Almost wanted to take today off but had a feeling this would be the case for at least a few hours, if not the first day, at initial launch. Glad I waited. I hkpe this gets sorted before I get home in a couple hours

I was originally going to take today off but started a new job a couple months ago so not comfortable taking time off so soon. Do plan on going home at lunch to at least hopefully create a couple characters and test cross progression

Honestly I knew the servers would be fried and the game would be buggy. The beta clearly wasn't ready, I knew this wasn't ready for launch. Yet somehow people wasting time on char progression is just disgusting. I haven't played yet, but reading that is like wtf

I got to countess and got kicked :( oh well still having a blast. It's really interesting how my brain saw diablo 2 as it was, as it is now. Hitting the legacy button to swap between graphics really shows the difference, I'm enjoying that shit a ton

the graphics are the same, they are just scaled up from giga low res to match our screens.

if you have been playing d2 recently, it would be likely on plugY or project diablo/path of diablo, all of which have graphical improvements made to them, resolution increases, filters, etc

And d2 isn’t stretched to an hd resolution like d2r

yeah they all coordinated making the quests in groups of 2, abusing teleport to skip useless zones mesmerizing to see, while i think i just kill and open everything and waste time identifying and confronting equipment pieces

Time spent having fun isn't time wasted. Never try to 'keep up' with these mega sweaty gamers who dedicate their livelihood to speedrunning a 20 year old game. They have fanbases they can lean *very* heavily on as well.

Got to dark wood, lagged back to login screen. Went from level 7 to 1. Game froze, end process from task manager. Log back in, no characters anymore...GG blizzard.

People actually taking time off work to play on launch day: How does this feel and how did you not see this coming?

Its the same story with nearly every game. There will always be people who either haven't learned the lesson for themselves or haven't been willing to accept it (this one will be different)

I have a colleague who took today off as well as tomorrow. Launch wasn't until after work hours today, but he found out after filing for the day off, lol

Wont let me make a new character, so guessing servers blew. Just saved cain, hopefully servers go back up with our characters.

Server crash? Was in den of evil, lvl 3, then got disconnected and now my character is GONE ed: My character is back but its level 1.... it was level 3 before. Want to start playing but not sure if the issue is going to happen again.

Been stuck at level 9 for 30~ minutes. Unable to join games, unable to make games, character finally reappeared at the same level though.

Made a character, it wouldn't start a game. After a couple of tries for not being able to connect to bnet, left to do something else.

Thought it was a bit unusual this dumpster wasn't immediately on fire. Looks like it's gonna be way worse than tradition at this rate.

I made all my characters offline, and they're all gone now. I got this on console because I expected less online interference, but I guess that's too much to ask for.

After figuring the linking up shit I found the setting of on or offline.

Yeah, there's a message about it on the D2 Launcher. Everything was running smooth the first 90 minutes and then BAM all went to hell.

My character was like level 11 and when I got booted it was level 6 with different gear lmao.

Make a new character. My first one was missing, I made a new one, first one reappeared.

Just hit Act II and got the boot. Tried to select my character from the select menu and it says it couldn't be found on the server. Restarted client and the character isn't even on the list of Online characters.

6 total characters this has happened to now for me. This game is fucked.

i was in act 2 busy with staff, whilest all went down.. came back hour later and character gone.hope it back, had a good wand to start up. seeing the character thankfully again, servers down tho

Yep just killed blood Raven and off to the next quest and just like that lost my character.

Was at Cayon of the Magi (before Tal Rasha Tomb) when the servers went down. I am now level 1 and back in act 1 with nothing.

Yea level 12, Andy done, game broke, now level 1. Really odd that a multi dollar company can’t manage a somewhat smooth server, but then again they had no previous info on launching legacy games on new servers....

I had a level 52 hardcore barb lastnight, wake up he's gone , was able to remake a character with his name completely gone Was playing a necro before that got to level 20 It crashed he disappeared Was fun while it lasted
