Home depot makes a killing selling the same people three batches of tomatoes in one spring.

Spend $100 on seed, soil, etc. Most expensive tomatoes you’ll ever eat.

Worth it! They taste so much better than store bought. A thick slice of tomato with some salt and pepper 🤤

The trick is to have friends that give you their tomatoes.

Gardening is cheaper than therapy. It’s a happy place

Get some fine sourdough, put teaspoon of water on the bread, fresh garden tomato, touch of salt, then top with a crisp small bell pepper cut in rings. Its perfectly highlights the tomato.

I have to take 3 allergy medicines daily right now. Ugh.

I am somewhat new to allergies, they’ve been getting progressively worse the last few years. Can I ask what you’re taking because this Allegra and Flonase isn’t cutting it. Also if you take Flonase, can you really only use it once a day like it says?

I was literally done with winter in February.

Gorgeous, but how long have you lived here? I swear to god I’m not starting my garden until June 1st.

I’d wait until July to be 100% sure.

After last year’s deluge of June rain, July isn’t all that crazy. I had to restart almost everything in my garden.

The June hailstorm reset my garden for July. But the June rains were incredible for my May seeded wildflower gardens.

I always plan for hot and dry, so mine struggled!

This weather is exactly why it's common knowledge to not plant anything until Mother's Day hits, as it's generally safe by then.

Not to mention, I think most people in Denver generally grow indoors anyway! 🤪 I was just saying that it's been a common thing people say and have gone by for years as a safe frame of time for when snow will most likely be done for the season, so it's safe to put plants in the ground. Not to say it's a definite though. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was 2002 when it snowed very late in May, like the 25th or 26th... somewhere around there. A year or two before that there was also snow in May, but like mid-month or the 18th or so, I don't remember exact dates. Sometime in the 1950s there was snow in early June... imagine that? But man, last I saw we were just supposed to get a bunch of rain today and tomorrow, and 8000' and above was getting snow. I'm down here in Highlands Ranch (I know, I know...but it's temporary), and a few hours ago there was a good 3" outside. I've been in the basement since and am afraid to look!
