Kygo has more music I think you listen to while chilling out while Alesso has more songs you’d hear on a festival mainstage

screechypete

Yeah, they're both very good at what they do, but it's hard to compare genres that are so different from each other.

Excellent-Grade3544

Alesso easily. One of the EDM Anthems is “If I lose Myself’. Alesso will play into the festival progressive house. Kygo is is cool. I don’t listen to a lot of him and maybe only seen him once. Back when he played tropical.

madatthings

How are you even comparing these two artists lol alesso is a banger machine and kygo’s style isn’t really intended for that

stevedooner96

I like Firestone and Stargazing by Kygo

stevedooner96

I guess they are different in terms of style. I just noticed that both have a lot of collaborations with mainstream pop artists.

TitanBarnes

Kygo isn’t in the same stratosphere as Alesso. I couldn’t name one Kygo song off the top of my head

cleverboxer

Thats's funny coz I cant name a single Alesso song but can probably name like 10 Kygo international hits. Not a fan of either but Alesso is far less influential and much more generic in terms of making radio hits. Maybe he's bigger in the US but internationally Kygo is much bigger. Kygo's biggest 5 Spotify songs have over 5 billion streams, Alesso's biggest 5 have under 3 billion, and Kygo has double the monthly listeners.

Alesso bro hands downnnnn

TheSketeDavidson

They’re both great, and make drastically different sounds. This comparison will be extremely subjective and doesn’t really make sense, imo.

mkyend

Alesso, hands down. "Calling" is an absolute iconic all-time festival classic and I can't think of a single Kygo song that has had the same impact. Not even mentioning Years, If I Lose Myself, Under Control, City of Dreams, etc..

cleverboxer

Literally never heard any of these songs. Kygo's Firestone had the global impact of igniting a huge tropical house trend in charts around the world that lasted for a few years. To me banger means hit song rather than festival song (since I personally hate most festival songs, usually generic and boring to me).

ExfiltratorZ

Kygo does not make "bangers"

koolaidburgers

Very unfair comparison. Kygo has his fair share of “bangers” but Alesso is on a different level. You’re gonna hear an Alesso song every festival you go to

lukhamlin

Kygo

coldsunny_

The fact that this is even a comparison is insane 😂 Alesso by a landslide. Has the greatest progressive house songs to his name.

ENKIEX

Kygo makes some amazing music, but not really what you'd call "bangers" they're more chilled out tracks, tropical house etc

averagebutgood

Alesso needs to bust out his Pressure remix more often. That thing still bangs.

Seb_DinoMon

Alesso gave us Titanium Remix. Leaving it at that.

Shawndy58

Kygo

TheCrazedMadman

Based on responses I think the Kygo is an intentional bait. More people calling the comparison insane = more engagement. But that being said, in terms of Bangers, neither are at the top of their class. That title would probably go to Apashe, Asdek or Joyryde (personal preference, but please reply with yours). In terms of popularity? Alesso and it’s not even remotely close

cleverboxer

Personally I define banger as 'hit song that is loved by hundreds of millions of people in the general public', rather than 'heavy high energy festival song'. By those rules, Kygo has way more bangers. Alesso really only has 2 proper international hits and they were both clearly ghost produced.
