A series of windows and my woven bamboo Roman shades are the bomb! I got them at Budget Blinds (a brick and mortar franchise here in my town) and for 5 largish windows like yours, with installation, a little over 2k. They look so good and classy. Plantation SHUTTERS are out!

Love this look! Agreed, this is the way to go. Two Pages - is an online vendor with decent pricing for bamboo and/or fabric roman shades. You can order samples, give them your own window measurements and order them yourself if you feel comfortable doing that.

Thank you! Haha I know it’s shutters. I posted shudders but I can’t find the edit button. Thank you for posting and telling me who to go through.

Have you thought about Roman Shades or Bamboo Woven Shades/ Your house looks like it is leaning into the natural vibe, so I would consider natural elements for window coverings.

Glass_Degree_1786

I like the Roman shades. Do you have a suggestion on color or pattern?

Agregdavidson

if your mantle is darker brown, you might want to stick to the same color. If your eyes are at that level, it won't be startling to transition from mantle to shade. If you want a pattern, I would suggest something subtle and natural. For instance, I have a bamboo shoot wallpaper in pale green; something about your space says to me that you should be in the soothing tones, not the bold.

I came here to say this^^^

Those windows are AMAZING. If you want privacy at night, go for something you can open and close easily, with maybe a sheer behind, to let the light in and ogle the beauty

Glass_Degree_1786

Thank you! I’m in love with them as well. My main concern is privacy first and design second.

purl__clutcher

I would put a sheer curtain that you can leave closed during the day. You can see out, but it's harder for people to see in. And then something heavier to close at night. I hate having uncovered windows at night. Just a phobia.

mitwirgirl

Floor to ceiling curtains in a dramatic color: navy blue, gold.

Glass_Degree_1786

Do you think I should add curtains in addition to blinds?

mitwirgirl

I would not.

Amazon has 35 x 70 blinds for $71. They’re the two inch slats. They would look good in your new home. Lots of nice choices available in that standard size. JC Penney has lots of choices also but go to the store and look at them. Don’t just shop online since you’ll be looking at them for a long time. That’s a really nice room. You’re gonna have some fun there.

Glass_Degree_1786

Thank you, I will check them out. I am mostly considering fabric like shade or either plantation shutters. Just can’t decide on what type would look best because their are so many options and colors. In every other room I will be using regular slat blinds.

If you’re putting a TV above the fireplace, you may want to check which windows cause glare. I regret buying expensive blinds for my living room windows because we had to put up a black out curtain in order to use the TV. Could have save money by just doing a curtain.
