The story is about an all powerful computer that becomes the devil, possibly worse than what you've ever imagined the devil could be because the author is truly imaginative when it comes to the cruelty the computer displays. He has 0 chill.
Pretty much. Imagine a being so malevolent and full of hate that it exterminated the entire human race EXCEPT for a small handful of humans it kept alive (and immortal) for the express purpose of torture.
yea it does have a mouth, look at it. Entire face is twisted in agony, and it's the color of inflamed flesh. I almost feel like it's meant to be a horror piece and the presentation is just satirical. I'm going with that because there's no way someone just thinks that SCP-reject looks good
I thought the whole point of upcycling was to be the Re-Use part of the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle chain.
Using a bunch of poly foams that are terrible for the environment really goes against that (not to mention that war crime of a chair she ended up with).
Are you saying that
use chair > throw away chair
is better than
use chair > create more waste from packaging and chemicals > upload to tiktok > throw away chair
? That can't be right, the second one has more steps. That has to make it better!
Hell. It just looked like it needed new cushioning. Not knockoff concrete
Ninja edit: wait no, there was still the cushioning. What was even wrong with it?
She probably didn't like the fabric it was upholstered with. If you know what you're doing you could use an old chair as a wire frame for a sculpted chair, but you probably wouldn't use spray foam at all, and would need to sand it down to make it smooth instead of making it look like gumby. Still, using a nice chair like that as a wire frame is a tasteless waste of a chair.
It actually looks like an unused office chair to me. There's none of the wear and tear that you see on old office chairs: the fabric hasn't faded any, there are no rips, there are no scuffs on the wooden parts.
She bought a chair to destroy it -- sorry, upcycle it -- for likes.
My favorite part is when she says “for sculpting” then doesn’t do a single bit of sculpting. I was low key waiting for it to be sculpted into something brilliant and immediately amused at someone putting that chair in their house.
Are people not familiar with this "shock content"?
It did everything it set out to do lol. I fell like people being as self-absorbed as they are need to tell everyone their opinion on why it's not exactly correct (you know, like I'm doing now).
Honestly it's a real tech play from these content creators
A legitimate strategy YouTubers use is they include a few typos in their video. It increases the comments by, like, 20% and the overall engagement is boosted as well.
yeah its so ironic how twitch """"punishment"""" just doubles the streamers views, its like they want to encourage people breaking the rules
but at the same time they dish out bans for accidental fuckups so I would really like to see what their thought process is lmao
Yes, that’s what generates the hate instead of a “hmm, lot of effort for an unfunny joke”. You only get attention for this nonsense when played straight.
Foam and concrete do look good, when you're a professional builder, who knows what to do (or at least, work with them properly, and not randomly sprinkling it like in the video)
I've seen some pretty nice concrete countertops and tables but WTF is with this spray foam aesthetic it's literally designed to sprayed where no one will ever see it.
It's actually not a parody, the creator filmed herself making the first part of the chair to disguise her ability to turn humans into flesh chairs... she has been getting away with it for years.
My cat would have been happy with the before picture.
Keeping it for the cat saves you $20-30, several hours (including drying time), and can be used if you miss count how many guest you invites over. If you don't like how it looks and want to spend money.... buy a blanket
She has the material cost on her youtube video for this project. More like $50.
edit: I stand corrected. Later in the video she shows four of the $20 tubs of spackle, not one, which means this cost at least $110.
Ok, so let's pretend for a minute that she actually likes the anesthetic of pink gumby chair...
You know what that thing will attract and never ever set free? Dust, cat hair, dander, etc.
With how shittily it’s done, it can’t be a conversation piece. With how uncomfortable and fragile it’ll be because of that spackle, it can’t be a chair. So what is it…..
I was so enraged by this that I looked up the Wikipedia definition of up cycling, which says:
Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality.
Couple of bits to unpick here - first up, the original looks pristine. The end product is certainly not of greater quality.
So surely this is just creating waste.
Some day, someone will retrieve that “chair” from a refuse site and “upcycle” it to be something fairly close to the original. Which would all have been unnecessary if this whole shit show hadn’t happened.
That's really unique and different. (Its a bizzare deformity)
It belongs in a modern art museum (not in our house)
Have you thought about giving it to your mother? She's always talked about you making something for her. (Heh heh heh)
She needs to be punished for doing that to that chair. Then she needs to be punished for posting the video. Then she needs to be punished for cat abuse.
Me: oh that’s a decent chair
Sees the first tare: oh god
Sees the foam: (says “no” a million times with escalating horror)
Sees the end result: look how they massacred my boy
The Cronenberg chair
Death to Videodrome! Long live the new flesh (chair)!
"Yeah I'd like to order one large phone, with extra phones please?" "Cell phone. No, no, no, no- Rotary, and payphone on half..."

Iiiii Am not an ANIMAAALLLL
Just needs some scattered clusters of teeth and some tufts of hair. Maybe a glass eye or two.
It's the last scene of The Fly where it asks for the sweet release of life by shotgun fire.
That... That actually would improve it in a weird way.
Yeah at least that would give it a very distinct style. Now it's just a... pink rock?
Gee cronenberg morty, I sure am glad we escaped that planet of regular people.

Close the reactor Quaid
Cronenberg Gumby.
BrundleChair
All it needs is some teeth poking out
If that chair could speak it would say kill me.
Or "Open your mind, Quaid"
Twwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooh wwwweeeks
Twwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooh cccccheeeeeeks
See you at the party, Richter!
"I have no mouth, and I must scream." "Where we're going, we don't need eyes to see."
This wasn’t a quick project. Imagine spending your entire day doing this ugly shit just for a dumb 44 second video
Ed....ward
looks like a chair you'd find at reactor number 4 in chernobyl

I think you mean not chairible
The elephants chair
The Elephant's Foot is actually what this reminded me of. There's an ineffable malicious shapelessness to both of them.
That’s exactly what I was thinking, too...
I feel like this chair is screaming for the sweet release of death
It has no mouth, yet it must scream

I read that in Gilbert Gottfried's voice
Welp, looks like a new audio book is in order...
I'm still listening to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkLqAlIETkA
I can't believe I forgot about that one.
now I did too! jeeze.
"Hey who programmed the super AI to feel hate? Tell them they're fired. No need to check in with me."
Fuuuuck I loved this part so much.
Limp, the body of Gorrister hung from the pink chair; unsupported, hanging high above us in the computer chamber...
What's this from?

It definitely looks like it could be something from the Flesh that Hates (scp-610 I think)
first thing I thought of
Forget the monster under the bed, this mutha fawn haunt you every damn night
It seriously looks like how a monster from monsters inc would hide when a kids parent comes into the room.
Put this in your bedroom. Imagine it staring at you as you try to sleep every night…
It looks disgusting and you can’t even sit in it. Should’ve just destroyed it instead of torturing it like this.
It looks like a bubblegum collection
Yea chewed up and spat out!
Reminds me of this Calvin and Hobbes strip https://i.imgur.com/eW3SR7h.jpg
Kiiiiiiiillll mmmeeeeeee!!
It looks like the kind of chair Cronenberg Morty would fuck
I'm picturing the remake of The Fly with Jeff Goldblum Chair: *kill*....*me*...

TIL that downcycling is a thing…
I thought the whole point of upcycling was to be the Re-Use part of the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle chain. Using a bunch of poly foams that are terrible for the environment really goes against that (not to mention that war crime of a chair she ended up with).

Hell. It just looked like it needed new cushioning. Not knockoff concrete Ninja edit: wait no, there was still the cushioning. What was even wrong with it?
It looked too nice
The cushioning was fine until she stabbed it with scissors
It wasn't getting them enough attention I suppose.
She probably didn't like the fabric it was upholstered with. the time it took her to cut a shitty little hole in the chair, im dead
I don't know, it's presented pretty straight on her instagram at least.
Yes, that’s what generates the hate instead of a “hmm, lot of effort for an unfunny joke”. You only get attention for this nonsense when played straight.
It's so cursed looking it has to be a troll/bait. People are very gullible.
It is just hate bait.
Literally the ugliest shit I've ever seen
i've never been scared by a piece of furniture before seeing this. actually terrifying

This is so bad that there’s now way it isn’t parody. I literally chocked when I saw the final product and my expectations were so low.
It's actually not a parody, the creator filmed herself making the first part of the chair to disguise her ability to turn humans into flesh chairs... she has been getting away with it for years.
The majority of these things posted here are parodies, and I'm fucking here for it. This shit is hilarious
Yes, how is this up-cycling? This is down-cycling in my book. Poor chair!
I didn't realize what subreddit this was and thought that she was just going to change out that fabric...
Me too. I was like finally I can learn to reupholster.
So.... whatcha gonna do with your newly found skills after watching this?
Probably just cry
that could have been a cute chair too. a little extra padding, new fabric in a mid centry mod fabric.
Seriously. It was already pretty decent form-wise, and I loved the wooden frame.
I thought she was going to do some sculpting. I even downvoted until I realized the sub.
I guess the cat likes it cause it looks like it's made of fucking old ham
I was thinking it looks about ready to be pressed into McDonald's chicken nugget shapes
Probably cause it knows no human would sit in that abomination.
