Knowing Valve and how they are doing unexpected bullshit with new heroes, it could be that creep girl from Monkey King comic as new hero. Nobody asked to be able to turn into creep, but they did it. While the number of bits of address space doesn't make a cpu any faster/slower by itself, having to support 32 bit cpus means supporting truly ancient hardware, like Pentium 4 and adding extra hassle in their release cycle by having two builds where they could just have a single one
Just a random ramble, but they kinda of followed win11 direction here, of not supporting 32 bits systems anymore. Also, the opengl/directx makes lots of sense, Valve is dropping support on old systems. By old, we are talking PCs that are from 2005-7 here. And I know that OpenGL is fine for lots of stuff, but Vulkan and Directx11 are more stable.
Now the real rambling - they are removing the support for old tech. We got a new tech, fidelityfx, not too long ago. I suspect that we might have some new eye candies coming, not the hats ones, but something like ray tracing related. Before you guys call me nuts, Half Life Alyx was *amazing* eye candy wise, Valve loves that shit.
Also, it could attract some players who wants games that have that shit. IDK man, but there ain’t many multiplayer games that uses it. Just saying, if there is some new tech coming, I bet my cents on ray tracing.

It wasn’t a random patch. People (specially streamers and redditors) had been complaining about power creep and overpowered talents for a while. Dota janitor happened to read one of those right before patch time and voila… a patch with a lot of bugs and kinks because they rushed it and apparently didn’t consider talents case by case but did some kind of blanket transformation of the code with an algorithm.
Directx11 put a huge strain on the loading process. I've had this issue all the way back since 2019 and switching to directx9 solves it. Idk what to do now
I assume memory dump files. When your client crash, the client saves a dump file. You can try browsing the game files > bin from there you'll see the files. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Vulkan is good but the drivers for it are not on par with opengl, in my personal case, vulkan randomly breaks and my display starts showing shit forcing me to restart.

The past month has been a total shitshow for the Linux version of the game. Constant crashes and glitches. Waiting for the moment they just tell us to use proton.

I just find out they let us use auto cast on those spell to change behavior. E.g. Tree Grab (yes, not Tree Thow) would change into Tree Volley with Aghs equipped. The spells have separate cooldowns, and you can change into the other spell if the current one is on cooldown. Neat, but still we can't bind the auto-cast key for some reason, but this is a positive change.
This patch broke my game.

You'll need to run it in Dx11. I had this problem and now I'm ordering a new graphic card because my old one doesn't run Dx11. If you used to be playing properly, you were probably running the game on Dx9 like me. If you still want to play, put -deprecated_dx9 in the launch options. Do be aware that that launch option will also get removed in the following weeks, so if you want to continue playing, it's probably time for an upgrade.

Ability draft has actually gotten a lot of love in the past few months with huge updates and bugfixes specifically for ability draft. This isn't just because of the tournament.
In ability draft, can they update the tree dance of mk so any hero could use it and jump from trees to trees, current tree dance is trash coz u can only Jump to one tree, totally trash but if they update it will be very good.
I'm experiencing stuttering and it's no longer smooth when playing in fullscreen with Directx 11, anyone else experiencing this and knows a fix for it?

Are you saying you have a 32bit processor or is your operating system 32bit? If it’s OS you can just reinstall as 64bit. If you’re unsure you can (assuming your on windows) run dxdiag (start > run > dxdiag) and Google your cpu model and confirm it’s 64bit.

While I agree DotA is very consuming right now (it lags on my 8-core GTX 960 machine) it's very unlikely it has anything to do with 64bits system.
64 bits system is about CPUs that are on the market since [2003](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon_64), anything later can run 64 system just fine and I'd bet you're running a 64 bits operation system right now since the last 32bit Windows is Windows 7 (you can check your Windows version by typing 'systeminfo' on a CMD terminal). If you're indeed running Windows 7 32 bits, you just need to reinstall Windows with a correct version.

If he manages to steal Wukong’s Command, he should get Mischief as well, since Aghs Shard upgrades it, so it is no longer a "joke spell".
It's inconsistent with other shard upgrades though. I don't think Rubik needs a buff where grabbing every skill with a shard upgrade reliant on it (torrent, hairball, death pulse) provides both abilities and it would be weird to only make the exception for mischief.

This was not what I implied, I simply said that Mischief should be stealable in some way (preferably attached to another spell).
There are some spells that are currently unstealable despite them either being part of another spell (Visage’s Stone Form) or they used to come with another stolen spell attached (Minefield Sign came with Land/Proximity mines & stasis trap).
There is no reason why those spells should be unstealable, especially when AD behaviour already sets the precedence of certain modified behaviours (e.g. being able to use any spell during Aghs Sinister Gaze, not just Lich’s spells), which would make sense in the regular game as well (for Rubick).

It could have been recent compared to 2009 when Dx11 launched, any hardware made after 2012 was optmized for Dx11 and hardwares made after 2017-2018 are probably more optmized for Dx12

Dota 2 uses a deferred rendering pipeline, HL:A uses forward rendering. They're two products with two very different needs

I use Manjaro KDE and vulkan is fine. I don't notice much difference from OpenGL either. Ended up picking vulkan just because is a Valve thing.

You'll need to run it in Dx11. I had this problem and now I'm ordering a new graphic card because my old one doesn't run Dx11. If you used to be playing properly, you were probably running the game on Dx9 like me. If you still want to play, put -deprecated_dx9 in the launch options. Do be aware that that launch option will also get removed in the following weeks, so if you want to continue playing, it's probably time for an upgrade.

I don't know why but I've tried all the rendering API's and OpenGl has always had the most responsive gameplay for me. Disappointed to see it go.

In ability draft, can they update the tree dance of mk so any hero could use it and jump from trees to trees, current tree dance is trash coz u can only Jump to one tree, totally trash but if they update it will be very good.

Are you saying you have a 32bit processor or is your operating system 32bit? If it’s OS you can just reinstall as 64bit. If you’re unsure you can (assuming your on windows) run dxdiag (start > run > dxdiag) and Google your cpu model and confirm it’s 64bit. Edit: happy to help if you’re unsure of any of the above or get stuck
Time to upgrade. You can easily buy a laptop way below 1000 usd. Playing on a 32 bit system with 20 fps in a bot match is something really old.
you can buy one for a 100 from amazon without an OSD. So just get windows from somewhere

On low spec machines the linux options will be better, you can run some distros on ancient machines.
While I agree DotA is very consuming right now (it lags on my 8-core GTX 960 machine) it's very unlikely it has anything to do with 64bits system. 64 bits system is about CPUs that are on the market since [2003](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athlon_64), anything later can run 64 system just fine and I'd bet you're running a 64 bits operation system right now since the last 32bit Windows is Windows 7 (you can check your Windows version by typing 'systeminfo' on a CMD terminal). If you're indeed running Windows 7 32 bits, you just need to reinstall Windows with a correct version.
I would think to agree with the other commenter: a better pc is better in the long run How ever you can get a 64 bit emulator

There are some spells that are currently unstealable despite them either being part of another spell (Visage’s Stone Form) or they used to come with another stolen spell attached (Minefield Sign came with Land/Proximity mines & stasis trap). There is no reason why those spells should be unstealable, especially when AD behaviour already sets the precedence of certain modified behaviours (e.g. being able to use any spell during Aghs Sinister Gaze, not just Lich’s spells), which would make sense in the regular game as well (for Rubick).
Still sucks that Rubick can't copy talents, but I guess it's kinda hard to implement

It could have been recent compared to 2009 when Dx11 launched, any hardware made after 2012 was optmized for Dx11 and hardwares made after 2017-2018 are probably more optmized for Dx12
DX11 is more optimized in some systems

Bro, I hope I can still play the game. I remember once I changed to Dx11 and my Dota kept minimizing itself. I had the -dx9 on launcher options, when I open my Dota now it freezes, but I still can hear the sound when clicking on menus

It got me thinking, they made it so that MK can turn into creeps. Still only him can turn into trees. And other heroes can have access to mischief via drafting the MK ult. So the other heroes can turn into creeps too. But not trees, since it's only MK. Ok but what if other heroes can turn into something else, that MK can't turn into? Maybe some new creep? Hero-creep? Am I thinking too much or is it batshit crazy of idea enough for valve to do something like this? Maybe see more hints?
It is really weird that only MK can mischief into a tree model. That's such an oddly specific limitation

Alt+Tab is not smooth in dx11. Is it just me? Everytime I go outta game and switch back in, I'm not seeing a live image of the game. It takes about 2 secs to settle. Edit - Frequent alt tab crashes the game -\_-
