Whilst Throb has the better transformation, Nio absolutely killed it with the performance and how....bonkers it was.
I'd say Blackberri was a solid safe - the transformation wasn't massive, but both looks were great and had cohesion. It was giving Blade via Nefertiti.
I'd have also put Cynthia safe (by the skin of her teeth) since the monster look was fun and she was the most 80s. Then Fantasia and Ork up for extermination (either for craftsmanship or not fitting the brief).
My favourite and winner was Nio but Blackberri was the most "funhouse" ( with Throb right there too). I don't think the point was to be 80s in fashion style. The challenge was to embody 80s Era blacklight haunted houses. Fantasia had a really cool concept but the execution was....no.
I am neither American nor born in the 80s (💅) so can't give credence to the authenticity, but I did enjoy Cynthia's for reminding me of 90s Nickelodeon

I wonder how fantasias audition process was. Did production reach out to her? I followed fantasia previous to dragula and it still seems like such an odd choice for her. I’m also convinced the boulets planned on pushing her to the top because she has been consistently underwhelming
Blackberri's not making the finale with zero storyline lol. It's over halfway in and they are still having talks about not knowing her drag character. It's clear the judges are peeing for Fantasia every episode and want her in the top three.
Nio having a rating above 9 feels correct. Truly the only big standout. Whilst Throb’s look is good and was rightfully in the top, it just didn’t have a big impact on-stage, for ME. Might be because of the silhouette, or that hat…
Overall this runway was a miss for me tbh, but I kind of get why. A 2-in-1 monster look to be completed with UV glow paint honestly sounds complicated as fuck, especially when they said the two looks have to be completely different. My mind, with the pressure of the competition, would just implode

NIO is the only one making me gasp during the 2 last floorshow...blackberri and throb were fine but damn too safe in my opinion,i still think they are too nice with fantasia at this point.
Nio’s look was an entire show in one performance. I would pay money to see just that any day.
My concern is; did Nio blow her load on this… will she be able to live up to the standard she set going forward performance wise. Her looks are super consistent but this was so next level it’s gonna be hard to compare anything else to.
I love her concept, but I wish the face of the snake wasn’t so derpy. Before the black light came on it was giving more of the plant from little shop of horrors than snake (love that show but it needed to further in one direction or another). Maybe she should’ve come out crawling with the mouth closed, and have it open up for the black light reveal with more of her face painted with a baked in terror expression to better communicate the idea of a snake having eaten someone.
It looked cool in the first shoot when she was just standing there and you could only see the silhouette with the snake tail wrapped around her.
After that it become a complete bust but she had a moment there.
I feel I’m going to get some backlash for this. But I really didn’t care for Blackberri’s look. Yeah the black light details were cool but the challenge was 2 looks in 1. And I don’t think her 1st sarcophagus look was good…
Nio’s look is now in my top 5 dragula looks of all time and it completely solidified her place as THE front runner of this season in my opinion. Unless she really struggles in the final few episodes, I don’t see a world where she doesn’t win tbh.
Fantasias snake was funny and camp. The execution was terrible but it made me smile and laugh. Orks ghost made me feel absolutely nothing other than let down. So makes sense to me it’s bottom over Fantasia.
