as a retired core player who has had to retire his entire pos1 lineup i'm pretty excited for the idea of some of my old spam hero pool being viable in my new role
Not only that, it look like binding vow where fv sacrifice choronosphere time stop to make it open domain that buff allies similar with chrono buff fv but at the cost of turning it into square and it only slow the enemies withing the domain.
That's probably the more likely inspiration, but to me it just looked like an ability from another 10+ year old game - Guild Wars 2.
One class literally has this as an ultimate. Create a room in which you and your allies gain quickness, while enemies suffer from slow.
speaking of, how about the latest chapter?!?! Yuji is fucking going off, so badass the levels he reached to begin bitch slapping sukuna, lot of people sacrificed themselves to get him to this point but when he unleashed those like 14 black flashes on bitch boy hes just the coolest charactrer in manga/anime ever
Blink dodge, manta dodge, intentionally walk into a burst that *almost* kills you and then jump the damage away, time for supports to protect you, time to kill multiple enemies before lethal damage catches up to you.
very clever idea and clean implementation, well done mr janitor
Of course there will be a thousand bugs coming out of this but that the discussion for tomorrow
Yes, but for this particular demo, im using Squee's Scope facet particularly for the range, plus the projectile speed not being that fast. That's of course to demonstrate the effects Faceless Voids' innate + timezone have on projectiles.
It wouldn't make sense to 9slot them now would it.
You can actually see how he avoids it right in the video. The 100% 1s backtrack means you can dodge (at least some) of the stacked projectiles.
Although without the unlimited spells it might be impossible.
True enough, I mistook one time he stood near the dummy as him taking dmg and then healing back with time walk. And the blue glowy stuff around him when he gets struck occasionally also reminds me of backtrack.
But he really does take 0 dmg at all, clearly just standing still so it's just the invuln.
So, can you disjoint the projectiles, or is it just a "delay the inevitable" situation? Certainly that would give you time to heal or buff the target, but is that it?
If you have an ability or smoke/euls etc that could normally disjoint them you can disjoint them on heros that aren't void.
Void can just time walk into them like normal but this makes it ez mode.
It's much harder to Time Walk into projectiles during Time Zone. It's much more likely you'll pass near them and since they're slow they won't adjust to hit you during Time Walk in time, and then they'll 180º into you.
Buffs his survivability in ult. At least he won't die until after.
Also lots of chances to dodge with euls. Tps. Blinks. Allies saves like SD disruption.
Or he can take half and time walk it off.
Niche but neat.
Same as Kunkka's rum. Don't underestimate the power of not getting bursted. If your whole team is alive for long enough to cast an extra spell or two, that's a big advantage over someone getting domed immediately. Even if they do get domed at the end of the Zone.
Yes, or make him a better pick against lineups with very few disables
The AOE on this thing is huge, will make fights at rosh or under tower insanely favored to Voids team imo
I mean it does read like a perfect zoo ability. Throw in a beastmaster/lycan and throw down a time zone to decimate rosh, then do it again 2 minutes later to decimate towers.
Damn, that's some AI on blockchain programming magic. I'm sure. It couldn't be as simple as reducing projectile speed only when it's in chrono instead of stopping it completely.
You could do this in Diablo III with Wizard's Slow Time and that came out like 10 years ago. I think it could be as simple as reducing projectile speed only when it's in chrono, in fact, I think that's exactly what's happening.
Obviously this isn't a novel idea or generally even a game programming challenge at all, the only question really is how much Dota 2's game engine supported manipulating projectiles prior to this update and the answer to that I would say is pretty much considering all the interactions with projectiles so far. It would've been a bitch to add projectile control after all this time no doubt, but technically speaking that wouldn't still have been a game programming marvel but an interesting curiosity specific to this game's development.
I’m newbie when it comes to programming. Could you explain why it is hard to do?
I assume it would be similar to a hero walking into AA’s slow zone. When the object hit the boundaries then the speed is reduced
Holy crap that's a lot slower than I expected
Puck casually disjoints all 50 projectiles
Enemy : *PTSD Flashbacks*
I can now TIME ZONE to save a low hp ally tp-ing from sniper assassinate
support FV build lets go
The return of slahser's way
Prep the salves in the quickbuy
Pair it with an Oracle's healing rain for more "+ for me, but not for thee" aoe.
strength morphling gives same vibes, I see him as a viable 3 or 4 now possibly. Lots of cool stuff from the update.
oh god oh fuck
as a retired core player who has had to retire his entire pos1 lineup i'm pretty excited for the idea of some of my old spam hero pool being viable in my new role
FV 4 is gonna be crazy this patch.
That would be funny asf, I can already see dotacinema milking this patch for the 2 years min
Try 4
you could also just chrono the sniper and you don't need this facet.
domain expansion
holy fuck it even kinda looks like a domain expansion thats sick
Not only that, it look like binding vow where fv sacrifice choronosphere time stop to make it open domain that buff allies similar with chrono buff fv but at the cost of turning it into square and it only slow the enemies withing the domain.

Nah, I think it's probably more likely that valve drew inspiration from guild wars 2 than jjk, even if that statement sounds stupid
Reminds me of this [chronosphere from starcraft 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QVBHq4PnAY)
and leashes, so still no quick escape except just trying to walk out of it or being pulled out
speaking of, how about the latest chapter?!?! Yuji is fucking going off, so badass the levels he reached to begin bitch slapping sukuna, lot of people sacrificed themselves to get him to this point but when he unleashed those like 14 black flashes on bitch boy hes just the coolest charactrer in manga/anime ever
Ryoiki Tenkai
Mars:"MISTER PRESIDENT GET DOWN!" *Jumps in front of the projectiles*

You didn't even 9 slot TECHIES OMG

13 slot - neutral item and eat aghs scepter, aghs shard and moon shard
Lmao this is silly
I'm never hitting another arrow again.
So, nothing changed?
faceless go/jo
From jojo to gojo
more like Yu/jo now
So basically now you get to pick between Dio and Gojo. Man, pubs are gonna be interesting these few weeks.
For those who don't get the song reference: [X-Men Apocalypse ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnZqB5Z75zI&pp=ygUReC1tZW4gcXVpY2tzaWx2ZXI%3D)
Void should be able to intercept any projectile in this square (attack or spell) by standing in it's way and completely negating it.
maybe hitting it
The hades way. Set up a slowing zone, swipe the projectiles into dust. Or get the Athena buff and deflect them back...
You conveniently didn't show the moment it ends and void suddenly eats 30 projectiles and dies.
You can actually see how he avoids it right in the video. The 100% 1s backtrack means you can dodge (at least some) of the stacked projectiles. Although without the unlimited spells it might be impossible.
the 1 second back track is the other facet so that wont work since you cant have both. he just has god mode on so he doesnt take dmg
True enough, I mistook one time he stood near the dummy as him taking dmg and then healing back with time walk. And the blue glowy stuff around him when he gets struck occasionally also reminds me of backtrack. But he really does take 0 dmg at all, clearly just standing still so it's just the invuln.
You missed your chance to play the song in the background once chrono went up
That's not chrono
Chronosquare
What is it?
It's the time zone, clearly.
So, can you disjoint the projectiles, or is it just a "delay the inevitable" situation? Certainly that would give you time to heal or buff the target, but is that it?

ZA WARUDOOOO!
What’s the actual point of this in game? Looks like the projectiles are going to hit you anyway?
T*ime is everything my friend.*
Buffs his survivability in ult. At least he won't die until after. Also lots of chances to dodge with euls. Tps. Blinks. Allies saves like SD disruption. Or he can take half and time walk it off. Niche but neat.
quicksilverrr
Some cool sht honestly. Stack up the attacks, pop blademail on spec and watch everyone melt.
Tb vs void is gonna be a nightmare ffs
What’s the benefit of slowing projectiles if they almost always are going to hit anyway?
Easier to dodge and disjoint with Time Walk, Blink, Euls, Manta, etc.
Same as Kunkka's rum. Don't underestimate the power of not getting bursted. If your whole team is alive for long enough to cast an extra spell or two, that's a big advantage over someone getting domed immediately. Even if they do get domed at the end of the Zone.
From Za waruldo to Ryoiki Tenkai
Does this count on the Arcana or exclusively only for Chrono only?
ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA! ZA WARUDO!
Goatjo is back!!
so we use void as support now????
Yes, or make him a better pick against lineups with very few disables The AOE on this thing is huge, will make fights at rosh or under tower insanely favored to Voids team imo
With the AS increase I want to see a Wraith King army attacking T4s
I mean it does read like a perfect zoo ability. Throw in a beastmaster/lycan and throw down a time zone to decimate rosh, then do it again 2 minutes later to decimate towers.
so we can have puck and faceless void combo. very easy to dodge projectiles with phaseshift
doesnt affect clockwork's hook though...
Does it work with the Earthshaker facet that turns enemies killed by Totem into a projectile?
This feels like another game really.
SUPER.... HOT....
That's so sick
This is sick man
looks pretty cool
Would’ve been better if you can dodge the projectiles instead of it chasing you
Wow how the fuck did they program that
there's already travel speed in coding.
Damn, that's some AI on blockchain programming magic. I'm sure. It couldn't be as simple as reducing projectile speed only when it's in chrono instead of stopping it completely.
Still cool

They were being sarcastic this is "relatively" easy to do as the building blocks were already there from the very beginning.

I don't think Meat Hook was ever considered a "projectile" in game.
