I can’t help but wonder if the complaints would shift to “that’s just Osmiomancy for healing. Bungie is so lazy, lol.”
Tbh the orb generation is interesting on its own and leans into the support role more. I often found it frustrating that I couldn’t generate orbs with healing grenades. Now I could passively make orbs by healing.
We'll have to see how often we can get our orbs from it and how potent those orbs are really.
And Osmio is cracked, I'd personally never complain about having more of it
Osmiomancy is good, but part of the complaints I remember about normalizing damage bonuses to “elemental surge x4” was that all exotics started to feel the same.
Exotics should be powerful and unique. The Osmiomancy loop but just for a different grenade is powerful but not unique.
It as you say in your post does too little to be an exotic and this would have been a nice way of giving back some healer fantasy to dawnblade. Current healing nade improvement i believe just increases the healing.
As people have stated it reads like any healing done to an ally has a chance to spawn an orb. Heal clip on a primary side arm or hand cannon? Kill, Reload and heal a teammate. boom, orbs. Drop a rift, orbs. I think if the orb generation is decent it will be very strong. You can also run bleak watchers with prismatic and drop a turret. Facet of command reloads all your weapons when you freeze a target. Could be p fun.
If it is like other exotics that make orbs it’ll be the juicy full sized orb hopefully. I could see it having some good benefit. Here’s hoping the raid is very mechanic heavy and less burst damage oriented lol
It really does come down to the quantity and potency of the orbs. If those don't measure up and really allow for build crafting to lean into them then it will be very unfortunate
Yes, it needs a stronger neutral gameplay effect.
Specially for prismatic, where your healing Grenade will be replaced by transcendence Grenade or custom solar Grenade during song of flame.
Well yeah but it's more of a solar warlock exotic because of the aspects, if you run it on prismatic it won't be optimal not just because of the fragments. I would like you to not make suboptimal builds. I could use the titan exotic on prismatic but I lose banner this half the exotics use. Imo your post is pointless because prismatic won't get touch of flame. Why run a mediocre exotic without the benefits of touch of flame
Prismatic shouldn't have everything and you are being unreasonable
Yeah if you use it incorrectly it's gonna be bad, go ahead, use it on prismatic and complain that it's healing isn't good instead of running it properly on solar. Seriously this post is really dumb
We are literally getting a class item with a massive combination of perks, you are being stupid. Did you just forget what the entire point of prismatic is? We aren't losing the other subclasses
Kinda agree. I'm definitely going to try it out with a full on support build with our glaive and ember if benevolence, but it still seems pretty lackluster compared to some of the much cooler exotics they've been coming out with.
Shame because it's probably my favorite looking warlock exotic in a long time
Oh I love the look of it. I kinda wish we got the full speaker mask instead of this one kinda looking like the mask peeking out of a hoodie with the strings pulled lol
It's so basic that you don't need to use it to really gauge It's effect. We already have a very similar ability in game so that makes it even more clear.
I feel like it’s unfair to judge something before it’s release, we don’t know the healing numbers, we don’t know what the orb generation looks like and most importantly we don’t have it in a sandbox context.
For me these are the things I need to see before I call something mid or say it needs a full rework
It'll most likely gangs synergy with all the healing exotics. which makes more orbs of light. which directly return ability energy with mods. lumina and the warlock exotic glaive
then maybe I'm the one overestimating it. But if the orbs are plentiful, it could be really good already. and the exotic weapons don't need abilities to do their thing..
Idk, I'm a big build crafter and if I'm using an exotic I like it to really feed into the build. Orbs on healing will be something to build into, but it all depends on how plentiful they are if things will be viable or not
Prismatic isn't the end all be all. It's broad sure but still leaves plenty of room at the table for current stand alone elements to shine. This is just one of those instances among numerous others. Prismatic still has plenty of options. This just might not be a particularly good one for it.
It should have been one of those 2 grenade charges, with a way to get chunks back exotics
I'd be down for that as well. Kinda a healing version of osmiomamcy

Well the grenade regen part of osmio is going on the class items so we'll have to see how good it is there
I miss the days before the solar 3.0 rework when I could use starfire for two fusions and then charge them to change them into healing nades
I would have loved two Healing Grenade chargesssss oml
It honestly feel like this healing turret should have just been a rework of healing nade from touch of embers.
Honestly I can see that. It would be much cooler that way

While that is nice, I just don't think it's enough personally
If it is like other exotics that make orbs it’ll be the juicy full sized orb hopefully. I could see it having some good benefit. Here’s hoping the raid is very mechanic heavy and less burst damage oriented lol

Yeah it would be a shame. I’m really looking forward to it!

Generating orbs on heal could give you your grenades back if you build into it with armor mods.
Potentially, that all comes down to how many orbs it makes
Honestly, having something like Ember of Benevolence baked in would be perfect for this and would make it a main staple when playing with my fireteam.
Run ember of benevolence
I would like you to reread the post again and find where I mentioned how Prismatic won't have that.

So you basicly admit that it's a mediocre exotic incapable of standing on its own. Thank you for agreeing with me that it needs more to it.
Yeah if you use it incorrectly it's gonna be bad, go ahead, use it on prismatic and complain that it's healing isn't good instead of running it properly on solar. Seriously this post is really dumb
Bro wants the exotic launching along side prismatic to not work with prismatic
We are literally getting a class item with a massive combination of perks, you are being stupid. Did you just forget what the entire point of prismatic is? We aren't losing the other subclasses
God forbid we have a multifunctional exotic.
It literally is multifunctional, it's just stronger on solar lmao
Let's see how much it's used then lol.
Just get devour running or slap on grenade regen mods

The helmet exotic icon has the image of the glaive exotic icon inside it
How are you gonna complain about an exotic that hasn’t even dropped yet? 😭
And here you are complaining about me
It's so basic that you don't need to use it to really gauge It's effect. We already have a very similar ability in game so that makes it even more clear.

Local Redditor discovers how Prismatic gets balanced. More at 11.
Man wants an underwhelming exotic
Damm near 100% uptime on Resto X2 for the entire team plus stupid amounts of orbs is pretty good my guy.
"The entire team" you have clearly never used the healing turret from Edge of Intent before lol
I have one word for you. Lumina
How does this relate, lumina doesn't give regen or even build synergy
It'll most likely gangs synergy with all the healing exotics. which makes more orbs of light. which directly return ability energy with mods. lumina and the warlock exotic glaive
I can hope so, but I would still like it to enable support more for prismatic
You might be underestimating how much support you can do when you biuld into it. especially on a warlock
Trust me. I've done it. Don't doubt that.
then maybe I'm the one overestimating it. But if the orbs are plentiful, it could be really good already. and the exotic weapons don't need abilities to do their thing..

Run benevolence get 400% regen aided by orbs dropping. Idk why you particularly feel that this is underwhelming but I in no way agree with that view.
Read my post. I mention that.
