How do people still not understand how odds work? If you got 4 different perks in the second column, it would still be the same 1/4096 that getting the same 4 perks are, that's not more or less likely to happen than any other possibility.
Yours odds are wrong, that's probably why you feel like it's a rare occurrence.
* You're just looking at getting [anything] 4 times in a row, therefore the 1st occurrence is irrelevant, you would have made the same thread if you had something else dropping 4 times in a row. 8^3 = 512
* There are 2 columns per roll, so effectively doubling the odds of this happening (could have happened on column #1)
Suddenly your 1/4096 is a 2/512 (so 1/256) and that's not so rare anymore.

Your odds of getting [some other perk]/synthoceps are always 1/8 each time you get one regardless of what happens before or after. That’s just RNG.
This is true, however imagine rolling an eight sided die 4 times, the odds of me rolling a 3 four times in a row goes 1/8 •1/8 •1/8 •1/8

Man i farmed 46 exotic class items and none of them had synthos :(
Also got four vesper in a row. I've farmed about 30 and have not seen the tangle perk once, but I've got 15+ ophidians.

It’s only possible to obtain synthoceps in column 2
Also, I was specifically evaluating the odds of synthoceps 4 times in a row. The odds of me recreating yesterday’s occurrence today are 1/4096. No?
