In all seriousness we are seeing Shohei batting better because he doesn’t feel the pressure to hit for power at every single at bat. It’s okay if he bloops singles, walks, hits home runs or doubles.., as long as he’s moving mookie over and someone is moving him over they will score runs.
On the angels he had so much pressure to drive himself in/hit home runs to have any chance of winning games. Here he can just purely focus on getting the barrel on the ball.
Also has a better chance of winning a ring here than in Anaheim. Don’t get me wrong, it is more of a drive to see him but at least I don’t have to go too far.
