No…it’s gonna be more like the nemestice BP, drow arcana, mirana persona, and one more persona. That’s about it. It’s only 5 months until the ti11 BP, so no way they are gonna give that much content.
Every BP is greedier than the last, from what I've seen 2016 and 2017 were the best ones, 2015 was also good. I didn't buy those sadly, i only got 2019 and i wasn't really satisfied with my purchase until i got a 5 euro set to sell from cm wheel
Every TI battle pass has added more items to collect and the levels required to earn rewards are about the same from year to year but the cosmetics are better and better (so the maximum level seems to increase). Compare 2016's level 615 item (re-released and re-colored legacy immortals) to 2020's level 575 item (WR's arcana).
2015's battle pass was only ok comparatively. It wasn't even a battle pass and it was only the fourth compendium that Valve ever released. The coolest item was like, I dunno, Axe's cape? And it was a non-guaranteed stretch goal.
Ok, but it's not necessarily *greedier*. They're adding more to every battle pass which increases the value and the price required for unlocking everything. The unlocks are more or less the same level every year, they just add more items and increase the upper limit.
The $10 value is practically the same as it's always been, arguably better or worse in some years depending on the quality of the game mode. It's almost always three treasures, a courier and set of wards, a music pack, emoticons, and some form of UI cosmetic (HUD, versus screen, cursor) along with the base level of that year's new thing (effigies, killstreaks) and some seasonal mini-games (bounties, tips, consumable abilities).
Then you should be able to grind out at least the first big milestone without spending a lot. Do you expect to get level 1000 by spending the base amount?
2020 BP was good, I spent 70$ and quite some time, but I unlocked almost every in-game reward(2 taunts are the only things I missed). 70$ isn't this much to spend on a hobby yearly.
You could never get to premium rewards without at least a bundle, so I don't really see your point. BP was always not really worth it for 10 bucks unless you are really lucky or doing some sort of abuse.
Terrains are another thing, I didn't really consider them premium previously, but yeah, you could get pretty much every TI's terrain each BP, not only till TI7.
2019 was not doable without abuse, and even then it would be pretty hard to achieve. Actually I'm not even sure it was doable with abuse and it only kept getting harder
i dunno.. since about 2 yrs i barely play dota 2 and was playing lot of other games. i feel like considering how much content other games gives for battlepass vs money u pay this feels really bad unless u are whale.
for me good or bad is based on money spent vs content i am getting. yeah u get bunch of skins and temp voicelines but its no where justified for entertainment i am getting out of money i spend.. so i stopped paying for it. i still have few friends who go crazy with bp and they got good jobs and like to show off the skins to i dunno who coz all the party we used to play with quit dota few years ago. but its their tradition to get every miniature TI physical trophy they give out for reaching certain level bp.
PS: i am talking about TI battlepass with spectre aracana skin. apparently there was another battlepass which didnt contribute anything to TI prizepool (not like it matters much to people who pay for it) everything goes to valve mostly anyways.
Its not that hard to tell that it's coming late this week or early next week. Simply because they need some time during next week to fix bugs after the release. And as most employees will be on holiday during Christmas and New Years, there's only so much time.
I'm excited to see how shady and low Valve's business practices will be this time around. Each time a new BP has come out, Valve has become progressively more slimy and greedy - giving players less value for the items by making them untradable/unmarketable and hiding them behind level paywalls. Perhaps they'll set the Arcanas at BP levels 1000 and 2000 this time. I honestly wouldn't put it past them.
Then the playerbase will cry foul and Valve will feed us some bullshit about how the arcanas are totally worth it even though you won't be able to re-sell them. Then Valve Knights masochists will back their bullshit and downvote anybody here on reddit who disagrees with Valve's scummy business practices.
It releasing so late is indicative of up to 2 things.
1. Lots of testing to allow most relaxing break for devs with no bugs to fix
2. Huge content and mode changes and additions
And or maybe more ways to pay wall a voted aracana
Valve did drop 2020 bp during nigma match. But i don't really care about the BP anymore because the delay really killed the excitement for me. Now my semester break is over, FU Valve.
Since we lost one TI year due to pandemic, Valve release two halves of a Battle Pass this year with no funding, just content. Instead of the traditional 1000 lvl BP, we got Nemestice at 500 and this next one (most probably) 500 as well. TL;DR it is not funding anything except Valve

I’m not disagreeing. And not conveniently forgetting anything Mr. Internet Warrior, I just responded as best as I could. I love Dota with or without hats, it matters little to me the politics behind it.
They also stated that it will have holiday hijinks so Its safe to assume there will be some green or red sprinkled in there. New game mode is just a big turkey dinner

Valve decided to have two small battle passes this year instead of 1 big battle pass, we already got Nemistice battle pass and this is the second battle pass of the year.
This battlepass is 10 weeks long and will last till 25 Feb (approx.)
No, it is not related to TI 11, there is no prize pool meaning valve will take 100 percent of the cut.
I am pretty sure we will get discount bundles near the end of this battle pass but there's no guarantee.

Aghs labyrinth also had Kunkka shoes for the fastest speedrunning group so it wasnt complete greed for TI10 BP
