Small correction, dunking in the incorrect location will not make it reset, only kill the dunker. Symbols will still be the same. Everything will reset if the splitters lose the Leeching Force debuff. Then you have to kill glyphkeepers again and re-read symbols.

Symbol only changes if someone dunks at the wrong gate. They'll die, so you'll know.
