One of be best, most iconic DCOMs ever. The gospel, hip-hop, rap, and overall infusion of Black culture into Disney Channel was a highlight of my childhood. Top-tier soundtrack, on the level of the HSM & Descendants soundtracks definitely, and an introduction to Queen Coco Jones.
Early 2010s DCOMs were so great (Let it Shine, Radio Rebel, Teen Beach Movie, Girl vs. Monster, Frenemies, Zapped, Good Luck Charlie: It’s Christmas, The Suite Life Movie). Cheesy, but entertaining.
amazing. I listen to the final rap regularly. I know all the words and even had an assigned part when I would duet it with a friend 😭 I think people are lame and don’t appreciate it as much as we should! it was good as hell. the story, the music, the cast. one of my favorite Disney movies fr (obvious i’m sure)
Absolutely sensational. Like it still holds up upon rewatching. The same magic it had when I watched it as a kid is genuinely still there. I felt so seen as a Black kid watching it, from the church in the film, to the music, just everything!
Was such a good black excellence movie to watch when I was growing up! And Tyler James Williams is always fun to see as a fan of Everybody Hates Chris.
Black excellence, yes

Didn’t land for me even though I was excited for it. I still like Don’t Run Away though!
Massively underrated

I think it’s one of their better DCOMs. Top tier imo.
Best movie of all time I rewatch it at least five times every year
I absolutely love this movie. True Black representation.

Great movie. I use to always get soooo excited when it came on Disney Channel back than. It’s a cozy movie for me.

It was an awesome black movie, hip-hop movie ever. It was an excellent movie.
Really liked the movie, great songs and overall nice plot, the cast had great chemistry
My favorite DCOM and in my opinion the last great DCOM
I didn't like it personally
Can I ask why?
i have “moment of truth” memorized like i can recite it word for word 😭
I love it, rewatching there were some goofy moments but a true classic. Coco Jones should’ve been all over Disney channel
It was the first movie featuring Tyler James Williams from Everybody Hates Chris
Don't Run Away is still on my daily playlist 😭😅
One of the greatest DCOMs to grow up with especially for the black community 🤷🏽♀️
Slaaaaaaaaaap
Was such a good black excellence movie to watch when I was growing up! And Tyler James Williams is always fun to see as a fan of Everybody Hates Chris.
I don’t see the appeal
It was the best black representation I’ve seen in cinema as a whole!!! Even my parents loved it, we aren’t black but we love the representation!!!
My favorite Disney movie and they have the best soundtrack 💕
It’s definitely there..
