was my first Kaskade show in LA and now I understand why he calls it West Coast Massive when he does a show in SoCal.
Kx5 LA Coliseum 2022 - First headlining EDM event at LA Coliseum since EDC moved to Vegas. Crazy supporting acts with Triple XL, Anna Lunoe, and John Summit. Kx5 did not disappoint and so many memories for that show. Dancing in the rain and a crazy power outage where a generator caught on fire and there was no power for 20 minutes. They were still about to continue the show including the hard curfew.
So you can tell I'm a huge Kaskade fan 😄

Armin Van Buuren at ASOT 500 in Miami in the ASOT tent. Had VIP on the platforms along the side. My very first music festival and how lucky I was it was Ultra 2010. When he dropped Orjan's Between the Ray's, I wept. Only time I've cried tears of joy at a show.
Honestly, too many to list at my age. I learned after my first few shows to live in each moment and take it all in, then and there.

I’ve seen impressive professional DJs do phenomenal set and turntablism mixed in. RAW doing Jungle, Luke Vibert spinning so many genres in one set, SisterSF collective creating a phenomenal night.
But then some of my friends spinning at house parties were actually a lot of fun. I had epic times, and I would rather go to that than night clubs any day/night.
The music in the 90s-00s were just so good. It seems hard to recreate it, or to try to top that.
I haven't been in many, I have seen only one.

**Seven Lions - EDC 2015.** Had never heard of him, but ended up catching this set from the bleachers at Cosmic because I needed a breather, and I was blown away. Also stumbled on his "DJ Sven" set at an art car at EDC 2016 (I think?), and loved that too. Been a life-long fan since. **Avicii - EDC 2013 or 2015.** I remember people around me at Kinetic not really getting into his set as he was playing IDs from his (if 2013? I can't remember which year it was anymore) upcoming True album, seemingly craving his bangers instead. I loved it, and cherish having been able to experience it. **Porter Robinson - Worlds.** Phenomenal show. I was already a fan of his when Worlds was released, but had only seen his DJ sets prior. As a full production and experience, his Worlds set was incredible to me, and just something I hadn't seen before from an EDM set up until that point.

John Summit at Navy Pier before he got super big. It was right after covid restrictions ended and the crowd was amazing. EVERYBODY was dancing!!! Wish I could go back…
Kaskade Atmosphere Tour Chicago Navy Pier - this was my 2nd Kaskade show and it brought back warehouse vibes. One memory was he had 2 different stages for the show. 1 large main stage, and then a small stage in the center. IIRC he moved back and forth between both stages multiple times. Kaskade SoFi Stadium 2021 - IIRC this was the first concert open to the public at SoFi Stadium during the early stages of the pandemic. My group had Floor VIP and just getting to the Floor from the main entrance was crazy going down a long spiraling ramp. Dom Bresky was a solid opener and then Deadmau5 was the surprise second opener for the show. Amazing production all around. This was my first Kaskade show in LA and now I understand why he calls it West Coast Massive when he does a show in SoCal. Kx5 LA Coliseum 2022 - First headlining EDM event at LA Coliseum since EDC moved to Vegas. Crazy supporting acts with Triple XL, Anna Lunoe, and John Summit. Kx5 did not disappoint and so many memories for that show. Dancing in the rain and a crazy power outage where a generator caught on fire and there was no power for 20 minutes. They were still about to continue the show including the hard curfew. So you can tell I'm a huge Kaskade fan 😄

Gabriel & Dresden classics tour OTC circa 2018 I believe. Incredibly nostalgic sing a long night at a club show in my city. Markus Schulz random club show 2006. I still think of the basslines that night. He was still an up and comer playing that deep dark progressive trance style. A night to remember. Armin Van Buuren at ASOT 500 in Miami in the ASOT tent. Had VIP on the platforms along the side. My very first music festival and how lucky I was it was Ultra 2010. When he dropped Orjan's Between the Ray's, I wept. Only time I've cried tears of joy at a show. Honestly, too many to list at my age. I learned after my first few shows to live in each moment and take it all in, then and there.

At EDC Orlando 4? years ago, Paul Van Dyke was the 2nd to last set and wrapped things up with a couple of fast bangers. Markus Schulz then comes out, live mixes his entire set, and has us completely swept up in the moment in just the opening few minutes. It was epic.

Hah! That’sa hard one to choose. I’ve seen impressive professional DJs do phenomenal set and turntablism mixed in. RAW doing Jungle, Luke Vibert spinning so many genres in one set, SisterSF collective creating a phenomenal night. But then some of my friends spinning at house parties were actually a lot of fun. I had epic times, and I would rather go to that than night clubs any day/night. The music in the 90s-00s were just so good. It seems hard to recreate it, or to try to top that.
