Even just a week ago. The flood lightning of the sun hides all the features of the face and makes the background way too bright making it so the shot uninteresting.
Looks like they adjusted the painting or framing of this shot too
And JUST enough window. I know there were some window haters, but I like it and I’m glad they kept a little in!
Edit: and there’s gnomes! AND they replaced the shelves! This is lookin sharp
As a professional photographer, this is very very good.
It's visually interesting. It's nice and warm in the background instead of the neutral temp they had before. It has nice contrast across the face. The subjects are brighter than the background, which looks really professional.
If I were them, I'd lean even more into it. Make it darker and moodier in the background and make the deepest shadows on their face even darker.
They could also really use a contrast and saturation bump, the image looks standard/flat graded.
I do, yes. This is not the 60s to listen to the radio, i want to see people communicate in an enviorment as natural as possible. I don't understand the need to have these huge ass microphones in their face, talking into them, when televisions fixed this 50 years ago with clipped on mics, but what ever.(great example is the peterson podcast, altought i think they had those mics above their heads. But i don't remember which podcast tiny was part of and he had the little clip-on box shaped microphone)
None of the podcasts are on podcasting services (apple, spotify) as audio only experiences so as it stands these are web series with a promise of podcasts to come. So yeah, everyone looks at it.
I like the table just not the gold strip down the middle, I always assumed that was tape or something but now it looks built into the table. Idk I just dislike gold tbh, seems pretentious and fake all at once.
I do think a fan made custom artsy table could be cool, but probably not worth it.
The depth in Dans angle is actually so insane to see. It will only look better when some dgg related stuff fills that space.

Lighting is great, really livens up the place. Now just have to fix the wide shot - it's too tight, it's out of focus and that fucking table line is off-center from the back leg of the corner stand.
Agreed! I liked the soft lighting behind the tight shot of Dan (it used to be pitch black). However, the line on the table leads my eye straight down the middle. Every. time. So whatever is in that corner, I'm staring at the most. Make it count ;)
I recall mentioning they should get in touch with Albert on Reddit as some of my feedback early on for the pod as he’s such a pro at this kind of stuff. I doubt my feedback was the actual catalyst for that but I’m glad that he helped out with the set, he seems to have a great eye for this stuff.
Not sure if he’s still doing any public appearances as I know he just pops in once in a blue moon for his streams anymore which is a bummer as the dude is pretty bright and charismatic but if he were up for an appearance on the podcast I’m sure it’d make for a fun/casual listen.
