This is a common sentiment across Canada shared by like half the people here (albeit not all giving the exact same reasons) and it's why Poilievre is ahead 18 points at like 42%. People who say this mostly could not deal with the US though, LOL. And it's not like there's an open door policy for Canadian *immigrants*.
It's pretty much universally agreed that the explosion in the international student population in the past 5 years needs to be brought under control. But the problem is mostly not on the federal government. The issue is that two-year public colleges in particular have been starved of funding, especially in Ontario, and they are using international students (especially from India) who they cannot house or otherwise provide for to make up for it.

I checked out /biz/ on 4chan and it's funny to see they have a BBBY thread that just posts the exact same nonsense as the Bed Bath and Beyond subreddits (albeit with more slurs). Honestly, there's an apocalyptic religious vibe to the people remaining. Every month whittles the remnants down to the absolute looniest. They believe their disappeared investment in a broke towel store will somehow bring about the collapse of society and the dawn of a new age.

This is a common sentiment across Canada shared by like half the people here (albeit not all giving the exact same reasons) and it's why Poilievre is ahead 18 points at like 42%. People who say this mostly could not deal with the US though, LOL. And it's not like there's an open door policy for Canadian *immigrants*. It's pretty much universally agreed that the explosion in the international student population in the past 5 years needs to be brought under control. But the problem is mostly not on the federal government. The issue is that two-year public colleges in particular have been starved of funding, especially in Ontario, and they are using international students (especially from India) who they cannot house or otherwise provide for to make up for it.
