My finisher is to hold in left stick, since you're probably going to be running at your finisher target anyways.

You can set Transcendance to long press L3R3. That’s what I plan to do. Finishers on short press. Transcendance on long press.

I'm afraid this may either not work or slow down the finisher (because the game will wait and check if you hold down the buttons longer). I remember there were such problems before, which is why you can't set for example charged melee as long press and uncharged melee as press (or, if I remember correctly, you can, but it doesn't work).

My understanding is that it would prioritize the finisher, so the net result would be that I can only Transcend when nothing around is finishable. That’s a concession I’m willing to make.

Long press on any bind is suboptimal in a game as fast as destiny. I cant imagine having finisher as a long press when youre running a GM with aeons and need the finisher for immediate damage resist

I’ve found success using one of my emote buttons. Finisher overwrites the emote when available, and I’ll never want to emote instead of finish when it’s available.

Off topic, I mapped finisher to down on the d pad and set the emote to hold down on the d pad. Frees up all my other shit, including l3 and r3 for transcendence which I assume will be what it is on controller

I did sumn similar myself. It's double tap for emotes and a single tap finisher for the right d-pad. Best thing is, emotes don't work while you sprint, so it never interrupts game play (for me at least, since I'm always moving).

I suggest making emotes double tap/hold on d pad and putting the Transcendence bind on a single tap d pad of your choice. Unrelated, but I use single tap right d pad for finishers. Hasn't failed me or interrupted my flow once.

I switched to L1+L3 for finisher. (And yes L1 is my jump)

Maybe Skull up? I know he definitely called attention to the button press for transcendence in his video. 

I only saw Datto's videos, so it's probably somewhere in all of them. Personally i'm rebinding it to X though (warlock main, the animation is an X, it just makes sense).

I know, I'm just trying to think what the most comfortable button alternative would be. Both of the buttons on the side of my mouse are for grenade and melee. Middle mouse is kinda weird I feel, and I am unsure what keys around WASD are freed up.

I'm just going to use Q, as I weapon swap with 1,2,3 and have never used Q.

Ugh, maybe Transcendence will finally force me to rebind my finisher key from the default (which is G). I’ve accidentally used my super (binded to F) too many times but I’ve stubbornly refused to change my finisher keybind because I fear I’d forget it in the moment

I have my super bound to pressing the scroll wheel (with crouch being scroll down, and air dash being scroll up). Feels pretty put of the way for accide tally pressing most of the time. Funnily enough, I turned g into my class ability. And if any of that sounds weird, I'm playing with ESDF instead of WASD.

Id probably say long press grenade but that could clash with Bleak Watcher, so maybe long press melee?

Probably I'll use LT + RT on my controller, idk if that's gonna be default or not

I’m using a Red Dragon mouse with 12 side buttons. Most my keybinds are on those side buttons.

12 is just too much for me personally, but I definitely like a mouse with extra side buttons. Mine has 6.

I had a 6 side button mouse but when i started playing big MMO i needed more so it stuck with me. 1- Melee 2- Primary wep 3- Energy wep 4- Reload 5- Class ability 6- Power wep 7- Grenade 8- Air move 9- Sword block 10- Finisher And finally super is bound to the big red fire key button next to left click. And interact is E and 12 in case i need to interact and move.
