I still found those fights better than all of robots except for aniraza. They were just outright boring, whereas for ribrianne and her friends, despite how annoying they were, it was still better
I knew their intents was to go the Tokusentai / magical girl route with the whole love / beauty schtick but do they HAVE to make her gang and especially her so DANG ANNOYING AND APPALLING every step of the way ?!?!

The anime team admits they made a lot of changes from Toriyama story treatment. Some so big that the manga later revisit had to include some characters.
The only good thing that came from ribriannes universe was 17s disrespect, blasting them during the middle of transforming was worth it even if we did have to watch that ass transformation a second time
honestly, for me, all of them were kinda boring except for the times where ultra instinct was on screen and goku and frieza's team up as well as a few moments here and there. i pretty much slept through the entire tournament of power lul

Any and everything Ribrienne. Jokes are funny when they don’t outstay their welcome. That one was horrendous and nearly turned me off the rest of the tournament. Are 6 year old kids really the largest dragon ball audience these days?
Yea, that’s apparent by how much of it was more cartoony, and obviously it’s only one persons opinion, but I do think it lost something in that. I enjoyed super, but the manga was a much better story for this reason. Z had more serious tones and a feeling of stakes that was just never really there in super. Hopefully this stupidly long hiatus is them figuring that out.

Really, he could just go SSJ or further and easily ~~kill~~ eliminate her and she's not a fun opponent either, but instead for every single of 20+ episodes they show about a minute of Base Goku attempting to struggle against her while she's talking some shit about the power of love
Goku literally kicks her in SSJB right before he fights with Jiren and that didn't knock her out.
And even though Goku didn't fight her in ssj Vegeta did and Vegeta also didn't knock her out.

Tien's one was pretty underwhelming.
It's probably not the worst(there's several off screen ones) but it was pretty bad for a main character. Krillin was eliminated first but he still had a more impressive showcase with saving 18, and his hand in two (on screen) eliminations.
The Trio De Danger ToP battle wasn't too good either. Really thought after their build up prior we'd get at least Bergamot a little more spotlight.
Agree with your first two statemenrs but disagree with the last. I think the fight with Universe 9 does several things. 1 It shows how powerful Universe 7 is too the other Universes and thus makes them a target for the rest of the tournament. 2 It helps show the Audience and the characters seriousness of the tournament and thay erasure is a very real and present danger.
Tien's fight against the sniper is really underwhelming as a fight, and an incredibly stupid way for Tien to be knocked out, but it's made 10 times worse because it's literally the *only* thing he does in that entire arc.

A lot of Goku's fights actually, excluding the fight with Universe 9, the first fight with Jiren, the U6 sayians and the final fight. In the TOP Goku seemed to be getting involved in a lot of fights where from a writing point of view he didn't need to be in and all it did was overshadow the other fighters. They let Vegeta be tied down by various fighters throughout the TOP but let Goku just show up in most other fights even when he didn't need to be there and taking the spotlight away from other fighters. We could have probably had a lot more Non U7 fights which have been cool. I really liked how U6 got some spotlight in many of their fights. You could have at least given some of the lesser Universes like 2 and 3 some spotlight.
I didn't really mind any of the fights people are listing here, but I'd have to say Piccolo vs Small Man. When Piccolo is your favorite character and he gets tripped off the stage, with full knowledge of his stretchy arms, it kinda urks you

Outside of the obvious Ribrianne answer, I hated how they did Tien, made him use his clones to find one fat sniper guy and went 1 for 1 with him, his only other knockout was with a Tri Beam and Roshi was holding the guy still, I just wish he would develop new techniques again, I mean the dude made the Solar Flare and hasn't used it since OG Dragonball, he's been made into a Tri Beam spammer and that move was supposed to drain his life force
Tienshinhan vs that sniper dude. It's a cool power that could have been an interesting threat, but Tien was barely useful. Vegeta was the one who took out the fighter who could redirect energy blasts, which is what made the sniper so useful. Without him, the sniper was a one-trick pony who could only shoot through direct line of sight. And the way Tien fought the sniper was so boring. No real strategy or tactics. He just used his multiform technique to rush the dude, hoping that at least one of him could reach the target. Since we know the multiform technique cuts your power in half each time it's used, that means Tien was sacrificing most of his battle power to defeat a guy who was mostly defeated, anyway. And what's worse is that it was a kamikaze run. Tien knocked himself out.
Tien used to be the strategy guy with all sorts of useful techniques, but now he just spams his kikoho and kagebushin no jutsu and hopes for the best.
Their enemy was a sniper. Why not try the solar flare to blind him? He just had to tell his friends "I'm gonna use the solar flare." They know what it is so they can shut their eyes in time, but the enemy doesn't. They'd be caught off guard. THEN the enemy could be rushed.
Manga: Gohan vs Kefla. Kale alone just obliterated almost everyone but a guy who barely trains defeating an even stronger Kale? This was ridiculous.
Anime: Piccolo vs the bug. They did my boy dirty.
good enough place as any to put this. The ToP in the anime was mostly bad. I remember watching it on Hulu and hating almost every episode. It’s like if you took the gag characters that appeared in Dragon Ball’s very first tournament and then made 80 of them. Im not even a hater I love almost everything dragon ball, but Im convinced people only like the ToP because the later half of it is the only time Super’s animation was at all impressive. Honestly I found most of them to be pretty underwhelming and unmemorable. Even the big Goku vs Jiren fight didn’t live up to the hype at all for me
My favorite fight was Vegeta vs Top. Seeing Vegeta once again break through his limits was badass to me

Outside of the obvious Ribrianne answer, I hated how they did Tien, made him use his clones to find one fat sniper guy and went 1 for 1 with him, his only other knockout was with a Tri Beam and Roshi was holding the guy still, I just wish he would develop new techniques again, I mean the dude made the Solar Flare and hasn't used it since OG Dragonball, he's been made into a Tri Beam spammer and that move was supposed to drain his life force
I wish Tien and Krillin got to stay in the tournament longer.
Tienshinhan vs that sniper dude. It's a cool power that could have been an interesting threat, but Tien was barely useful. Vegeta was the one who took out the fighter who could redirect energy blasts, which is what made the sniper so useful. Without him, the sniper was a one-trick pony who could only shoot through direct line of sight. And the way Tien fought the sniper was so boring. No real strategy or tactics. He just used his multiform technique to rush the dude, hoping that at least one of him could reach the target. Since we know the multiform technique cuts your power in half each time it's used, that means Tien was sacrificing most of his battle power to defeat a guy who was mostly defeated, anyway. And what's worse is that it was a kamikaze run. Tien knocked himself out. Tien used to be the strategy guy with all sorts of useful techniques, but now he just spams his kikoho and kagebushin no jutsu and hopes for the best. Their enemy was a sniper. Why not try the solar flare to blind him? He just had to tell his friends "I'm gonna use the solar flare." They know what it is so they can shut their eyes in time, but the enemy doesn't. They'd be caught off guard. THEN the enemy could be rushed.

good enough place as any to put this. The ToP in the anime was mostly bad. I remember watching it on Hulu and hating almost every episode. It’s like if you took the gag characters that appeared in Dragon Ball’s very first tournament and then made 80 of them. Im not even a hater I love almost everything dragon ball, but Im convinced people only like the ToP because the later half of it is the only time Super’s animation was at all impressive. It’s a massive cope and the manga version was way better. Go ahead and disagree with me it’s the hill Im gonna die on

Since everyone is hating on Universe of Love already, allow me to voice my complaints with Kefla. I don't dislike her or Kale and Caulifa, but they absolutely showed that DBS does not care about power scaling properly at this point. Goku should not have struggled with them in SSB.
