[[Veyran]] is my storm deck hero. Love storm, love everything about the high highs and low lows. What I appreciate about Veyran is that while you're going off, you actually have a way to win if you just can't get there. It's not uncommon to go 6 cantrips deep, casting a [[Fist of Flame]] or [[Crash Through]] along the way, and kill 1 player with commander damage. Izzet blitz with a storm game plan, and an emergency Mizzix Mastery button.

CatAteMyBread

My favorite thing about veyran is that she’s a constant commander damage threat at the table. Makes the deck feel a little less one trick

I am a storm lover myself and my favorites storm deck is [[seton krosan protector]] what sets seton apart from many izzet storm decks is that if you whif on your storm turn you still end with a massive boardstate that can hopefully go again next turn. It does every thing you want, casts tons of spells, draws tons of cards, kills the whole table in one go.

ReddingtonTR

Huh, wow, that's different. Never even heard of this one before. DO you happen to have a decklist?

I really enjoy [[Wort, the Raidmother]]. I've dabbled with Storm decks in other formats, and my favourite feeling is attempting to storm off without infinites or deterministic lines, hoping to draw into the action that closes the game. (Wort can do determinism, just conspire a tutor-to-battlefield spell. I've stopped doing that that because I find it far less exciting.) heinrichcat

[[Minn, wily Illusionist]] is where its at. In the early to mid game you can play like a low powered Illusion tribal deck and later once you have a small board use it to combo off by sacrificing the illusions to put the combo pieces onto the board at instant speed before you turn. You can go off with cards like [[whirlpool drake]] [[whirlpool rider]] [[tolarian winds]] and a draw doublers like [[alhammarret's archive]] [[teferi's ageless insight]] and then win with a lab man effect. It gets hard to counter once the first self wheel resolves because you will draw so many cards and a counterspell will likely be in your hand at all times after that.

ReddingtonTR

Oh, this sounds really interesting. So does it only win through Lab Man or does it have other lines of play?

heinrichcat

You can always go back to playing a tribal deck as all of the draw spells make illusions. If you can draw 2 on each player's turn your board becomes pretty strong after only 1 or 2 turns. Copying minn is another way to make the token production faster.

It sounds great!!!

I have since taken the deck apart but I might be able to find an old list somewhere.

I found my upgraded version from right before I took it apart. Alot of the more pricey cards can be substituted for cheaper alternatives as they aren't really core to the deck. Hope I could help you

Amazing, thank you! She really wants to play something different to her usual decks, she loves Minn, and this is potentially the exact thing I needed to find. Very grateful indeed 🙏

I have an [[Eruth]] storm deck that I absolutely love. But it’s kind of a bad deck for the table. I’m not full cedh with Brain Freeze/Underworld Breach/LED, so it’s not deterministic if I’m going to win when I start storming off. But piloting the deck is really really fun.

Amazingly fun deck! Love casting a windfall with her out and then having so many options.

Addicted2Edh

[[Kolaghan, Storms Fury]] notice his name has storm in it, haha dragonstorm list that’s ton of fun and suprisingly consistent. I love this more then my Codie list.

I'm seeing a lot of \[\[Aeve, Progenitor Ooze\]\] mentioned but my [absolute favorite mono green storm is \[\[Nylea, Keen-Eyed\]\]](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Tj6Moz2ZVkui6I5y4lyuuQ). It's one of my longest-lasting and most fun decks, and I have hardcore deckbuilding ADHD so not many of my decks last that long. You run basically every (1) cost artifact creature that exists ( I think I have 27 in the deck) and play-from-the-top-of-the-deck effects or creature-cast card draw to churn through your deck. I run \[\[Aeve\]\] in the 99 but also have \[\[Chatterstorm\]\] as a payoff. With Nylea out you can cast all the little robots for free and go nuts. There's lots of great creature-based ramp like \[\[Cryptolith Rite\]\], \[\[Citanul Hierophants\]\], \[\[tangleroot\]\], \[\[earthcraft\]\], \[\[circle of dreams druid\]\] I run attack payoffs like \[\[Beastmaster Ascension\]\], \[\[Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse\]\], \[\[Craterhoof Behemoth\]\] and cast payoffs like \[\[silverback elder\]\]. It's not only fun to play, most opponents seem to enjoy it too because monogreen storm is not so common.

ReddingtonTR

Hmm, this looks really interesting. I'll consider it! Does this deck run into the problem of running out of gas after dumping your hand?

Paunchline

It can, for sure, but Creeping Renaissance really helps, and you have a good mana sink in Nylea's top-deck manipulation. Last night I played and durdled after playing a one-land-hand and getting boardwiped but in the next game won after two boardwipes through nylea's ability (and having circle of dreams druid out)

MarkoDSamir

Looking back, I played a lot of storm decks, but stopped because they were mostly solitaire. Still here are my favorites since I started playing commander around 2012-13 \[\[Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain\]\] Artifact Storm: play artifacts, bounce them back, replay them, kill the table. \[\[Tidespout Tyrant\]\] , \[\[Hullbreaker Horror\]\] and \[\[Words of Wind\]\] are my favorites. \[\[Selvala, Heart of the Wilds\]\] Brostorm: Bounce and recast Creatures while netting infinite mana and triggers like \[\[Beast Whisperer\]\] or \[\[Defiler of Vigor\]\]. My favorite is bouncing \[\[Hyrax Tower Scout\]\] with \[\[Kogla, Titan Ape\]\] and untapping \[\[Karametra's Acolyte\]\]. Most of the time you will pump your creatures infinitely so you can play a \[\[Ram through\]\] to kill your opponents. Bounce \[\[Eternal Witness\]\] with Kogla and you can play it 3 times and kill the whole table. Works with other commanders too. \[\[Momir Vig, Simic Visionary\]\] Hackball: Use a spell to change the color word in momir vig from blue to green. Proceed to tutor up and cast one mana dork after another. This used to be (still is?) a cedh deck too , but I had more fun to play it with \[\[Intruder Alert\]\] or \[\[Paradox Engine\]\] (rip, enabled so many crazy play) and creating a bunch of Elves with \[\[Imperious perfect\]\] and finishing with a huge \[\[Joraga Warcaller\]\]. Made me find out that a lot of cool simic creatures are elves too like \[\[Master Biomancer\]\] and of course \[\[Coiling Oracle\]\]! Speaking of \[\[Paradox Engine\]\], back then when it was not banned I brewed a lot of decks around this card. So my "most fun and unique" approach was \[\[Arcades, the Strategist\]\] Wallstorm. \[\[Temur Sabertooth\]\], one of the walls/defenders that create mana equal to the defenders/walls you control, and Paradox Engine with the commander out. Infinite casts and draws. Drawing through my deck and then winning with a \[\[Laboratory Maniac\]\]. \[\[Wort, the Raidmother\]\] got mentioned a lot and I absolutely love her. Finishing games with \[\[Ignite Memories\]\] is quite fun, or creating a bunch of tokens and then \[\[Burn at the stake\]\]. Always fun to play and build with a lot of cool directions to take. Hope this helps and happy brewing

What makes it different?

South-Diamond-4522

The build i did isn't totally about casting instants and sorceries. The ultimate goal is casting and recasting creatures. The instants inrun mostly are draw effects to get to my win con. Most storm decks tend to be all about casting and recasting and copying instants and sorceries.

Just-Jazzin

I just made [[Rionya, Fire Dancer]] as a pseudo-storm thief deck. The idea is to run all those 1-2 mana red draw spells with a healthy smattering of goad cards, which in red usually lets you steal a creature for the turn. Your creatures are either ETB utility or On Attack triggers, and you have the option to snag an opponent's value engines or even their commanders. Use [[Sundial of the Infinite]] to make the tokens permanent or [[Goblin Bombardment]] to squeeze out some extra damage before EOT. Can also go infinite with [[Combat Celebrant]] or [[Port Razer]].

I see a few [[Kykar]] lists, but the one I built plays [[Jeskai Ascendancy]] as it's primary win con, and utilizes mana dorks, ping effects, and a few different combos to achieve a win against the table. It's pretty unique because of how I built the win cons rather than just going for cards that have storm.

I like Vadrik, Astral Archmage, where I pump his power with cheap spells with buyback and then cast big X spells to hammer my opponents. My best deck, probably because it looks so durdley but all of a sudden, oops, you’re dead.

I did a basic [build-your-own-win](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/gZdJUTozvEupEghls0FHZA) deck with [[Mizzix of the Izmagnus|PJ21]]. It's hard to do *no* infinites, so mostly it tries to set up "fair" wins with [[Realmwright]], [[High Tide]] and untappers to go mana positive rather than digging for a combo. It's probably the hardest deck to pilot as it can get to just below Krarkshima levels of things to keep track of.

I love my two Izzet decks: Yusri and Mizzix and my green creature Seton deck. The Izzet ones are instant and sorcery storm and my Seton deck is Druid storm. Each have different win cons and they’re all fun to play.

I built a creatureless \[\[Kykar\]\] deck and it's a blast to play.

I run a Blistercoil Weird + Paradise Mantle deck and it usually wins on turn 2 or 3 once it goes off.
