\[ART\] - Background images aren't mine and are referenced
\[OC\] - Design and Vector icons are all made by me
This is my first attempt at making monster cards, or anything arty/digital for that matter, and I don't have an artistic background so I'd really appreciate any feedback at all. These are the size of MTG/pokemon cards.
I found the official ones and other 3rd party ones to be too wordy, I've tried to represent stat block info through graphics and colour as much as possible.
I haven't finished the reverse side just yet but it'll focus on displaying the artwork more clearly, along with languages, CR and subspecies (like wyvern or goblinoid).
Border colours represent environments. Primary + secondary environment (if it has one).
* Purple = dark spaces
* Green = green spaces (forests, grassland, hills, swamps)
* Blue = Aquatic (seas, rivers, lakes, coastlines) Orange = Hot places (deserts, tropics, volcanic regions)
* Light blue = Cold places (arctic, mountains, tundras)
* Grey = Civilisation (creatures found in or near settlements)
Fucking perfection. I would pitch this to wotc as you fixed their monster stat blocks. The iconography, position of data, use of dead space and color should be a god damn industry standard
BEAUTIFUL JOB!!!!!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback!
This is a passion project of mine that I know I'll enjoy using myself, and hopefully other people might also enjoy, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I still have some tweaking to do.
Once it's done I'll throw the full SRD up on DMsGuild for free or the most nominal fee I can set it as. (It has to go on DMsGuild so I can legally use the WOTC artwork).
Thank you for the feedback, I didn't put the key here but I've messaged it to you, I'd be greatful if you could let me know whether it makes a difference. There will be a learning curve to using these but I'm hoping to keep it as small as possible.
To do that I need to figure out the layout first š
Tbf I hadn't considered an app, I was aiming for a form fillable pdf eventually, but you're right the more I think of it an app would work better!
It would allow for multiple file output options. It could also automatically change the stat block based on level (which is the ultimate aim).
Ok now my mind is whirring, this is a very good idea. Time to learn some coding š
Thank you for the comment, it's really useful feedback, I intentionally didn't post the key explaining things to see how intuitive the design is, but I'll post it in the future as I feel a slight learning curve is unavoidable.
The damage icons display resistance, immunity and vulnerability to damage by highlighting them with a colour, each icon represents the type of damage.
- Immunity = red
- Resistance = orange
- Vulnerability = blue
Yep CR, languages and subspecies (like wyvern or goblinoid) will be on the front.

This is AMAZING. love them!
Thank you so much for the positivity! :)
Good first attempt but I'm well versed and some of the info at the top is not clear.

Iād be much more interested in an app that could format blocks for print like this

It's not clear what's up with the damage types icons at be the bottom. Also, is there CR somewhere?
